“There is always going to be people that like and dislike season-ending tournaments, conference tournament formats. You can debate that until the cows come home. It just depends upon what side you want to land on. It is my take that for the most part coaches in our league prefer this type of format. Now whether or not it determines a true champion I don’t really know. If you go in there and win four games like Virginia did you are the best team for those five days. I guess that debate would really get a lot stronger if an ACC team wins the tournament that is not in the NCAA Tournament."

Coach Fox requested that Associate Head Coach Scott Forbes fill the weekly exclusive interview with Inside Carolina after the Tar Heels swept the Chapel Hill regional outscoring their opponents 27 - 3 while Coach Fox was away from the team for personal reasons.

Some team will be very lucky to have Forbes as their head coach, but it appears at least to this observer that he has passed the audition to be next in line at North Carolina, if the administration realizes what a talented staff that Coach Fox has from top to bottom.

Heck, Coach Jackson would make a great head coach right now at a mid-level Division I school. If I was Tennessee I would offer him and get great bang for the buck. I'm not sure how long Gilmartin is planning on coaching at Coastal Carolina or how long Coach Scalf is going to coach at UNC-W. I think with Jackson's coaching acumen and recruiting he could continue a team heading into the post-season.

Of course, hopefully the Diamond Heels will continue to enjoy having these talented coaches with the program, along with Robert Woodard - who is a rising young talent who dominated in college and had a nice professional career before injuries opened the door to coaching.
