Ostingers Baseball Academy 16U racked up 10 hits in their 4-0 win over Tampa Black Sox 16U. Tyler Doyle (2017, Newsome, FL) had two of those hits and an RBI.  Alex Six (2017, Tampa Prep, FL) pitched in with a single and a double.  Garrett Richardson (2019, Lithia, FL) doubled in a run. Trey Cruz (2018, Newsome, FL) threw two innings. He struck out three while not allowing a hit. 

Ryan Savitt (2018, Alonso, FL) had a double for Tampa in the loss. 

Hit Factory ties with Premier

Hit Factory 16U could not pull away and ended up tied with Premier Baseball Academy-Orlando 16U.  Austin Appel (2017, Wharton, FL) started for Hit Factory.  He struck out two and walked one in two innings of work.  Matthew Byars (2018, Durant, FL) pitched the other five innings. He fanned nine while allowing two walks. Gregory Barone (2017, King, FL) led the offense by driving in their only run with a single.

Isiah Gomez (2017, Osceola, FL) started for Premier. He lasted three innings and fanned five in the process.  Dillan Cardinale (2017, University, FL) came in for the fourth and fifth inning. He struck out three and walked one.  Justin Driscoll (2017, Freedom, FL) finished the game. He k'ed three in two perfect innings. 

Carrollwood Gators Dominate Championship

The Carrollwood Gators 2017 defeated the PBC Gameday Elite Underclass 7-0 in seven innings.

Kenny Rodriguez (2017, Tampa, FL) led the Gators by going a perfect 4-4 with three singles and a double while driving in two RBIs and scoring twice. Ryan Glass (2017, Lutz, FL) cracked a single while three runs scored, and Anthony Cassos (2017, Lutz, FL) added a pair of singles with a RBI and a run. Matthew Berube (2017, Lutz, FL) knocked a RBI single with a pair of runs. Tyler Lala (2017, Tampa, FL) contributed two singles for his team.

Alex Mocny (2017, Tampa, FL) took over the entire pitching duties for his team. He went all seven innings without a run to score while allowing four hits. He walked one batter while striking out seven. He maxed out the radar at 77 mph. He throws out of the 3/4 arm angle while throwing strikes. He competes on the mound while tossing an arm side run on his fastball. 

Kyle Khachadourian (2017, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) was the only player for the PBC Gameday to get an extra base hit with a double. Three other players added a single for his team.

Charlie Vonwerne (2018, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) was the most effective pitcher for his team. He went four innings while allowing one run and six hits. He walked two batters while on the bump. He ran the gun up to 78 mph. He throws easy with a long and loose arm action. He has a balanced, online, and smooth delivery. 

Errors Hurt Threshers in 5-3 Loss

The Carrollwood Gators 2017 defeated the Tampa Threshers 16U 5-3 in seven innings. 

Ryan Glass (2017, Lutz, FL) led the Gators with a pair of singles and a double while driving in two RBIs and a run. CJ Van Eyk (2017, Lutz, FL) helped himself with a RBI single.

Van Eyk tossed most of the game and was the most effective by going four innings. He gave up one run and two hits. He walked a pair of batters while striking out seven on his 85 mph fastball. He throws strikes while competing on the mound. He stays tall on his backside while pitching with arm side run on his fastball.

Eric Sennott (2018, Odessa, FL) tried to lead the Threshers by knocking two singles and driving in one RBI. Robby Martin (2018, Tampa, FL) knocked a double and a run. Jarrod Cande (2017, Tampa, FL) and Ryan Romano (2017, Tampa, FL) each added a single.

Martin led the pitching duties with five innings of work. He didn't let an earned run score while allowing two hits to fall. He walked three batters but struck out five on his 82 mph fastball. He has a long and loose arm action. He attacks hitters while throwing strikes. 


Canes Outhit PBC But Fall 4-2

The PBC Gameday Elite Underclass defeated the Florida Canes 16U 4-2 in seven innings.

Ruairi Murphy (2018, Jupiter, FL) led the PBC Gameday with a single and a double while driving in two RBIs. Kyle Khachadourian (2017, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) helped out by knocking in the other runs off his single. Parker Grahe (2018, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) contributed a single and a run.

Alex Garces (2017, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) tossed most of the game for his team with four strong innings. He let just one run score with five hits to fall. He walked one and struck out six while touching 77 mph with his fastball. Sean Maletzke (2018, Jupiter, FL) tossed the last three innings by allowing a run with four hits. He walked one batter and struck out two. He maxed out the gun at 74 mph.

Ihosvany Castaneda (2017, Hialeah, FL) tried to lead the Canes while knocking two singles with a RBI and a run. Jan Carlos Vento (2018, Pembroke Pines, FL) smoked two singles to help, and Ryan Deleon (2018, Cooper City, FL) contributed a RBI double. Kenneth Gonzalez (2018, Miramar, FL) added a double and later scored.

Roberto Pena (2018, Doral, FL) went the full game for his team. He let two earned runs score with five hits to fall. He struck out four while walking one. He ran the gun up to 77 mph. 

Four-run Fifth lifts Legends to 4-2 win

Thanks to a big four-run fifth inning, the Lakeland Legends of the Batters Box 16U defeated the Cape Cannons 15U, 4-2.

Brock Weirather (2017, All Saints Academy, FL) led the way, going 2-4 with two singles, one run scored, and two RBIs in the game.  Antonio Cozza (2017, Lakeland Senior HS, FL) finished 1-3 at the plate with a single and one run scored, and Jeffrey Corona (2018, Bartow Senior HS, FL) also contributed with a single and finished 1-3 at the plate as well.

Matthew Warren (2018, George W. Jenkins HS, FL) pitched four complete innings, giving up just one hit, no runs, and struck out four, while utilizing a fastball that topped out at 73 mph, and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches.

For the Cannons, Cory Hill (2017, Ida Baker HS, FL) went 1-3 with a single and one RBI, and Chris Sabo (2017, Ida Baker HS, FL) went 1-2 at the plate, with a single and one run scored.

Ostingers Baseball Academy 16U defeated the Team venue Aces 16U, 5-1, thanks to some late inning runs that put the Ostingers on top.

Harrison Thiel (2019, Parrish, FL) led the way for Ostingers, going 1-2 with a single, one run scored, and one RBI in the game.  Leadoff hitter Tyler Doyle (2017, Newsome HS, FL) went 1-2 as well, with a double and one run scored.  Matthew Kaslow (2016, Newsome HS, FL) pitched three complete innings, giving up no hits, no runs and struck out three.  He had a fastball that averaged 71-72/73 mph and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches.

For the Aces, D. Garcia finished 1-2 at the plate with a single, and Jack Schmidt (2017, Cooper City HS, FL) went 1-3 with a single as well.

The Tampa Threshers 16U edged by Canes Baseball Academy 16U, 7-5.

Jake Coleman (2018, Jefferson HS, FL) went 1-2 for the Threshers, with a double, one run scored and one RBI.  Eric Sennott (2018, Steinbrenner HS, FL) went 1-3 with a single and one run scored, and Antonio Jenkins (2017, Hillsborough HS, FL) went 1-2 with a single and one RBI in the game.  Coleman also pitched four complete innings of work, giving up no earned runs, three hits, and struck out four on the day.

For the Canes Baseball, Nicolas Gonzalez (2019, Coral Shores HS, FL) sparked the offense going 2-3 with two singles, and one run scored.  Kevin Mauras (2018, Miami Coral Park HS, FL) went 2-4 with a double, single, one run, and one RBI in the game.


Florida Canes defeat Ostingers Baseball

The Florida Canes 16U defeated Ostingers Baseball Academy 16U, 4-1.

Leadoff hitter Carlos Maldonado (2017, Somerset Academy Charter, FL) led the way for the Canes offense, going 2-3 with two singles and two RBIs in the game.   Kenneth Gonzalez (2018, Monsignor Edward Pace, FL) also contributed to the offense, by going 1-2 with a double.  Juan Rodriguez (2017, Mater Academy Lakes HS, FL) pitched five complete innings of work, giving up just one hit, no runs, and struck out three.  He showed good control and was around the plate with all of his pitches, while utilizing a good fastball that averaged 86-89/89 mph, and mixed in a good changeup, along with a curveball for his off-speed pitches.

For Ostingers Baseball, Danny Neely (2018, Newsome HS, FL) and Zach Benson (2019, Lithia, FL) each finished 1-2 at the plate with a double a piece, and Benson also had one run scored in the game.


PBC Gameday Elite cruise to Shutout Win

PBC Gameday Elite Underclass grabbed the shutout victory, defeating CRFS Baseball 16U, 11-0, in four innings of play.

Mike Entenza (2017, Forest Hill Community, FL) led the way for Gameday, going 1-3 with a single, three runs scored, and one RBI.  Jack Virden (2018, William T. Dwyer HS, FL) went 1-3 as well, with a single and two RBIs on the day.  Despite going 0-3 at the plate, Alex Garces (2017, Forest Hill Community, FL) recorded two runs scored, and three RBIs in the game.

Kyle Khachadourian (2017, William T. Dwyer HS, FL) pitched a complete game, giving up four hits and struck out four, in three complete innings of work.  He displayed a fastball that averaged 75-78 mph and topped out at 81 mph, while mixing in a curveball and a handful of changeups for his off-speed pitches.

For CRFS, Oraj Anu (2017, Colonial HS, FL) went 1-2 with a double, and Yaison Reinoso (2017, Oakridge HS, FL) and Eldridge Figueroa (2018, Oviedo HS, FL) each finished 1-2 as well, with a single a piece in the game.

The Carrollwood Gators 2017 cruised to the shutout victory, defeating Premier Baseball Academy-Orlando 16U, 8-0.

Patrick Morris (2017, Steinbrenner HS, FL) and Kenny Rodriguez (2017, Gaither HS, FL) each led the way, going 2-3 with a double a piece.  Morris finished with a single, one run, and two RBIs, and Rodriguez also had a triple, one run scored and two RBIs as well on the day.  Alex Mocny (2017, Jesuit HS, FL) finished 2-4 with a triple of his own, a single, one run and one RBI.

CJ Van Eyk (2017, Steinbrenner HS, FL) pitched four innings of work, giving up no hits and struck out five, with a fastball that averaged 82-85/86 mph, and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches as well.

For Premier Baseball, Cale Jones (2017, Freedom HS, FL) and Markeys Taveras (2018, Osceola HS, FL) each finished 1-2 at the plate.


CRFS Fights Back to Tie Canes At 3

The CRFS Baseball 16U tied the Canes Baseball Academy 16U 3-3 at the end of seven innings.

Ricordo Grajales (2017, Aguada, PR) led the surge for the Canes with a trio of sinlges and a run. Nicolas Gonzalez (2019, Homestead, FL) contributed a single and a double while touching home once. Medina added a RBI single. Tyler Grant (2018, Miami, FL) connected with a single and scored once. 

Gonzalez tossed most of the game with three innings. He let one earned score with three hits to fall. He did not walk a batter and struck out two. He ran the gun up to 79 mph with his fastball. Kevin Mauras (2018, Homestead, FL) went two strong innings with a run and two hits to fall. He walked one and struck out two on his 83 mph fastball. 

Yaison Reinoso (2017, Kissimmee, FL) led the CRFS with a single and a home run while ending with two RBIs. Eldrige J Figueroa (2018, Kissimmee, FL) helped with a single and a run, and Felix Cabrera (2017, Kissimmee, FL) cracked a RBI single. 

Joshua Rivenbark (2017, Winter Park, FL) went most of the game with 5.1 innings of work. He let one earned run score with nine hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out two. He maxed out the radar at 71 mph. 

Tampa Black Sox defeat SBO Florida 6-3

The Tampa Black Sox 16U defeated the SBO Florida 16U, 6-3.

Jordan Perez (2019, Tampa Catholic HS, FL) led the Black Sox offense, going a perfect 2-2 with a double, single, one run scored and two RBIs.  Michael Haydak (2018, Plant HS, FL) contributed by going 1-3 with a single and one run scored.  Caleb Holt (2018, Plant HS, FL) pitched a complete game, giving up two earned runs on seven hits, and struck out six, utilizing a fastball that hit 72 mph, and mixed in a handful of curveballs for his off-speed pitch.

For SBO Florida, Christian Perez (2019, International Baseball Academy, PR) went 1-1 with a double and one run scored in the game.

Carrollwood Gators 2017's offense exploded for 11 hits in their 12-0 win over SBO Florida 16U.  CJ Van Eyk (2017, Steinbrenner, FL) had two of those hits including a double.  Matthew Berube (2017, Steinbrenner, FL)) drove in three runs with a single.  Kenny Rodriguez (2017, Gaither, FL) doubled in two runs.  Ryan Glass (2017, Steinbrenner, FL) pitched in with two singles and an RBI. Patrick Morris (2017, Steinbrenner, FL) hit a tripled which plated one. 

Lead-off hitter Juan Rodriguez (2017, Coral Glades, FL) had a single for SBO.

Florida Canes 16U added insurance runs in the sixth and went on to beat Team Avenue Aces 16U. Luis Perez (2017, Somerset Academy, FL) led the offense with two singles and an RBI.  Jan Carlos Vento (2018, Somerset Academy, FL) drove in two runs with a single.  Mykanthony Valdez (2019, Mater Academy, FL) did his part with three hits, one being a double, and drove in two runs. 

Trevor Wever (2017, Navarre, FL) had a double in the loss for the Aces.  Jeremy Brower (2017, Cooper City, FL) drove in a run with a single. 

Hit Factory starts day off with a win

Hit Factory 16U scored their runs early and held on to beat Cape Cannons 15U 9-6.  Adam Sevier (2017, Durant, FL) led the offense with two hits including a double and four RBI's.  Nicky Gibbs (2017, Bartow Senior, FL) drove in two runs with a single.  Mitchell Carter (2017, Tampa Catholic, FL) went 2 for 3 and came around to touch home plate twice. Andrew Bello started and lasted three innings. He struck out four while allowing four hits and two walks.

Cody Hill (2017, Ida Baker, FL) had a great day at the plate for the Cannons. He had three hits including a triple.  Dillion Walczak (2017, Ida Baker, FL) pitched in with a double and drove in three runs.  Lead-off hitter  Cory Hill (2017, Ida Baker, FL) helped out with two singles. 

Threshers Topple PBC 5-0 in Seven Innings

The Tampa Threshers 16U defeated the PBC Gameday Elite Underclass 5-0 in seven innings.

For the Threshers, Nicolas Romano (2017, Tampa, FL) led the team with singles and a run, and Jarrod Cande (2017, Tampa, FL) with a single and a double with a RBI along with a run. Jack Rodriguez (2018, Tampa, FL) and Eric Sennott (2018, Odessa, FL) cracked a RBI single and scored once each.

Romano led the pitching duties with three innings of work. He didn't give up a run and let one hit fall. He walked three batters and struck out two while running the gun up to 79 mph. He has good command of his fastball while being aggressive. 

Alex Garces (2017, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) was the only offense for PBC with two double in his three at bats.


Lakeland Legends Burst 6 Runs in First

The Lakeland Legends of the Batters Box 16U defeated the Hialeah Warriors 16U 9-4 in six innings.

For the Legends, Patrick Cheuvront (2018, Tampa, FL) led the surge with a pair of singles with three RBIs, and Dawson Lane (2017, Lakeland, FL) connected with two singles with a RBI. Matthew Costilow (2017, Tampa, FL) added a single with a RBI and three runs, and Joey Stancombe (2018, Lakeland, FL) knocked a single while scoring twice. Jeffrey Corona (2017, Lakeland, FL) also helped out with a RBI single and a run.

Dalton Cook (2018, Lakeland, FL) tossed most of the game with 3.1 innings. He gave up two runs and only one hit. He walked four batters and struck out two. He ran the gun up to 70 mph.

For the Warriors, Daniel Nieto (2016, Hialeah, FL) led the team with a RBI triple and a run. Rey Alvarez (2017, Hialeah, FL) connected with a RBI single, and Michael Esposito (2017, Chester, NJ) cracked a single and scored once.

Grant helps lift Canes over Hit Factory

Canes Baseball Academy 16u defeated Hit Factory 16u 6-5 overcoming a first inning deficit.  The Canes' offense was led by Tyler Grant (2018, Gulliver Schools, FL) who made very hard contact at the plate going 2-3 with 1 double, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 2 stolen bases.  Ricordo Grajales (2017, Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy HS, PR) also showed well going 2-4 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.  Alexarmando Diaz (2017, Colegio San Ignacio De Loyola HS, PR) posted a 1-2 day with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 walk.  

Enzo Evangelista (2017, Keys Center HS, FL) had a very strong outing on the mound tossing 4 shutout innings of relief allowing only 2 hits and recording 8 strikeouts.  He was around the plate and attacked hitters using a 74-77/78 mph fastball while working in a 65-68 mph curveball.  

For the Hit Factory, Austin Appel (2017, Wharton HS, FL) went 1-1 with 1 double.  Jesse Hunter (2018, Bloomingdale HS, FL) and Andrews each added in a 1-1 day with 1 RBI.  

Vargo dominates in Premier win

Premier Baseball Academy-Orlando 16u defeated the Tampa Black Sox 4-1 early in Saturday's action.  Premier starter, Jaret Vargo (2017, Olympia HS, FL), was dominant in his outing going all 7 innings allowing 1 run on 8 hits and 3 walks, and striking out 10 batters.  On the mound Vargo featured a 62-66/68 mph fastball and mixed in a 52-58/60 mph curveball and a 56-61/63 mph changeup.  

Offensively Premier was led by Isiah Gomez (2017, Osceola HS, FL) who went 1-1 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Cale Jones (2017, Freedom HS, FL) also showed well as he went 2-3 and Grant Galy (2018, Bishop Moore HS, FL) added in a 1-2 day with 1 run scored.  

For the Black Sox, Michael Haydak (2018, Plant HS, FL) went 2-3 with 1 stolen base and Walker Thomas (2018, Plant HS, FL) went 1-3 and knocked in the team's lone run.  

Glass K's 8 in Gators win

The Carrollwood Gators 2017 defeated the Florida Canes 16u 3-0 to win their first game of the tournament.  Gators' starter, Ryan Glass (2017, Steinbrenner HS, FL), tossed 6 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 2 runs, while striking out 8 batters.  While on the mound, Glass featured good command of his 69-72/73 mph fastball and mixed in a good high 50's curveball.  

Offensively the Gators were led by Alex Mocny (2017, Jesuit HS, FL) who used an aggressive approach and good bat speed as he went 2-3 with 1 double and 2 runs scored.  Patrick Morris (2017, Steinbrenner HS, FL) also had a strong day at the plate going 1-2 with 1 double on the day.  Kenny Rodriguez (2017, Gaither HS, FL) showed raw power at the plate going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  

For the Canes, Ihosvany Castaneda (2017, Monsignor Edward Pace HS, FL) did his part going 1-2 with 1 double.

Rodriguez touches 89 mph

Juan Rodriguez (2017, Mater Academy Lakes, FL) pitched three quality innings for Florida Canes 16U in their 3-1 win over SBO Florida 16U.  He allowed just one hit and struck out seven. He threw an impressive fastball that was in the high 80's and touched 89 mph.  Jan Carlos Vento (2018, Somerset Academy, FL) came in next and threw three innings. He fanned four and allowed two hits. Ryan Deleon (2018, Archbishop Edward McCarthy, FL) led the offense with a single that drove in a run.  Luis Perez (2017, Somerset Academy Charter, FL) doubled in a run in the win. 

Justin McDaniels (2017, Coral Glades, FL) started for Florida. He lasted four innings and struck out four. 

Canes score 10 in win

A big first inning lifted Canes Baseball Academy 16U over Cape Cannons 15U in their 10-0 win. Ricky Santana (2017, Melbourne Central, FL) led the offense with a double that drove in two runs.  Nicholas Gonzalez (2019, Coral Shores, FL) went 2 for 2 and came around to touch home plate both times.  Kevin Mauras (2018, Miami Coral Park, FL) pitched in with a double and an RBI. Josue Morales (2017, Academia Adventista Del Norte, PR) pitched three innings and fanned six.  He did not give up a walk and allowed just one hit.His fastball was between 77-80 mph and touched 81. 

Cory Hill (2017, Ida Baker, FL) had one of Cannons two hits in the loss.

Tampa Threshers 16U's pitching staff held Hialeah Warriors 16U to just on hit in their 3-1 win.  Jack Rodriguez (2018, Jefferson, FL) started and lasted four innings. He fanned two and walked two.  Robby Martin (2018, Jefferson, FL) came in to finish the game. He struck out three and allowed a hit in three innings of work. His fastball was in the high 70's and touched 82 mph. Jarrod Cande (2017, Hillsborough, FL) singled home a run for Tampa.  Antonio Jenkins (2017, Hillsborough, FL) went 1 for 3 with a double. 

Jesus Reinaldo (2015, Hialeah-Miami Lakes, FL) pitched 3 1/3 quality innings for the Warriors. He struck out three and allowed four hits but did not walk a batter.

CRFS Baseball 16U scored three in the second inning and held on to beat Cape Cannons 15U 4-1.  Oraj Anu (2017, Colonial, FL) led the offense with two singles and an RBI. Christopher Peter (2018, Lake Brantley, FL) pitched six quality innings. He fanned three while allowing just one hit. 

Cannon's had great pitching.  Chris Sabo (2017, Ida Baker, FL) started and lasted four innings.  He struck out two and allowed three hits.  Goodman came in next. In three innings, he struck out five and gave up two hits.

CRFS Baseball 16U edges by Hit Factory 16U, 1-0, thanks to a third-inning run that proved to be the difference in the end.

Brandon Reining (2017, Boone HS, FL) pitched a complete game for CRFS, giving up just two hits and struck out three.  He had a fastball that averaged 75-78/80 mph, while also mixing in a handful of curveballs and a few changeups for his off-speed pitches.

At the plate for CRFS, Jose Velazquez (2017, Oakridge HS, FL) after being walked in the third, came around to score the only run of the ball game.

For Hit Factory, Jesse Hunter (2018, Bloomingdale HS, FL) pitched a complete game no-hitter, going six innings and struck out six, while also showing some struggles on the mound with allowing seven walks.

The Ostingers Baseball Academy 16U grabbed the shutout victory over Premier Baseball Academy-Orlando16U, 5-0.

Harrison Thiel (2019, Parrish, FL) led the Ostingers offense, going 1-2 with a single, one run, two stolen bases, and one RBI in the contest.  Pablo Garabitos (2018, Lakewood Ranch HS, FL) and Matt Kenney (2018, Newsome HS, FL) each finished 1-3 in the game.  Garabitos finished with a single and two RBIs, and Kenney had a single and two runs scored.

For Premier Baseball, Cale Jones (2017, Freedom HS, FL) went 1-3 with a single, and Cameron Broughton (2017, South Lake HS, FL) went 1-2 with a single as well.

Anthony Cassos (2017, Steinbrenner HS, FL) led the way on both the offensive and defensive ends for the Gators, going 1-2 at the plate with a double, stolen base, and two RBIs.  He also pitched three innings, giving up just one hit and struck out four.  He had a fastball that averaged 78-80/81 mph.

Patrick Morris (2017, Steinbrenner HS, FL) went 2-3 at the plate, with a double, single, and one RBI.  Ryan Glass (2017, Steinbrenner HS, FL) also went 2-3 with two singles and one run scored.

For the Aces, Richard Larin (2017, West Broward HS, FL) went 1-1 with a single and one RBI in the game.


Gameday Elite defeat Lakeland Legends

The PBC Gameday Elite Underclass used some early run support, as they defeated the Lakeland Legends of the Batters Box 16U, 2-0.

The Gameday offense was led by Rawley Moyer (2018, Martin County HS, FL) as he went 1-1 in the contest, with a single and two RBIs.  Ruairi Murphy (2018, Jupiter HS, FL) also contributed to the offensive production by going 1-1 as well, with a single, and one run scored.

Mike Entenza (2017, Forest Hill Community, FL) pitched five complete innings of work, giving up just one hit and struck out seven in the game.  He showed a good fastball that averaged 76-78 mph while also flashing a good, late-breaking, curveball.  He showed good command and was effective around the plate throwing strikes well.

For the Legends, Brock Weirather (2017, All Saints Academy, FL) and Jeffrey Corona (2017, Bartow Senior, FL) each went 1-3 with a single a piece in the game.  Weirather also pitched a complete game on the mound striking out five, and gave up two earned runs on four hits.


Threshers win over the Lakeland Legends

The Tampa Threshers 16u defeated the Lakeland Legends of the Batters Box 16u 8-3 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  The Threshers' offense was led by Jarrod Cande (2017, Hillsborough HS, FL) who went 2-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Eric Sennott (2018, Steinbrenner HS, FL) and Jack Rodriguez (2018, Jefferson HS, FL) each went 1-2 in the game with 2 runs scored and 1 walk, while Sennott also picked up 1 RBI.  

Garrett Sheppard (2017, Jesuit HS, FL) earned the win for the Threshers going 2 1/3 innings on the mound and striking out 3.  Sheppard used a 73-77/78 mph fastball with armside run and flashed a 68-71 mph changeup that had had armside run as well.  

For the Legends, Elking Nunez (2017, Lake Gibson Senior HS, FL) went 1-2 with 1 double, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Matthew Warren (2018, George W. Jenkins HS, FL) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  

SBO Florida falls to Aces

A couple big innings lift Team Avenue Aces 16U over SBO Florida 16U in their 8-0 win.  Jeremey Brower (2017, Cooper City, FL) pitched five solid innings and fanned nine. He allowed just two hits and a walk. His fastball touched 79 mph.  Cameron Stadler (2017, Cooper City, FL) led the offense with a triple that drove in three runs.  Richard Larin (2017, West Broward, FL) doubled in two while Scott Gutstein (2017, Cooper City, FL) went 2 for 2 in the win. 

S. Castro started for SBO. He fanned four and allowed four hits in three innings of work .
