2008 Top Prospects

Gerrit Cole  - RHP - 2008 - Santa Ana, CA - USA
Live arm-pitched 91-94, and touched 95. Great run on his fastball that will break tons of wood bats. CH had great tumble with arm speed, and CB was sharp. Great upside, and one of the top pitchers in the nation.

Ryan O'Sullivan  - RHP - 2008 - El Cajon, CA - USA
He is a two-way prospect. O’Sullivan was up to 91 on the mound with a 76 mph curveball. He has bat speed with raw power potential to be a middle of the order hitter at the next level. A must follow.

Jomel Torres  - 1B - 2008 - Chula Vista, CA - USA
Torres has a quick bat with great raw power. He gets leverage at the point of contact and can drive the ball with the best hitters in the country.

Shane Kroker  - 3B - 2008 - Westlake Village, CA - USA
Kroker has a very projectable body with upside. He ran a 6.93 and threw 87 mph across the diamond. His bat and glove are good making him a must follow. Kroker has a chance to be special.

Brandon Van Dam  - RHP - 2008 - Lancaster, CA - USA
Van Dam showed the best raw power at the event hitting several deep home runs at Point Loma Nazarene University. Not only is he a middle of the order bat, but he was up to 88 on the mound. Van Dam has great two-way upside.

Matthew Harrison  - SS - 2008 - Henderson, NV - USA
The top defensive shortstop at the event showing smooth actions with soft hands and great feet. Harrison threw 89 mph across the diamond and ran a 7.00 sixty. He is a line drive contact hitter who makes consistent contact.

Brandon Meredith  - OF - 2008 - Chula Vista, CA - USA
Meredith is a physically strong player who can hit the ball a long way. His bat speed and power are among the best on the West coast. He also ran a 7.00 which is impressive for a player of his size.

Royce Bolinger  - 3B - 2008 - Scottsdale, AZ - USA
Bolinger is very young for a 2008 prospect, but you wouldn’t guess it from his build and tools. Bolinger threw 90 mph from the outfield with online carry, and there is strength in his swing. Great upside.

Thomas White  - C - 2008 - Scottsdale, AZ - USA
White and Bolinger both play for a talented Chapparral HS team in Arizona . White produced pop times under 2.00, with a best of 1.84. He has bat speed and strength in his swing that will make him a dual threat at the next level.

Mark Radmacher  - C - 2008 - Rosemount, MN - USA
Radmacher performed well in the workout portion, as well as in game action. He threw 77 mph from behind the plate with pop times consistently around 2.00. In one of the showcase games he hit a deep HR to right field and threw out two of the fastest players at the event trying to steal.

Beau Charbonneau  - 1B - 2008 - The Woodlands, TX - USA
Charbonneau showed raw power that will make him a middle of the order hitter at the next level. He was also one of the top defensive first baseman at the event.

Denver Chavez  - MIF - 2008 - Santa Barbara, CA - USA
Chavez is a little spark plug who ran a 6.90 sixty and threw 80 across the diamond. He had three stolen bases in one of the showcase games.

Zach Chavez  - MIF - 2008 - Santa Barbara, CA - USA
Chavez had the fastest sixty time running a 6.65. He also shows very good bat speed and hits consistently solid line drives to all fields. Chavez is fun to watch.

Robert Delp  - SS - 2008 - Las Vegas, NV - USA
Delp is one of the most projectable players who attended the Sunshine West. He ran a 6.87 sixty which is impressive for his height. Delp also has a good swing with projectable power.

Nathan Johnson  - C - 2008 - Camarillo, CA - USA
Johnson was one of several talented catchers at the event. However, Johnson was the best receiver of the group. He has very soft hands and works well behind the plate. He also has bat speed from the left side with power. He hit a deep HR to right field in game action.

Charles "Cody" Lewis  - RHP - 2008 - Laguna Niguel, CA - USA
Lewis is a big, strong RHP with a good arm. He topped out at 87 mph at the event, and allowed only 1 hit to the 14 batters he faced while striking out 6.

Jordan Mitchell  - RHP - 2008 - Phoenix, AZ - USA
Mitchell is a physically strong player who was up to 86 mph on the mound. He struck out 9 of the 13 batters he faced and allowed only 2 hits. Mitchell also has good bat speed with projectable power at the plate.

Matt Nestlerode  - RHP - 2008 - Thousand Oaks, CA - USA
Nestlerode is a two-way prospect on the mound and behind the plate. He pitched three innings of hitless ball while topping out at 87 mph. He also showed the arm strength from behind the plate throwing 78 mph.

Joe Pond  - RHP - 2008 - Centerville, UT - USA
The lefty pitched three hitless innings with 4 strikeouts. Pond was up to 86 mph, with more velocity to come. He has a quick and easy arm with solid secondary pitches.

Steve Selsky  - OF - 2008 - Manhattan Beach, CA - USA
Selsky showed very good raw power during batting practice driving the ball deep. He also has the bat speed that showed make him a very productive middle of the order bat at the next level.


2009 Top Prospects

Tim Berry  - LHP - 2009 - San Marcos, CA - USA
Berry showed advanced skills for a 2009 prospect. On the mound he struck out 7 in 3 innings. He showed pitchability at topped out at 84 mph. Two-way prospect who got it done with the bat and defensively as well.

Ryan MacNair  - C - 2009 - Laguna Hills, CA - USA
MacNair showed solid tools behind the plate with pop times under 2.00, and a best of 1.96. He also collected two hits in the showcase games.

Robert Refsnyder  - OF - 2009 - Laguna Hills, CA - USA
Refsnyder is an advanced defender with good arm strength. He also went (4-6) in game action, including a HR.

David Rivera  - 3B - 2009 - Upland, CA - USA
Rivera is has physical strength in his body. He showed raw power at the plate with good bat speed that make him a run producer in the future.

Seth Spivack  - C - 2009 - Calabasas, CA - USA
Spivack showed good tools across the board. He ran a 6.98, threw 84 from the outfield, 77 mph from behind the plate, and had a pop time of 1.98.

Joel Thys  - C - 2009 - Auburn, CA - USA
Thys has a projectable body with solid tools behind the plate. He is very quick and that helped him produce a pop time of 1.92. Solid catch and throw tools.

Zack Turner  - C - 2009 - San Carlos, CA - USA
Turner is a strong bodied RHP who was up to 86 mph on the mound. He struck out 5 of the 13 hitters he faced. Turner also showed his arm strength from behind the plate throwing 78 mph to second base.

Casey Upperman  - RHP - 2009 - Phoenix, AZ - USA
Upperman can do many things on a baseball field. He was up to 88 on the mound with a good change-up, and he struck out 6 in 3 innings. Upperman showed his arm from the OF as well throwing 87. He topped it off by hitting a HR in game action.

David Washington  - 1B - 2009 - San Diego, CA - USA
Washington has a Major League frame, and is still projectable. He has a loose and easy swing with bat speed and leverage. Washington has the chance to be a power bat at the next level. Great upside.

Timothy Alvarez  - RHP - 2009 - Vista, CA - USA


Nolan Clark  - C - 2009 - Mission Viejo, CA - USA


Grant Nelson  - C - 2009 - San Mateo, CA - USA


Tanner Rust  - C - 2009 - Lakeside, CA - USA



2010 Top Prospects

Austin Marshall  - 1B - 2010 - Carlsbad, CA - USA
Marshall was the top 2010 at the event. He ran a sub-7.00 sixty, and showed good bat speed and power projection at the plate.

Erik Rowen  - SS - 2010 - Dublin, CA - USA
