What a dog fight last night at Alex Box. Matty Ott needs to tighten up if the Tigers are going to get a series win.

Didn't get a chance to watch the game, but it looks like Ramirez pitched relatively well, but he was hurt by his own mistakes and his catcher's mistakes. He had 9Ks in 7 innings, but walked 2 and hit 2, plus had a throwing error, which led to early runs. Giving LSU extra outs got his pitch count up and probably hurt him later in the game.
For LSU, doesn't look like they were crisp in the field, but seems like the executed offensively pretty well and put pressure of CSUF, which they clearly did not handle well early.
Matty Ott definitely needs to tighten up for this team to succeed. His freshman year he was nails and he had great sink on his fastball, which made his other pitches successful. His sophomore year however, he was not getting on top of that fastball and left it up constantly, which led to his struggles and had trouble throwing his other pitches for strikes. However, this year's LSU team does seem a lot more solid than last years. I am curious to see how their starting staff holds up this year.

Agreed, Ramirez did pitch a good game as did the true freshman for LSU, if this keeps up this could be a special season. It is good to see the young arms, and I don't think LSU has had this many power arms in a long time.
