For those of you in the central Florida area, be sure to make your way over to Montverde tonight for our first National Game of the Week. Arlington Country Day and Javier Baez take on Montverde Academy and Francisco Lindor. Baez and Lindor have played as teammates several times, including the 2010 Aflac All-American Game and with the Cardinals Scout Team at the 2010 WWBA World Championship. Today they will face off in our first game of the week.

A lot of great matchups this week to choose from, it was a difficult decision to pick just one but our National Game of the Week for Week 2 is: Brenham (TX) vs Round Rock (TX).

Does your school have a big matchup this week? Tell fellow fans and players about it here...

Horizon HS v. Desert Ridge HS. Both are defending state champions in their respective divisions. Horizon's Nick Valenza LHP will face off vs. DR's Scot Hoffman RHP in a battle of two of the state's hardest throwers. Both have touched 93 in the past.

Great stuff baseballsun, should be an interesting pitching matchup.

We will be keeping a close eye on that entire tournament in Scottsdale as Horizon-Desert Ridge is just one of several good matchups this weekend and next.

Horizon/Desert Ridge was a one sided affair as Horizon defeated a graduation depleted Ridge team 7-2. Nick Valenza LHP started the game off in the 90-91 range, but a bit wild. He got out of a jam early and cruised from there. Scot Hoffman was the victim of a few errors, which led to unearned runs. A good twenty scouts were on hand for this one. Valenza was a nice surprise today and had some scouts chirping a bit.
