Day one
  • Washington State 7, Arizona 4, (suspended t8). Game suspended after 7 innings due to rain.
    Series tied 0-0.

  • Oregon 3, California 2. SO southpaw Tommy Thorpe scattered 3 hits over 7.1 IP and gave up only 2 runs (1 earned) to notch his 5th win of the season. FR RHP Ryan Mason took the loss for Cal, although he only surrendered 3 runs over 5 innings and gave up 8 hits. JJ Altobelli was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI.
    Oregon leads series 1-0.

  • USC 5, Arizona State 0. USC pitchers Sean Silva, a junior transfer making only his second start, and Brent Wheatley combine to shut out Arizona State and limit them to one hit. Michael Benjamin got the Devils’ only hit in the 4th to lead off the inning. ASU loaded the bases in the 9th on three free passes, but they couldn’t scratch a run. The Trojans had 12 hits overall, led by RF Greg Zebrack with 3. Trevor Williams pitched a complete game 8 innings in the loss.
    USC leads series 1-0.

  • Oregon State 1, Utah 0. Matt Boyd (7-1) had another great outing, holding Utah to 2 hits in his second consecutive complete game conference shutout. Mitch Watrous (2-2) pitched well himself, holding the Beavers to 4 hits and 1 run over 7 innings. The Beavers got the games only run in the 1st. Tyler Smith got a full count one-out bloop single, and Michael Conforto followed with a perfectly executed hit-n-run that sent Smith to third. Dylan Davis grounded out to plate Smith for the only run, thanks to Conforto running on the play to avoid getting doubled at second. The Beavers had the bases loaded in the 7th, but Watrous was able to get out of the jam unscathed.
    OSU leads series 1-0.

  • Stanford 7, Washington 5. The Huskies led 3-2 after two innings, but Stanford scored 3 in the 4th and led 7-3 after six. UW led off the 9th with three straight singles and had runners at the corners with nobody out down by two runs. But the next three batters popped out, struck out, and grounded out to end the threat. Justin Ringo led the Cardinal with 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Jayce Ray was 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs for UW. Mark Appel pitched 8 innings and gave up 7 hits and 4 runs (3 earned) for his fifth win.
    Stanford leads series 1-0.

  • UCLA 2, Loyola Marymount 0. Adam Plutko scattered 3 hits over 7 innings. CF Brian Carroll led the Bruin attack with one hit and 2 RBIs. The Lions had two runners on in the 6th with one out, but Plutko stranded them.
    UCLA leads series 1-0.

Standings after Day 1: both Beaver Bob and ASU74 are going for broke and for today lead the pack with 33 possible points still, but i full expect those scores to come crashing back to earth. with several people making the same picks there is a lot of bunching together. Hogfan4life who is playing it safe takes up the cellar but has the highest level of fewest points possible so i fully expect him to climb back up the standings. There is some slight skewing in the scores due to Ariz/WSU not being done yet.

Day two
  • Game one: Washington State 9, Arizona 5. Entering the game today in the 8th inning with a 7-4 lead, Wazzu tacked on two runs in the bottom of the 8th and finished with a 9-5 victory. SO LHP Joe Pistorese from Kalispell, MT, got the win, going 6.0 IP and scattering 5 hits and 2 runs. FR Austin Pernell made some great plays defensively in centerfield, in addition to going 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs at the plate for Wazzu. Johnny Field was 2 for 4 with 5 RBIs for the Wildcats, accounting for all of Arizona’s runs driven in.

Game two: Arizona 6, Washington State 5. Arizona led 4-0 after seven innings, which was good for them as the Cougars scored 2 in the 8th and 3 in the 9th to fall one run short. JThe Cougars had the tying runn at third with two out in the bottom of the 9th, but Tyger Talley struck out Jason Monda to end the rally. JR RHP James Farris pitched 7.1 innings to earn the win.
    Series tied 1-1.

  • Oregon 10, California 4. The Ducks blasted starting pitcher Keaton Slomkin for five earned runs on five hits in the first inning, then tacked on three more runs in the second on a leadoff solo homer by Brett Thomas and a two-run homer by Scott Heineman against reliever Collin Monsour, who also lasted only one inning. Heineman finished 3 for 5 with 4 RBIs. Devin Pearson homered for the Bears, a leadoff solo shot in the 3rd. Oregon’s Irvin Cole pitched 5.0 innings for the win.
    Oregon leads series 2-0.

  • Arizona State 6, USC 3. ASU left-hander Ryan Kellogg (8-0) pitched 6 innings and gave up 8 hits and 2 runs for the win. USC kept it a close 4-2 game until the 9th, when ASU plated two more runs to take a 6-2 advantage. Both teams finished with 10 hits and 2 errors. JR Center fielder Kasey Coffman went 4 for 5 with 3 RBIs for ASU, including a two-run homer, a triple, and a pair of singles, falling a double short of hitting for the cycle. James Roberts and Adam Landecker were both 2 for 4 with 1 RBI for the Trojans.
    Series tied 1-1.

  • Oregon State 8, Utah 3. FR RHP Andrew Moore (7-1) pitched 6.2 innings and gave up 5 hits and 3 runs (all earned) as the Beavers secured their fourth straight conference series win. Beau “Ruth” Day was 4 for 4 in his first ever start and had 2 RBIs for the Beavs. Dylan Davis and Tyler Smith also had 2 RBIs for OSU, and Andy Peterson was 3 for 5. JR 3B TJ Bennett was 2 for 4 for the Utes.
    OSU leads series 2-0.

  • Washington 11, Stanford 3. In perhaps their best conference performance to date, the Huskies scored more runs against Stanford than anybody else this year except UNLV, who beat the Cardinal 12-2 on March 9. Stanford looked outmatched all day. Michael Camporeale drove in four, Jayce Ray and Braden Bishop had three hits each, and Austin Voth (4-4) pitched eight solid innings as the Washington baseball team cruised to an 11-3 win over Stanford. Voth gave up five hits two and just runs, both in the first inning, while striking out nine.
    Series tied 1-1.

  • UCLA 3, Loyola Marymount 1. UCLA broke a 1-1 tie in the 6th with a walk, two doubles, and a single, and Nick Vander Tuig (5-3) pitched 6.2 innings and gave up 4 hits and 1 run (earned) for his 5th win. Eric Filia was 2 for 4 for the Bruins. Tommy Cheek was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI for the Lions.
    UCLA leads series 2-0.

Standings after Day 2. UOsportsguy jumps ASU and BB to take the lead (barely), Hogfan climbs up a little bit by playing it safe (also probably ecstatic that his hogs whooped LSU yesterday ), and down at the bottom is RiverDuck, but at least he is not alone, he has another Duckie in OregonG20 to keep him company: Still anyones game as only 4 points seperate 1st from last.

Wow, Fred. That's kinda lame. I would never don an opposing team's gear myself. I've not heard of any policy like that in any other stadium either. Whaaaaa?

yeah that is dumbest thing i have ever heard, why not just ban ALL fans of the opposing team from donning their teams colors, next time the Dbacks are at LA the dodgers should turn away ALL Dback fans....

Yeah, going to the game, I was a little confused with how many fans where rooting for LA. Was really strange, and felt like a noxious weed was growing in Chase Stadium. I am glad the home team won.

For ASU and BB to win they need all the favorites to win their games today, UOsports guy needs all the favorites to win, but UCLA to lose in order to win. in fact after crunching the numbers the most important game standings wise today is the UCLA game. as 14 people need the bruins to LOSE in order to get a max score. 10 people need the Duckies to lose (including RD and OregonG20). Beaverstate69 is the only person who wants WSU to win today

It was from what I can understand, it is all about the Suite Contract. Kinda like the Seinfeld episode when Elaine refuses to remove her Baltimore Orioles baseball cap and they are consequently evicted while sitting in the Yankees team box.

Day three
  • Arizona 7, Washington State 3. The Cats and Cougs traded a 3-spot in the first two innings, then matched zeros until the 6th, when Arizona broke out for 4 runs. SO lefty Tyler Crawford pitched a complete game for the win, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs (all earned). SO Scott Simon pitched 5.2 innings in the losing effort. Riley Moore was 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs, and Trent Gilbert had 3 hits for the Cats. FR 2B Trek Stemp was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs, and PJ Jones 3 for 4 with 1 RBI for the Cougars.
    Arizona wins series 2-1.

  • Oregon 5, California 4. The Ducks scored two in the 1st on two singles and a two-out RBI double by Scott Heineman. The Bears got one back in the 2nd on a couple of singles and an RBI groundout. Heineman led off the 6th with a solo bomb to run Oregon’s lead to 3-1. In the 7th, Tyler Baumgartner hit an RBI sac fly with the bases loaded and Ryan Hambright singled to add two more runs for the Ducks. JR C Andrew Knapp blasted a 3-run homer for the Bears in the 8tth to close the gap to 5-4. Cal had the tying run at third with two out in the 9th, but Jimmy Sherfy got Devin Pearson to foul out on a 1-0 pitch to end it. Heineman finished 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs for Oregon. Knapp was 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs for Cal. The Ducks outhit the Bears 14 to 8.
    Oregon sweeps series 3-0.

  • Arizona State 6, USC 5. The Sun Devils scored 5 runs on 4 hits in the 2nd on a walk, a double, a single, and back-to-back doubles. They tacked on a run in the 5th on Trever Allen’s solo homer. USC scored 4 in the bottom frame, three of them unearned as Garrett Stubbs struck out for what should have been the third out but reached first base safely because of an error on the catcher. That kept the inning alive and allowed the Trojans, via a single and a double, to plate three more. USC had the tying run in scoring position with two outs in the 9th but failed to score.
    ASU wins series 2-1.

  • Oregon State 4, Utah 1. Beau Day continued where he left off yesterday getting hits in his first two atbats today for a 6 for 6 streak before striking out in the 6th. He finished 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and appears to be a contender for player of the week. Ryan Barnes was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. FR LF Wyler Smith was 1 for 3 with Utah’s only run batted in. Ben Wetzler wet 6.1 IP with 8 strikeouts and one (earned) run to tally his second win of the season. The Beavers outhit Utah 10-3.
    OSU sweeps series 3-0.

  • Stanford 12, Washington 2. Stanford scored 1 in the 1st, then 6 in the 2nd, and the rout was on. They added two in the 4th and two more in the 5th to stretch their lead to 11-1. Brant Whiting and Justin Ringo were both 2 for 5 with 3 RBIs for the Cardinal. Michael Camporeale was 3 for 3 with 1 RBI for UW. SO lefty John Hochstatter pitched a complete game for Stanford, scattering 7 hits and allowing 2 runs (both earned).
    Stanford wins series 2-1.

  • Loyola Marymount 4, UCLA 1. Three LMU pitchers limited the Bruins to 5 hits and 1 run--a leadoff honer by Kevin Kramer in the 4th--and the Lions salvaged a game in the series. UCLA had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the 9th with nobody out, but reliever Bret Dahlson struck out Kevin Williams and induced Brenton Allen to GIDP for the final play of the game. SR C Colton Plaia was 3 for 5 with 1 RBI for the Lions.
    UCLA wins series 2-1.
