Garcia Leads to Blow Out 5th Inning

The Yuma Beast Baseball defeated the BBC Generals 8-3 in six innings.

The Yuma Beast's fell down early, but blew the game wide open with six run 5th.

Sammy Garcia (2017, Yuma, AZ) went 1-3 with a bases clearing triple to add to the comeback for the Beasts. He also touched home once in the game. Mauro Muela (2017, Yuma, AZ) went a perfect 1-1 with a RBI and two runs. Danny Urbieta (2018, Yuma, AZ) added on a hit with a RBI.

Jay Fleck (2018, Yuma, AZ) got the win going four innings and only surrendering one run. He was able to strike out two and let five hits fall. 

The BBC Generals had six different hitters total the six total hits for the team. Parker Coyle (2018, Chandler, AZ) led the team with a hit and two RBIs in the game. Josh Gonzales (2018, Apache Junction, AZ) cracked a triple in the game.

Coyle also pitched for the Generals going most of the game and striking out nine. He only allowed two hits but let three earned runs touch home. 


Reeves Shuts Down Future Stars 7-0

The Ball Club defeated the Arizona Future Stars 14's 7-0 in seven innings. 

JJ Reeves held the Future Stars to one hit in a complete game shut out. He was able to strike out eight in his seven innings of work. 

Reeves also led the team with two hits and two RBIs. Peralta and Jarrett Wolfe (2018, Gilbert, AZ) tacked on a hit of their own with a RBI and a run. Conner Thurman (2018, Gilbert, AZ) added on with a hit of his own and touched home twice. The Team Club tallied seven total hits in the game.

Matthew Olsen (2018, Florence, AZ), for the Arizona Future Stars 14's, came in relief and tossed the last four innings while striking out seven batters. He maxed out at 76 mph while ranging from 68- 75 mph. Kade Leveen (2019, Cave creek, AZ) was the only batter to tack on a hit for the Future Stars. 

Errors Hurt Arizona RBI in 6-3 Loss

The AV Aztecs defeated the Arizona RBI 6-3 in seven innings.

Arizona RBI had late heroics with a two spot in the seventh inning, but down 6-1, wasn't enough for comeback.

Atom Melton (2018, Huachuca City, AZ) started for SV Aztecs and received the winning. Melton went the complete game diving up five hits while striking out 12 opponents. He was able to top out at 76 mph while ranging from 68 to 73 mph. 

Melton also led the offense in the clean up spot. He went 2-4 with two RBIs and two runs. Joseph Whalen (2018, Sierra Vista, AZ) and Ronaldio Amaral (2019, Sierra Vista, AZ) both went 2-4 with two runs. 

Alex Spiller (2017, Albuquerque, NM) started for Arizona RBI and was neck and neck to Melton. He struck out five in his six innings of work. He only gave up two earned runs on seven hits. Anthony Medrano (2018, Pheonix, AZ) pitched the last inning giving up two hits and striking out one. 

Nico Vigil (2019, Pheonix, AZ) and Spiller led the offense for RBI cracking two hits each. Spiller plated two runs and Vigil touched home once. 

Cavs Offense too much for Big Chuy

The CBA Cavs 2018 defeated the Big Chuy Rockts 12-3 in five innings.

For the CBA Cavs, Kelvin Bender (2019, Inglewood, CA) hurled the entire game allowing two earned runs to cross on three hits. He was able to average a strike out an inning. Bender topped out at 75 mph while ranging from 71 to 74 mph. 

Offensviely, the Cavs tallied 13 hits total. Daniel Perez (2018, Lawndale, CA) knocked thee hits to lead the team. He also tallied two RBIs and two runs. Steve Ricard (2018, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) matched but did so on only two hits. Ja'Craron Bellinger (2018, Los Angeles, CA) notched two hits too and crossed home twice in the matchup.

For the Rockets, they threw two pitchers. Mike Gerardo (2017, Nogales, AZ) started and went most of the game. He was able to strike out seven during his work. Javier Bojorquez (2016, Douglas, AZ) finished the game giving up two hits and striking out one. He was able to help himself offensively by getting a RBI and walking three times. Jesus Lopez (2017, Rio Rico, AZ) went 1-3 with a RBI.

Four Hit Shutout for Alarcon, Win 6-0

Team Phenom defeated Warriors Baseball Academy 2018 6-0 in seven innings.

Diego Alarcon (2017, Lennox, CA) took the mound and received the win for Team Phenom. He went all seven innings and only allowed four hits in his work. Alarcon topped out at 78 mph and ranged from 72 to 74 mph. He struck out eight while not walking any batters in his impressive outing. 

Offensively, Team Phenom collected nine hits. Daniel Mendez (2018, Chino, CA) led the team going 2-3 with two RBIs and a walk. He tallied a double and single along with one walk. Brandon Rho (2018, Fullerton, CA) joined in on the action with a double of his own with three RBIs in the matchup. Austin Wells (2018, Henderson, NV) went 1-2 with a RBI and a walk. 

Warriors Baseball Academy 2018 sent four different into the game. Jacob Robson (2018, Glendale, AZ) came in second in relief and tossed 24 pitches in his one inning of work. He topped out at 77 mph. Dominik Zubia (2018, Pheoniz, AZ) showed the most consistency for the Warriors going the last inning and striking out two. 

On the other side of the ball, four different hitters got a hit each. Sasha Sneider (2018, Peoria, AZ), Dominik Demarbiex (2018, Goodyear, AZ), Antonio Brito (2018, Litchfield Park, AZ), and Robson were the select players to make solid contact. Sneider was the only player to tack on an extra base hit. 

Hampton leads way for Warriors in win

Behind the arm of Griffin Hampton (2018, Chaparral HS, AZ), the Warriors Baseball Academy 2018 defeated the Desert Cats 9-0 in the semifinals of the 2014 14U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic.

Hampton completed all seven innings, giving up just six hits, no earned runs, and seven strikeouts.  His fastball averaged 74-76mph and topped out at 78 mph.  He was also able to mix in a few curveballs throughout the contest.

The Warriors 2-6 hitters in the lineup combined for 12 of the 14 hits in the game.  Sasha Sneider (2018, Thunderbird HS, AZ) went 2-3 with a double and three runs scored.  Dominik Demarbiex (2018, Verrado HS, AZ) went 3-4 with a double and three runs scored.  Antonio Brito (2018, Verrado HS, AZ) was 2-4 with three RBIs and one run scored.  Jack Silverman (2018, Desert Mountain HS, AZ) was 2-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base.  Jacob Robson (2018, Mountain Ridge HS, AZ) went 3-4 with a double and two RBIs.

For the Desert Cats, Andy Kupec (2018, Centennial HS, AZ) and Tyler Pruitt (2018, Sunrise Mountain HS, AZ) both went 1-3 with a double a piece.  Pruitt also pitched four innings, with a fastball that was 72-74 mph and topped at 76 mph.

The Warriors Baseball Academy 2018 will face Team Phenom in the Championship.


Dirt Dawgs and Unleashed Battle to 4-4 Tie

Dirt Dawgs and Unleashed battled to a 4-4 tie after seven innings of matching blows. Both teams got standout performances from individuals in their lineups, with Dirt Dawgs being led by Mark Gomar (Diamond Bar, CA, 2018) and Unleashed powered by John Figueroa (El Paso, TX, 2017). Gomar went 2-3 at the plate and picked up a double, two stolen bases and two runs scored and was countered by Figueroa and his 2-3 effort at the plate while picking up two RBIs and a triple. 

Unleashed was able to get five innings out of starting pitcher Luis Padilla (El Paso, 2021) who allowed five hits and one unearned run while walking one and striking out nine. Padilla used a three pitch rotation and a fastball that averaged 77 mph and topped out at 80 mph. 

The Dirt Dawgs got the most work from hurler Ryan Daugherty (Ladera Ranch, CA, 2018), who spend five innings on the mound and allowed five hits and one earned run, while walking three walks and striking out five. 

Stealth lose early lead to fall 3-2 in Semis

Stetson Hills Stealth falls to Team Phenom 3-2 after taking an early lead in the ball game.  Team Phenom advances to the Championship game of the 2014 14U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic.

Sean Osceola (2018, Middle School, FL) pitched a complete game for Phenom, giving up no earned runs on four hits while striking out 10 in the contest.  He showed a fastball between 78-80 mph that topped out at 81 mph.  He also was able to affectively mix in some curveballs for off-speed.  Daniel Mendez (2018, Middle School, CA) went 1-3 at the plate with two RBIs.

For Stetson, Mason Millett (2017, Boulder Creek HS, AZ) went six innings, and had a fastball that averaged 77-78/79 mph.  Zachary Griffin (2017, Sandra Day O'Connor HS, AZ) pitched the last inning, and he displayed a fastball that topped out at 81 mph.  Leadoff hitter Nolan Gorman (2018, Sandra Day O'Connor HS, AZ) went 1-3 at the plate with a run scored.

Team Phenom will face Warriors Baseball Academy 2018 in the Championship.


Rakers Cruise To 9-1 Victory

The Reggie Smith Rakers scored early and often and cruised to a 9-1 victory over the Colorado Wild in six innings. The Rakers were able to overcome three fielding errors and only needed seven hits to record eight team RBIs and their nine runs. Brandon Iglesias (Venice, CA, 2018) was the driving force behind the Rakers' offense, going 1-2 at the plate while picking up three RBIs and the game's only multiple-base hit with a double in the bottom of the first. 

Blaine Traxel (Burbank, CA, 2018) takes the win for the Rakers. Traxel tossed four innings of scoreless baseball and allowed only two hits and no walks while striking out six with a fastball that averaged 68 mph, topping out at 74 mph and was able to find the strike zone on 81 percent of his pitches. 

Nalu Angoco (Aurora, CA, 2019) is credited with the loss for the Colorado Wild after four innings of work on the mound. Angoco allowed six hits and six runs, two allowed, while walking three and striking out one. 

Team Phenom Seal Victory 7-2

Team Phenom Red powered five runs in early and cruised to a 7-2 victory over So Cal Select Baseball Club. Phenom notched a team total 13 steals; getting four steals from Tyler Vargas (Palmdale, CA, 2018) and three from Gavyn Cundari (Canyon Lake, CA, 2018). Vargas powered the Phenom offense, going a perfect 2-2 at the plate and picking up two RBIs and a run scored on the way. 

Tyler Bardowell (Fontana, CA, 2018) worked the mound all seven innings for Team Phenom, picking up the win and allowing six hits and two unearned runs while walking none and striking out four with a fastball averaging 68 mph. and topping out at 77 mph.

Wilson Okazaki (San Diego, CA, 2018) is credited with the loss after one inning of relief work in the fourth. Okazaki allowed one hit and two runs, all earned, while walking three and striking out none

ATH Overcome Early Deficit, Win 3-2

Cleats Pilots 14U had built up a two run lead, but were unable to hold back ATH Academy and fell 3-2 in seven innings. ATH leaned on their defense and were rewarded with five double plays, two by Cade Morgan (2017, Newbury Park, CA). Brandon Nolfo (Simi Valley, CA, 2018) led the offensive attack for ATH, going 2-3 at the top of the lineup and picking up a run scored. Nolan Levett (Surprise, AZ, 2018) went a perfect 2-2 at the plate with an RBI for the Pilots, but was unable to spark the offense when it mattered most.

Tyler Kennedy (Newbury Park, CA, 2018) takes the win for ATH for his six innings on the mound, allowing five hits and two runs, one earned, while walking two and striking out four. Kennedy used a three pitch rotation with a fastball clocking in at an average of 72 mph and topping out at 75 mph.

Tyler Wossner (Phoenix, AZ, 2018) spend the first four innings working the mound for the Pilots where he allowed three hits and one unearned run while walking two and striking out five. Wossner used a balanced and online delivery and a fastball averaging 71 mph and topping out at 74 mph before being relieved in the fifth inning by Joseph Mastroddi (Peoria, AZ, 2018). Mastroddi takes the loss after one inning on work where he allowed one hit and one unearned run with no walks and two strikeouts.

Cavs Rally, Win 5-2

The MVP Red Sox were able to get on the scoreboard first, but were unable to overcome a furious rally by the CBA Cavs 2017 and fell 5-2. Fifteen players from both registered a total of 19 combined hits in an impressive hitting display, but only one team was able to convert those hits into runs. Aaron Orozco (Gardena, CA, 2017) led the offense for the Cavs going 2-3 at the plate and registering two RBIs and the game's only multiple-base hit with a triple on the first at-bat of the game. Joeseph Barone (Simi Valley, CA, 2018) and Zack Kariya (Oak Park, CA, 2018) both went 2-3 at the plate for a Rex Sox offense that totaled nine hits in a losing effort with Barone also registering an RBI and a walk.

Jermaine Carr (Los Angeles, CA, 2017) spent the first five innings on the mound for the Cavs and allowed seven hits and two unearned runs while walking two and striking out six before being relieved in the sixth by Julian Gracian (Diamond Bar, CA, 2017). Gracian is credited with the win for his one inning of scoreless work, allowing two hits while walking and striking out none.

Jonah Scott (Oak Park, CA, 2018) takes the loss for the Red Sox for his full game spent on the rubber. Scott allowed ten hits and five runs, three earned, while walking one and striking out one.

Offense leads way for Team Phenom

The offense unloads for 11 hits for Team Phenom, in a 7-3 win over Tucson Champs 14u (Royals) in a quarterfinals matchups in the 2014 14U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic.

Emilio Vasquez (2017, Mt. Eden HS, CA) went 3-3 on the day for Phenom, with a run scored and a stolen base.  Jordan Keller (2019, Woodcrest Christian HS, CA) went 2-3 with an RBI.  Sean Osceola (2018, Middle School, FL) went 1-3 with a double and an RBI.  On the mound, Alexander Williams (2018, Redwood Christian Jr-Sr HS, CA) pitched 2.1 innings, striking out three, and flashing a fastball that averaged 80-81 mph and topped out at 83 mph.

Jacob Maze (2017, California HS, CA) struck out both batters faced, with a 74-76 mph average fastball, that reached 77 mph.  Eric Chavarria (2017, Mayfair HS, CA) pitched 2.1 innings, and had a fastball that averaged 75-77/78 mph.  Everett Hurst also threw hard, with a fastball that topped out at 79 mph.

For Tucson Champs, Saul Escarrega (2018, Sahuarita HS, AZ) was 1-2 at the plate, with a double, an RBI and a run scored.  George Arias (2018, Salpointe Catholic HS, AZ) went two innings, flashing a fastball averaging 75-78/78 mph, while also mixing in a variety of off-speed pitches as well.  Ryon Craig (2017, Cienega HS, AZ) went three innings, and had a fastball that averaged 75-77/78 mph, and mixed in a handful of curveballs.


Fifth Inning Explosion Nets Titans 11-3 Win

The EJ Sports Titans 2018 broke a fifth inning tie in a big way, scoring eight runs and taking a 11-3 victory over Slammers Epic. The Titans recorded five of their 11 total team hits in the bottom of the fifth on their way to the blowout win. Andrew Glover (Alamo, CA, 2018) and Ian Villers (Walnut Creek, CA, 2018) powered the Titan offense with Glover going a perfect 3-3 at the plate with a double, an RBI, a stolen base, and two runs scored and Villers complementing with a 2-4 effort and three RBIs. 

Villers also takes home the win for his five innings spent on the mound for the Titans, allowing four hits and three runs, one earned, while walking one and striking out seven with a fastball averaging 74 mph. and topping out at 78 mph. 

Kody Kellogg (Aurora, CO, 2018) is credited with the loss for Slammers Epic after putting in four and two-thirds innings on the rubber. Kellogg allowed eight hits and five runs, all earned, while walking five and striking out three with a five pitch repertoire with a fastball clocking in at an average of 70 mph. and topping out at 74 mph. 

Three run sixth seals win for Warriors

Warriors Baseball Academy 2018 defeated SO CAL SKLZ in a back-and-forth battle, 6-2, in the quarterfinals of the 2014 14U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic.

Sasha Sneider (2018, Thunderbird HS, AZ) went 2-3 in the game, with a double, triple, two RBIs, and two runs scored.  Jacob Robson (2018, Mountain Ridge HS, AZ) went 1-3 with a double, two RBIs, and one stolen base.  On the mound, Antonio Brito (2018, Verrado HS, AZ) pitched a complete game, striking out three and only giving up one walk.  He was affective with a fastball that averaged 71-74 mph and topped at 76 mph, while also mixing in a handful of off-speed pitches.

Nick Donnelly (2018, Poway HS, CA) went 1-2 at the plate for SO CAL with a double and one run scored.  Jared Jackson (2018, La Costa Canyon HS, CA) threw 3.2 innings, striking out 6, and showed off a fastball that averaged 75-78/78 mph.


Washington Select Rout Black Sox 10-1

Washington Select showed off their hitting power and routed the South Texas Black Sox 10-1 in five innings. Washington needed only seven hits to score their 10 runs and were led on offense by Gavin Grant (Puyallup, WA, 2018) and Alex Shanks (Mercer Island, WA, 2018). Grant went 2-4 at the plate with two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base while Shanks went a perfect 2-2 with two runs scored, a walk and a double. Jarret Biela (San Antonio, TX, 2018) notched half of the Black Sox four hits and the defense turned two triple plays, but it was not enough to take the win.

Alex Olague (Renton, WA, 2018) takes home the win for Washington Select after putting in four innings of work on the mount. Olague allowed three hits and one earned run while walking one and striking out seven batters before being relieved in the fifth by Jordan Duenas (Bremerton, WA, 2017). Duenas allowed one hit and no runs with a strikeout in the final inning of the game.

Garrett Corkran (Seguin, TX, 2018) is credited with the loss for the Black Sox for his two and a third innings of effort on the mound. Corkran allowed seven hits and ten runs, seven earned, while walking five and striking out one before being relieved in the third by Nick Serrato (Helotex, TX, 2018). Serrato held Washington hitless over the final two and two-thirds innings while walking two and striking out two. 

Stetson offense explodes in 9-2 victory

The Stetson Hills Stealth offense erupts with 14 hits as they defeated the Albuquerque Baseball Academy- Columbus 14s 14-2 in the Quarterfinals of the 2014 14U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic.

Parker Redd (2018, Pinnacle HS, AZ) went 3-5 in the game with a double, an RBI, a run scored, and one stolen base.  Leadoff hitter Nolan Gorman (2018,Sandra Day O`Connor HS, AZ) was 2-5 with a triple, two runs scored, and a stolen base as well.  Jonathan Ornelas (2018, Raymond S. Kellis HS, AZ) was 3-4 with three runs scored and an RBI.  On the mound Calvin Schapira (2018, Pinnacle HS, AZ) went six innings giving up just two hits while striking out five.  His fastball averaged 74-75 mph and topped at 77 mph.

For Albuquerque, Jack Murano (2018, V Sue Cleveland HS, NM) pitched 3.2 innings showing off a fastball that averaged 70-73 mph and topped out at 77 mph.


Pitching carries Desert Cats to 3-0 Win

The Desert Cats defeated the War Eagle 14U 3-0, in the Quarterfinals of the 2014 14U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic.

Strong pitching by D'Angelo Bacchus (2018, Thunderbird HS, AZ) led the way for the Desert Cats as he went the distance, giving up just three hits while striking out three.  He showed an ability to compete on the mound with throwing strikes, and a fastball that averaged 68-71 mph and topped out at 74 mph.

Andy Kupec (2018, Centennial HS, AZ) went 1-2 at the plate for the Cats, with a double, a run scored, and a stolen base.

For War Eagle, Emilio Magdaleno (2018, Westwood HS, AZ) went five innings, striking out five.  Justin Steen (2018, Westwood HS, AZ) went 1-2 on the day, with a double.


Rakers bats too much to handle

The Reggie Smith Rakers beat the Slammers Epic 9-3 in a late game at Camelback Ranch.

Jamis DeKay (2018, Campbell Hall HS, CA) had a huge game for the Rakers going 2-3 with a triple, 2 RBI, 2 runs, and a walk. He showed a good eye and potential to be a middle of the order bat. Brandon Iglesias (2018, Santa Monica HS, CA) was 2-2 with a double, 2 RBI, 2 walks, and run. Matthew Bacon (2018, Granada Hills Charter, CA) and Nikolas Trapani (2018, Loyola HS, CA) both added a pair of hits to the offensive output.

DeKay closed the game for the Rakers with a fastball sitting at 75-76 mph. 

For Epic, Noah VanSickle (2018, Kent Denver HS, CO) was 3-3 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Joseph Alber (2018, Highlands Ranch HS, CO) had a nice day going 1-2 with 2 runs scored and a walk.

Sneider pitches team to victory

Warriors Baseball Academy 2018 beat Cleats Pilots 14U 1-0 on the back of starting pitcher Sasha Sneider (2018, Thunderbird HS, AZ). He showed a quick arm and sound mechanics in a complete game shutout. Sneider used a 75-81 mph fastball and 64-66 mph curveball to keep hitters off balance. Dominik Zubia (2018, Brophy College Prep, AZ) was a solid contributor going 2-2 with a stolen base. Jack Silverman () had the go ahead RBI double in the 6th inning. 


Brady Bulger (2018, Verrado HS, AZ) was the leader at the plate for the Pilots going 2-3. Starting pitcher Brendan Zorger () was impressive in 6 innings allowing just one run and striking out 7. His fastball sat in the 67-73 range. 

Yuma offense a force against the Black Sox

Yuma Beast Baseball beat the South Texas Black Sox 10-7 in an offensive showdown. For Yuma, Mauro Muela (2017, Kofa HS, AZ) was the star going 3-4 with a run scored and an RBI. He was aided by Danny Arriola (2017, Yuma HS, AZ) who was 1-3 with a triple, stolen base, walk, run, and an RBI. Daniel Miranda (2017, Yuma Catholic HS, AZ) was 2-2 with a walk and a run as well. 

On the mound, Phillip Branigan (2017, Cibola HS, AZ) had a good outing throwing 3 shutout innings with 3 strikeouts. 

The Black Sox were led by Albert Gonzalez (2018, John B. Alexander HS, TX) who was 2-4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Leadoff man Garrett Corkran (2018, Marion Hs, TX) was 2-3 with 2 RBI and a walk. The team got a solid contribution from Jarrett Biela (2018, Sandra Day O'Connor HS, TX) who was 2-4 with a run.


Carattini's Leads So Cal Sklz to 4-1 Win

So Cal Sklz starting pitcher Keaton Carattini, (2018, La Costa Canyon, CA) tossed a complete game only allowing 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 9 in a 4-1 win over Arizona Future Stars 14's. Carattini pounded the strike zone 80% of his pitches for strikes. 
Carattini received offensive support from teammate Dayton Dooney, (2018, Poway HS, CA). Dooney went 1-2 in the game with a triple, 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs. 
The Arizona Future Stars 14's were led by Kade Leveen, (2019, Pinnacle HS, AZ) who hit a double and drove in a run. Starting pitcher Cade Cornell, (2019, Desert Ridge HS, AZ), threw 3 solid innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits and 1 strikeout. 

Big Chuy Rockets 6 Run 1st Seals 9-3 Win

The Big Chuy Rockets jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the 1st inning and didn't look back as they beat the War Eagle 14u 9-3 Saturday afternoon. 
The Big Chuy Rockets were led offensively by Victor Soto, (2018, Seton Catholic, AZ), who went 1-2 at the plate with 2 RBIs and also drew a walk. Jesus Lopez, (2017, Nogales HS, AZ) had a solid day with a bat going 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a walk. 
Jose Pacheco, (2018, St. Mary's HS, AZ) pitched a complete game for the Big Chuy Rockets allowing 3 runs on 8 hits and struck out 8 batters. Pacheco showed good command of his pitches and attacked the strike zone. 
Daniel Berrelleza, (2018, Westwood HS, AZ) led War Eagle 14u offensively going 2-3, smacking 2 doubles, scoring a run and driving in 2 runs. Dirt Dawgs Late Rally Gives Them 6-2 Win

The Dirt Dawgs scored a total of 5 runs in the final three innings to give them the 6-2 victory over EJ Sports Titans 2018. The Dirt Dawgs were down 2-1 entering the 4th inning before scoring 1 in the bottom of the 4th, 3 in the 5th and 1 in the 6th. 
The Dirt Dawgs offense was led by Ryan Daugherty, (2018, Capistrano Valley HS, CA), who went 2-3 with 2 doubles, 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Daugherty showed power potential and a live bat. Dirt Dawgs starting pitcher Jesse Cueva, (2018, Orange Lutheran HS, CA), threw a complete game allowing 2 runs on 7 hits and struck out 3. Cueva pounded the strike zone throwing 61 of his 87 pitches for strikes. 
The EJ Sports Titans were led offensively by Ian Villers, (2018, Northgate HS, CA), who went 2-3 with 1 RBI. 

Unleashed offense powers way to victory

Unleashed beat the Colorado Wild 9-1 in an afternoon game at Red Mountain Baseball Complex. Andrew Garcia (2018, Montwood HS, TX) started for Unleashed throwing one shutout inning. He showed a 71-72 mph fastball. He was relieved by David Chavez (2017, Americas HS, TX) who threw 4 innings giving up just one unearned run. He picked up 9 K's using a 73-75 mph fastball and mixing in a curveball, change-up, and slider. 

At the plate, Garcia led the team going 1-1 with a triple, a walk, 2 RBI, and 2 runs. Isaac Ugarte (2018, Fabans HS, TX) went 2-2 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Unleashed also got a strong contribution from Luis Padilla (2021, Socorro HS, TX) who had 2 hits. 

Nalu Angoco (2019, Rangeview HS, CO) started for the Colorado Wild throwing one shutout inning. Dawson Eastin (2018, Eaglecrest HS, CO) led the offense with an RBI triple.

CBA Takedown the Nighthawks

CBA Cavs 2017 defeat Colton Nighthawks in a close game 8-6 victory. For CBA Cavs 2017 two hitters stood out today. Aaron Orozco and Damien Johnson were two hot bats today. Orozco went 2-4 and scored one run. Johnson went 2-3 and scored two runs for the day. Colton Nighthawks had two solid hitters today also, Donvan Griffin and Noah Johnson. Griffin went 1-3 for the day. Johnson went 1-3 and scored one run for the day.

Pitching was rough today for both teams today. CBA Cavs 2017 ace Joseph Fortin had a rough outing today, giving up six hits on six runs. Luckily the offense today had his back. For the Nighthawks, they used two pitchers today to try to help the team a victory. Gerarado Williams was the first pitcher going four innings while giving up three hits, five runs, three walks, and four strikeouts. Then Marco Alvarez came in to try to finish the game. Alvarez pitched three innings while giving up five hits, three runs, one walk, and five strikeouts.

Arizona RBI five hits So Cal.

Arizona RBI does a lot with their five hits to help them put away the So Cal Select Baseball Club in 8-4 victory. So Cal had a lot of hits but stranded runners too on base. Arizona RBI Zach Bibbey lead his team offense today. Bibbey got on base two times, scoring two runs and had one RBI. John Early weas perfect for the day for So Cal Select Baseball Club. Early went 3-3 for the day with a three singles.

Pitching for both held their own for the most part. Only using two pitchers for the day with about the same amount of innings is pretty good. Jakson Spiller for the Arizona RBI pitched 4.2 innings while giving up six hits and four strikeouts as a starter. Jayvon Bailey as the relief pitcher came in for one inning and only gave up four hits and three runs. So Cal Select Baseball Club was the same way. Nolan Chianello started the game for two innings worth and gave up two hits, five runs, four walks, and two strikeouts. Fisak as the relief pitcher, pitched about three innings and gave up three hits, three runs, and two strikeouts.

Phenom cruise past Ball Club

Team Phenom cruise past the Ball Club team 7-1 victory. The Ball Club team couldn't put much of fight in this contest. Team Phenom scored three runs in the fourth inning to help seal the deal. Alexander Williams was the hot bat today with going 1-2 and two RBIs. Jarrett Wolfe was the hot batter for the The Ball Club today as Wolfe ending up going 1-3 and scoring one run for the day.

Everett Hurst put together a nice outing for the day as he pitched solid for 2/ 2/3 of an innings, allowing one hit and striking out two for the day. Hurst range today on his fastball today was 78-80 mph. Pitching was not solid today for the The Ball Club team as they used a lot of pitchers early. Randy Hutson was their guy that pitch the most of the day. Hutson pitched four innings of work before getting pulled. Also giving up five runs, seven walks, and striking out only two for the day.

Team Phenom Red Fights Late for W

Team Phenom Red scored 6 runs in the top of the 7th inning to comeback and win 7-6 against Washington Select on Sunday morning of the 2014 14U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic.

Washington Select scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th to go up 6-1, only to be followed by a 6-run rally for Phenom Red to give them the lead and victory. Tyler Vargas (2018, Undecided, CA) was big for the Phenom offense as he went 2-3 including a triple, 3 RBI, and a run scored while showing a good approach and solid contact.

Damon Keith (2018, Undecided, CA) picked up the win on the bump for Phenom Red going 6 innings with 4 K's and only allowing 2 earned runs in the process. Keith effectively mixed in a number of curveballs and sliders to go along with his fastball.

Jack Smith (2017, Mercer Island HS, WA) was a bright spot for Washington Select as he produced on the mound and at the plate. Smith was 1-2 with 3 RBI and a run in the rally that fell short and was solid on the mound going 5 innings with 7 K's on no earned runs.

Tucson Dominants their opppoent today.

Early lead helps Tucson Champs 14u (Royals) with an easy victory over the SV Aztecs 13-1. Nine runs were scored in the first three innings of the contest. Nicholas Gonzales went perfect today at the plate for the Champs by going 2-2 for the day. Joshua Kale for the SV Aztecs went perfect for the day also and scored the only run for his team.

Pitching was solid for the Tucson Champs 14u (Royals) Dante DeNiro took down the Aztecs with no problems. DeNiro racked up eight strikeouts and only allowed one run in for over four innings of work. Pitching did go right at all for the SV Aztecs. Used a lot of pitchers and gave up a lot of runs all together.

CBA Cavs outlast BBC Generals 10-9

In a high scoring affair, with 23 combined hits, the CBA Cavs 2018 fought past the BBC Generals 10-9 Sunday morning in the 2014 14U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic. 

The Cavs jumped out to an early lead and held on to win thanks to the production of Aaron Eden (2018, Undecided, CA) and Steve Ricard (2018, Rancho Palos Verdes HS, CA). Eden went 3-4 at the plate with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored as he blasted a double and a triple, showing raw power. Ricard had a perfect day at the plate going 3-3 and scoring 3 runs. 

The Generals offense was productive as well pounding out 10 hits, although it wasn't enough for the win. The offense was led by Parker Coyle (2018, Hamilton HS, AZ) who went 3-4 with 2 doubles, an RBI and run scored and Josh Gonzalez (2018, Desert Ridge HS, AZ) who went 2-3, including a double and 2 runs scored.  

Albuquerque 17 hits victory.

Albuquerque Baseball Academy racked up the offense mark with 17 and 8 runs to win the game over CBA Team Easton 14U 8-0. Hitters for the day were hot for the day. Joshua Lackner went 2-4 and two hits. Robert Healy was the perfect for the day going 3-3 and one run. Nicholas Monk went 2-3 and one run for the day. CBA Team Easton 14U Matt Doole was the only hit for the day going 1-2.

Pitching was really solid today on the mounds for the two pitchers for the Albuquerque Baseball Academy. Anthony Bregman look sharp on the mound for three hit less innings, striking out three hitters for the day. The relief pitcher for Albuquerque Baseball Academy Ryan Allin was also solid too, striking out one and walked four. Jaden Boles for the Team Easton just allowed seven innings, walked none and struck out two. Boles range for the day on his fastball was 71-80 mph.

Stetson Hills Stealth Hangs on for Victory

Stetson Hills Stealth hung on to survive a 5-4 victory over MVP Red Sox on Sunday morning of the 14U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic. 

Lead-off hitter Nolan Gorman (2018, Sandra Day O'Conner HS, AZ) sparked the Stealth offense going 2-3 at the plate while recording 2 RBI. Eddie Nieman (2018, Pinnacle HS, AZ) also contributed to the offense as he went 2-2 with 2 RBI and a walk in the middle of the order. 

A collective effort from 6 different pitchers from the Stealth limited the Red Sox offense only giving up one earned run throughout the game. The lanky Zach Griffin (2017, Sandra Day O'Conner HS, AZ) was impressive in his one inning of work as he recorded two strikeouts with fastballs from 74-80. 

Joseph Barone (2018, Viewpoint HS, CA) led the Sox offense as he went 2-2 with 3 RBI and a walk on the day at the plate. 

ATH Academy Survives Late Rally for W

A late-game rally from Desert Cats was not enough as ATH Academy survives for the 7-5 victory in the 14U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic on Sunday morning.

Jalen Smith (2018, Stockdale HS, CA) led the way for the ATH Academy offense going 2-3 with 2 RBI, 1 run scored, and a walk. Spencer Lin (2018, Undecided, CA) also has 2 RBI on the day for their offense going 1-1 with a walk 

Cade Morgan (2017, Newbury Park HS, CA) picked up the win for ATH Academy on the mound by going 4 innings with 4 K's on only 1 earned run while using majority fastballs. 

Tyler Pruitt (2018, Sunrise Mountain HS, AZ) produced at the plate for the Desert Cats going 2-2 and scoring 2 runs. Jace Johnson (2018, Liberty HS, AZ) recorded a two-run double in the attempted come back although the rally fell short. 

Easley's Strong Start Lifts Warriors

Jayce Easley threw 5.2IP without allowing a run to lead the Warriors Baseball Academy to a 6-0 win over the Slammers Epic. Sasha Sneider (2018, Thunderbird, AZ) relieved Easley in the sixth inning and threw 1.1IP allowing only two hits while striking out three to keep the shutout intact.

Easley (2018, Sandra Day O'Connor, AZ), who also led off for the Warriors collecting two walks and scoring a run, was in control throughout the game on the mound. The right-hander scattered three hits and three walks throughout his outing while striking out four working his way out of jams to keep the Slammers off the scoreboard.

Arian Jimenez-Quezada (2018, Heritage, CO) and Zachary Dammel (2018, Highlands Ranch, CO) both had multi-hit games for the slammers collecting four of the teams five hits as they both went 2-for-3 as Dammel lined a triple to center with two outs in the fourth.  

Pilots come back to win

Cleats Pilots 14U plated three runs in the top of the seventh to beat Reggie Smith Rakers 5-4. Brady Bulger (2018, Verrado, AZ) went 2 for 3 with a triple and two runs.  Tyler Woessner (2018, Pinnacle, AZ) pitched in with a single that plated two. Brady Welch (2018, Goodyear, AZ) started and lasted three innings. He struck out three and allowed two walks. He had a very good fastball that ranged in the high 70's.  It touched 80 mph. Michael Perzan (2018, Basha, AZ) came in and pitched the last four innings.  He fanned four and allowed five hits. His mid 70's fastball reached 76 mph.

Jamis DeKay (2018, Campbell Hall, CA) went 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI. He also pitched an inning and struck out two. His fastball was impressive as it hit 78 mph. Blaine Traxel (2018, Bishop Alemany, CA) came in and threw two innings.  He struck out two and allowed one hit. His fastball touched 75 mph.

Stars big inning leads to a win

Arizona Future Stars 14's had a big third inning and went on to beat Colorado Wild 5-2. Cade Cornell (2019, Desert Ridge, AZ) tripled in three runs. Zach Pugh (2018, Highland, AZ) went 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI.  Devin Dujnic (2018, Highland, AZ) had two singles in the win. Tyler Austin (2018, Florence, AZ) started the game. In 5 2/3 innings, he struck out five and allowed three hits. His fastball touched 73 mph.

Trejen Fox-Birdwell (2018, Grandview, CO) led Wild's offense with a single that drove in two runs.  Samuel Rios (2018, Cherokee Trail, CO) went 1 for 2 and came around to score. Nalu Angoco (2019, Rangeview, CO) pitched six solid innings. He fanned three and walked five.

Washington racks up 13 runs

Washington Select beats MVP Red Sox in a offensive game. Nikhil Nayar (2018, Mercer Island, WA) led the offense with two singles, two RBI's, and came around to score three times.  Alex Olague (2018, Liberty, WA) went 1 for 2 with a triple and three RBI's.  Jordan Duenas (2017, Bremerton, WA) and Christian Hagler (2018, Highline, WA) both drove in two runs and singled. Duncan Guerrero (2018, Central Kitsap, WA) tripled in the win.  Bryson Beltran (2018, Seattle, WA) threw three innings and struck out two.  His fastball ranged in the mid 70's and touched 75 mph.

MVP's offense racked up 15 hits in the loss. Andy Sain (2018, Chaminade Prep, CA) and Samuel Schur (2018, Viewpoint, CA) both had two singles. Sean Power (2018, Westlake, CA) went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Drew Neubauer (2017, Viewpoint, CA) also had two hits including a double. Joseph Barone (2018, Viewpoint, CA) doubled in a run in the loss. 

Stealth wins in a close game

Stetson Hills Stealth slipped past Team Phenom Red in their 2-1 win.  Nolan Gorman (2018, Sandra Day O'Connor, AZ) led the offense with two singles.  Joe Terlizzi (2018, Notre Dame Prep, AZ) drove in a run with a single.  Eddie Nieman (2018, Pinnacle, AZ) chipped in with two hits. Matthew Liberatore  (2018, Mountain Ridge, AZ) started and lasted five innings.  He struck out two and allowed two hits. His fastball was in the low 70's and touched 74 mph.  Calvin Schapira (2018, Pinnacle, AZ) came in and threw two innings. He fanned four and gave up a hit. Schapira threw a lively fastball that was between 75-78 mph.

Alex Moreno (2018, Corona, CA) led the Red with a double that drove in their only run. He also threw the whole game. He struck out six and walked one. He also had a great fastball that reached 78 mph.

Melton Double Propels Aztecs

Trailing 4-2 in the sixth inning, lead-off hitter Adam Melton (2018, Tombstone, AZ) rapped a two out double down the line in left field to score two runs and tie the game. In the top half of the seventh, Jesus Acuna (2018, Buena, AZ) led off with a double to left and would later score on a passed ball to give the Aztecs the lead and the win, 5-4, over the CBA Cavs.  

Aztecs starter, Joshua Kale (2018, Buena, AZ) threw a complete game on 94 pitches allowing only one earned run to earn the win. Kale walked three and struck out two allowing five hits. The right-hander threw mostly fastballs between 69 and 75 mph attacking hitters and inducing a lot of weak contact from his opponents. 

Offense carries Ymua Beast to 9-5 Win

the Yuma Beast Baseball spread out 10 hits in the game to defeat The Ball Club 9-5.  Mauro Muela (2017, Kofa HS, AZ) led the way for Yuma going 2-3, with a homerun, a double, three RBIs and three runs scored.

Ricardo Carrasco Lugo (2019, Cibola HS, AZ) and Danny Arriola (2017, Yuma HS, AZ) each had two runs scored a piece.

Gage Workman (2018, Basha HS, AZ) was the spark for The Ball Club, going 2-3 at the plate, with a triple, an RBI, and three runs scored.


Desert Cats Make Most of 3 Hits

Despite getting out hit 7-3 the Desert Cats managed to pull of a 4-1 victory over the CBA Cavs. After allowing a walk assisted first inning run, three Desert Cat pitchers combined to shut down the Cavs offense. 

Isaiah Montoya (2018, undecided, AZ) started and earned the win for the Desert Cats, tossing three innings and allowind only one unearned run. He was able to work out of jams allowing six base runners in his three innings of work while striking out one.

Trevor Pruitt (2018, Sunrise Mountain, AZ) and Andy Kupec (2018, Centennial, AZ) closed the door the rest of the way combining to allow only four hits in four innings of shutout relief. Pruitt attacked hitters with his fastball touching as high as 81 mph on the radar gun while Kupec commanded a mid 70's fastball to get through his one inning of work. 

The Cavs Steve Ricard (2018, Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA) was the only player to record multiple hits in the game finishing 2-for-2 with a walk, reaching base in all three of his plate appearances. 

Late Offense Not Enough to Break Tie

Both teams received strong starting pitching and staged late offensive rallies but were able to match each other every step of the way, resulting in a 2-2 tie between Unleashed and SO CAL SKLZ. 

Luis Padilla (2021, Socorro, TX) started and threw 5.1 strong innings for Unleashed, striking out eight and allowing only three hits. The 5'11" right-hander allowed only one unearned run and walked only one. Padilla showed good life on his hard fastball pumping it up to 81 mph while sitting 76-79 mph. A smooth delivery and good control kept hitters off his fastball along with mixing in a few sliders throughout his outing.

SO CAL starter, Shane Whittaker (2018, Santana, CA) matched Padilla with an equally impressive outing, lasting five innings and allowing one run on only two hits while walking two and striking out four. The Santee native commanded his low 70's fastball well to both sides of the plate and used a 12 to 6 breaking curveball in the mid 60's to put hitters away. 

  

Barboa CG Gem Lifts Albuquerque

Steven Barboa (2018, Atrisco Heritage Academy, NM) threw a complete game three hitter, striking out eight to pave the way for an 8-1 Albuquerque win over the So Cal Select Baseball Club. The Selects committed seven errors in the field, a tough enough challenge to overcome without facing a dominant pitching performance from Barboa. 

Barboa needed 105 pitches to finish the complete game but attacked hitters throwing 67 percent strikes and throwing his fastball 80 percent of the time. The pitch averaged 72 mph throughout the game and reached as high as 75 mph. His main secondary offering was a good curve he showed control of as he walked only one during his start. 

Jack Murano (2018, V. Sue Cleveland, NM) and Nicholas Monk (2018, Cibola, NM) each recorded two hits and added RBI singles in the fourth and sixth innings, respectively. 

So Cal starter, Andrew Johnson (2018, undecided, CA) threw five strong innings in taking the loss, allowing only one earned run but was hurt by walks and errors as five runs scored while he was on the mound. Johnson allowed only four hits and struck out two throwing mostly fastballs between 71 and 75 mph. 

Four-Run Seventh Propels ATH Academy

ATH Academy scored four times in the top half of the seventh to put the game out of reach despite a late comeback attempt by the BBC Generals. ATH starter, Brent Jacques, threw a complete game allowing only one earned run, earning the win, 6-2, over the Generals. 

Jacques (2018, Rio Mesa, CA) scattered 11 hits but walked only one and struck out six in a strong performance on the mound. The 6'2" right-hander, threw 72 percent of his pitches for strikes in a 94 pitch outing keeping hitters off balance mixing a good curve along with his hard fastball. The Oxnard native sat 73-75 mph with his fastball topping out at 76 and mixed in his low 60's curve effectively. 

Brandon Nolfo (2018, undecided, CA) came in off the bench and went 2-for-2 driving in two runs for ATH. Lead-off hitter, Wyatt Walorinta (2018, Rio Mesa, CA) went 2-for-4 and scored three runs in the win.

Nine batters recorded at least one hit for the Generals as they pounded out 11 hits in the loss. David Watson (2018, Mesquite, AZ) and Brandon Todd (2018, Chandler, AZ) each had two hit games for BBC.  

Tucson Champs and Colton Nighthawks tie

Thanks to a late rally by the Colton Nighthawks, Saturday morning's game ended in a 5-5 tie.
Starting pitcher Adrien Garibay (Moreno Valley, Moreno Valley, CA, 2018) for the Nighthawks went the distance, allowing 3 earned runs, and peaking at 78 MPH with the fastball. Tucson Champs threw out two pitchers to do the job, Saul Escarrega (Sahuarita, Tucson, AZ, 2018) and Chris Barraza (Tucson Academy of Excellence, Tucson, AZ, 2018). Escarrega struck out 5 batters in his 4 innings while featuring a fastball that topped out at 79 MPH and very effective off-speed pitches. In relief, Barraza cranked it up to 82 MPH, overpowering opposing hitters to strike out 6 in his 3 innings of work.
George Arias (Salpointe Catholic, Tucson, AZ, 2018) was the star of the day at the plate for the Tucson Champs, going 3-3 with a double. Pitcher Escarrega reached base twice with a single and a walk, turning it into a stolen base and a run scored. For the Nighthawks, leadoff man Drake Hoffman (Shadow Hills, La Quinta, CA, 2018) did exactly what he was supposed to do, reaching three times on three singles, with an RBI and a run scored. 

War Eagle 14U records second win of tournament

In the early morning showdown between War Eagle 14U and EJ Sports Titans 2018, War Eagle came out victorious with two late runs to win 2-1.
The pitchers were the ones who shined in this game today. For the Titans, starter Daniel Medley (San Ramon Valley, Alamo, CA, 2018) pitched 4 scoreless innings, keeping opposing batters off balance with a steady mix of fastballs and off-speed pitches. Medley was followed up by Jackson Ertz (Monte Vista, Danville, CA, 2018), and while he eventually took the loss in the close game, showed great poise and promise. Ertz's fastball traveled up to 81 MPH and threw a deceiving curveball in the low 60s. The towering lefty showed a high ceiling with his frame and overtop arm action. War Eagle's starter Daniel Berrelleza (Westwood, Mesa, AZ, 2018) pitched all but one out, allowing 2 hits and only one run.
Michael Winaker (San Ramon Valley, Alamo, CA, 2018) collected one of the two Titan hits from the leadoff spot and converted that into the only run of the game. Winaker also had a stolen base. Also leading off, but for War Eagle, was Aaron Stinnett (Westwood, Mesa, AZ, 2018) who went 2-4 on the day. Emilio Magdaleno (Westwood, Mesa, AZ, 2018) and Jagger Parke (Westwood, Mesa, AZ, 2018) scored the two runs for War Eagle.

Dirt Dawgs hang on with 3-2 victory

With both pitchers going the distance, this game came down to the wire. The Dirt Dawgs jumped out to a early 3-0 lead after 2 innings, but the Big Chuy Rockets clawed their way back at the end, with the tying run getting stranded in scoring position to end the game.
Starters for both teams went the full game, with Zachary Marin (Diamond Bar, Diamond Bar, CA, 2018) picking up the win over Kevin Ortega (Brophy College Preparatory, Phoenix, AZ, 2018). Ortega only needed 71 pitches (50 strikes) to get through his six innings of work where he struck out 7 batters and only allowed 1 earned run to cross the plate. The fastball displayed by Ortega stayed in the high 70s, topping out at 79 MPH. Marin needed to work a little more, throwing 111 pitches in his seven innings of work, showing off a fastball which peaked at 78 MPH and a curve in the low 60s. He showed great command by striking out 12 batters in his outing.
The Rockets' Estevan Galvez (Salpointe Catholic, Tucson, AZ, 2018) and Ortega led the late charge with a triple and double respectively in the top of the 7th. Galvez also had a single two innings prior and scored both runs for his team.
Daniel Nunez (Ruben S. Ayala, Chino Hills, CA, 2018) had a great day for the Dirt Dawgs, going 1-2 with 2 RBIs as well as recording a stolen base. 

Team Phenom cruises to a 10-0 victory

The offense came out to play today for Team Phenom, cruising to a 10-0 victory over the South Texas Black Sox in a shortened 4 1/2 innings.
Despite the 10 runs allowed, the Black Sox did feature a couple of pitchers with great promise. Jarrett Biela (Sandra Day O'Connor, San Antonio, TX, 2018) had a fastball that topped out at 79 MPH in his 1 2/3 innings of work while Albert Gonzalez (John B Alexander, Laredo, TX, 2018) showed off a consistent low 80's fastball that peaked at 84 MPH, impressive for his age. 
Team Phenom's pitchers shutout the opposition, allowing only three hits through the 5 innings of play. Emilio Vasquez (Mt. Eden HS, Hayward, CA, 2017), who pitched the final four innings, topped out at 82 MPH and struck out 5 batters. Starter Connor Chapman (Anaheim, CA, 2018) pitched the first inning only, but it was a 1-2-3 inning. In the inning he showed off a high 70s fastball and a solid curve at 64 MPH.
Offensively, Team Phenom had a number of standout performers. Sean Osceola (Okeechobee, FL, 2018) walked twice, collected a double, 2 RBIs 2 runs scored. Offensive production was pretty well spread out, with 9 players recording RBIs and 10 players recording walks (14 walks total).

Albuquerque Baseball Academy wins by mercy

The Albuquerque Baseball Academy - Columbus 14s team came out firing on offense, taking this contest 12-0 over Arizona RBI in a shortened 4 innings of baseball.
Albuquerque's attack was led by Tyler Scheler (Sandia, Edgewood, NM, 2018) and Ryan Ramos (La Cueva, Albuquerque, NM, 2018) who went a collective 3-5 with 6 RBIs. Damian Admire (Rio Rancho, Albuquerque, NM, 2018) and Bailey Hagar (Volcano Vista, Albuquerque, NM, 2018) combined for a productive game from the 2-hole. Admire went 1-2, scoring twice and swiping three bases, while his replacement Hagar scored 3 times (once as a courtesy runner).
The starter for Albuquerque, Robert Healy (V. Sue Cleveland, Rio Rancho, NM, 2018), pitched four scoreless innings, allowing only 2 hits while striking out 6 opposing batters.
Arizona RBI did have a bright spot, with Anthony Medrano (Tolleson Union, Phoenix, AZ, 2018) grabbing one of the two hits for his team as well as reaching by walk and stealing a base.

Craig's Complete Game Leads Tucson Champs

Ryon Craig (2017, Cienega HS, AZ) hurled a complete game three-hitter, leading Tucson Champs 14U (Royals) to a 4-1 victory over CBA Cavs 2017 Friday at the Gene Autry Complex.

Craig tossed 102 pitches, nearly 70 percent of which were thrown for strikes. The submarine righty topped out at 85 mph, but sat in the mid 70's. Craig displayed the ability to change speeds and attack hitters, while also showing a good curveball, which he used as an out pitch.

Brian Romero (2018, Canyon Del Oro HS, AZ) led Tucson at the plate with two hits and two RBIs, while Alex Kelch (2018, Pgjted - Tucson HS, AZ) also added two hits. Nicholas Gonzales (2017, Cienega HS, AZ) recorded a triple, the lone extra base hit of the game. 

For CBA Cavs 2017, the lone run off Craig was scored in the seventh inning, on a single by Aaron Orozco (2017, Torrance HS, CA). The only other Cavs to record a hit were Bryan Juarez (2017, Glendora HS, CA) and Peter Girqis.

CBA Cavs 2018 Score 8 Unanswered in Win

CBA Cavs 2018 trailed 3-0 after an inning, but would score the final eight runs of the ballgame to claim an 8-3 win over ATH Academy at Gene Autry Complex on Friday.

Nine of the eleven hitters in the Cavs order recorded a hit, led by two-hit games from Julian Boyd (2018, Compton, CA) and John Jackson (2018, Redondo Beach, CA). Jackson drove in two runs, as did Daniel Perez (2018, Lawndale, CA). Aaron Eden (2018, Los Angeles, CA) and Ryan Gervais (2018, Los Angeles, CA) each added two runs for CBA Cavs 2018. 

Boyd and Perez also pitched well, combining for 4.2 innings of one-hit ball. Boyd struck out three hitters in his 2.2 innings, while Perez did not allow a walk or a hit. 

Sammy Silveyra (2018, Camarillo, CA) provided most of the offense for ATH Academy, driving in two of the team's runs and providing one of its two hits. The other hit came off the bat of Dale Starr (2018, Ventura, CA). 

Pitching well for ATH Academy was Cole Kennedy (2018, Newbury Park HS, CA), who did not allow a hit over two innings on the mound, allowing just an unearned run.

The Ball Club Storms to 13-2 Victory

The Ball Club scored three runs in the first inning, and never looked back in a 13-2 victory in six innings over South Texas Black Sox on Friday.

The Ball Club recorded eleven hits, including four doubles. Leading the charge at the plate for The Ball Club were Ko Thomas (2018, Basha HS, AZ) and Connor Webster (2018, Campo Verde HS, AZ), who each tallied two hits and two runs batted in. Webster also scored two runs. Samuel Clow (2018, Desert Ridge HS, AZ) also recorded a two-hit game, while Jake Wolfe (2018, Campo Verde HS, AZ) and Conner Thurman (2018, Highland HS, AZ) added two runs a piece. Webster, Thomas, Jake Wolfe, and Jarrett Wolfe (2018, Campo Verde HS, AZ) each doubled as well.

Jarrett Wolfe was also the team's top pitcher for the game. Wolfe tossed two perfect innings, striking out four of the six hitters he faced.

The offensive output for the Black Sox came in a two-run first inning. The runs were plated on a double from Albert Gonzalez (2018, John B. Alexander HS, TX) and a single from Noah Collins (2018, Sandra Day O'Connor HS, TX).

Joseph Martin (2018, Comfort HS, TX) was a bright spot on the mound for South Texas, striking out eight hitters over three innings. Martin, who showed the ability to hit his spots and was aggressive with his fastball, did not allow a hit in his time pitching.

Desert Cats Rally for 6-2 Victory

Desert Cats rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to claim a 6-2 win over BBC Generals on Friday.

The Desert Cats trailed 2-0 through three innings, but tied the game in the bottom of the fourth. The Desert Cats got on the board with an RBI double from Jake Kelley (2018, Liberty HS, AZ) who would come home to score after a single from Andy Kupec (2018, Centennial HS, AZ). This fourth inning rally came with two outs in the frame.

The game was broken open in the bottom of the fifth via a four-run effort from the Desert Cats. The eventual game-winning run was scored on a two-run single from Isaiah Montoya (2018, Peoria, AZ), and the next two runs scored on a hit by pitch to Jace Johnson (2018, Liberty HS, AZ) and a walk drawn by Tyler Pruitt (2018, Sunrise Mountain HS, AZ). Haydn McGeary (2018, Thunderbird HS, AZ) added two hits to aid the Desert Cats.

BBC Generals scored their two runs in the second inning, both without a swing of the bat. Braden Ford (2018, Perry HS, AZ) and Logan Schwenke (2018, Perry HS, AZ) drew back to back walks to take the early 2-0 lead.

SO CAL SKLZ blowout Colorado Wild

The SO CAL SKLZ 14U team racked up 17 hits in an impressive win over the Colorado Wild. A big 8 run 3rd inning, followed by an 11 run 4th inning, resulted in a 20-0 win for the SO CAL SKLZ. Pitchers Octavio Gallaso (2018, Olympian) and Parker Gilliand (2018, Rancho Bernardo) combined for 8 strike outs and only allowed two hits for the SO CAL SKLZ.

Nick Donnelly (2018, Poway) and Kendall Burnett (2018, Francis W. Parker) each totaled 3 RBIs with Donnelly adding a triple to one of his 3 hits on the day.

Connor O'Brien (2018, Rancho Bernardo) went 3-3 with 2 RBIs. Trevor Phillips (2018, San Marcos) also drove in 2 runs and went 3-4.

Team Phenom Red powers past MVP Red Sox

Team Phenom Red use two big innings to beat the MVP Red Sox. Team Phenom Red manufactured 5 runs in the third inning off of a walk, a hit by pitch, a fielder's choice, and an error. They turned around and scored 4 more runs in the fourth inning.

CJ Dornak (2018, Las Vegas, NV) turned in a solid pitching performance for Team Phenom Red allowing only 1 earned run over five innings. Dornak also proved stellar with the bat going 2-3.

Tyler Vargas (2018, Palmdale, CA) and Tyler Bardowell (2018, Fontana, CA) each tallied 2 RBIs for Team Phenom Red.

William Kernochan (2018, Crespi Carmelite) had two hits for the MVP Red Sox. Drew Neubauer (2017, Viewpoint) also had two hits as well as two RBIs.

CBA Pushes Ahead of Arizona RBI

CBA Team Easton 14U late push helps them win in 4-3 victory over the Arizona RBI. Gabe Martinez (Buckeye Union, Avondale, AZ 2017) help his team by bring home the game winning run in the sixth inning to take the lead. Zach Bibbey (Albert Einstein, Albuquerque, NW 2018)  for the Easton went 1-2 for the day and scored one run. Nico Vigil Mountain Pointe, Phoenix 2019) also had a good day by going 2-4 and also scoring run for Team Easton. For the other team, Matt Doole (The Classical Academy, Colorado Springs, CO, 2018) went 2-3 with one run scored. Also Austin Brady (Rampart, Colorado Springs, CO 2018) had a good day at the plate by going 1-3 and also scoring one run for his team.

Pitching was solid for both teams today on the mounds. Jaden Boles (Discovery Canyon, Colorado Springs 2018) for the Team Easton pitch solid ball game with only allowing two runs in five innings. Also he walked one, gave up five hits and five strikeouts. For the other pitcher, Nico Vigil for the Arizona RBI lasted for five innings, only walked two, allowed four runs, and nine strikeouts for the day.

Stetson Hills cruise past Washington

Stetson Hills take down Washington Select 11-2 victory in six innings. Stetson scored five runs in the fourth on error, a walk by Joe Terlizzi. Nolan Gorman (Sandra Day O'Connor, Phoenix, AZ 2018) came up big with a three-run triple. Gorman racked up five RBI's and two hits for the day. Duncan Guerrero (Central Kitsap, Silverdale, WA 2018) for the Washington Select team went 2-3 for the day and scored a run.

Pitching was solid for the Stetson team, Ryan Cowdrey (Saguaro, Phoenix, AZ 2018) only gave up a hit and struck out three batters for the day. For the other team, Washington's pitcher Nikhil Nayar (Mercer Island, Mercer Island, WA 2018) had only two innings worth of pitching, surrendering only three hits and four runs.

Cleats Pilots cruise past the Slammers

Cleats Pilots cruise past the Slammers in a blowout 8-0 victory in five innings. Cleats Pilots scored four runs in the fourth by four RBI's single. Brady Welch (Middle School, Goodyear, AZ 2018) racked up two RBI's on three hits for the Cleats Pilots 14U. There was only one hit for Slammers today which came from Brennen Doright (Cherry Creek, Cherry Hill Village, CO 2018) who went 1-2 for the day.

Pitching was solid for the day for the Cleats Pilots, Jordan Blach (Shadow Ridge, Surprise, AZ 2018) who only gave up one hit for day and manage to rack up eight strikeouts during his five innings of work. For the other team, Noah VanSickle (Kent Denver, Denver, CO 2018) only allowed eight runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out two guys for the day.

Unleashed defeat the Arizona Future Stars

Unleashed defeat the Arizona Future Star's 14's in a 2-1 decision. Unleashed took the lead in the seventh inning by an RBI Single by Andrew Garcia. James Martell was hot for the Arizona, going 2-2 for the day. Garcia went 1-3 for the day.

Christian Gonzalez handled the Arizona team with ease, racking up six strikeouts, allowed no earned runs on four hits and no walks in 4 2/3 innings.
Zach Pugh pitched a solid 4 innings of work with giving up one hit, two walks, and two strikeouts.

Late inning runs end game in 4-4 tie

The EJ Sports Titans 2018 scored two late runs in the top of the sixth to end the game in a 4-4 tie against the Big Chuy Rockets.

Grant Clark (2018, Monte Vista HS, CA) pitched the final 1.2 innings for the Titans, striking out 4 hitters and allowing just one walk.  He threw mostly fastballs between 77-80/81 mph.  Clark also went 1-1 at the plate with a run scored and 2 BB.

Also for the Titans, Sammy Walker (2018, Miramonte HS, CA) went 1-1 at the plate with a run scored, one RBI, and three stolen bases.

For the Rockets, Paulo Rodriguez (2018, Nogales HS, AZ) went 2-2 at the plate with two runs scored and two stolen bases.  Mike Gerardo (2017, Nogales HS, AZ) went 1-1 with two RBIs and two walks.  Javier Bojorquez (2016, Ctd-Douglas HS, AZ) threw five innings giving up one earned run on four hits while striking out five.  He displayed good action on a fastball that averaged 73-75/77 mph, while also mixing in a variety of off-speed pitches.


Warriors takedown Reggie Smith in Seven

Warriors Baseball Academy beat the Reggie Smith Rakers today 3-2. The Warriors hitting was solid today, with Bo who went 2-2 for the day. He singled in the second and the fourth inning. Mathew Bacon (Granada Hills Charter, Los Angeles, CA 2018) was the kid who got things going for the Reggie Smith Rakers in the beginning. Bacon went for 1-3 for the day and scored the only run.
Pitching for both was pretty solid, the Rakers actually dominated the Warriors for most of the game with Tiger Adams (Loyola, Los Angeles, CA 2018) on the mound in the beginning, giving up two runs and striking out five. Then Blaine Traxel (Bishop Alemany, Burbank, CA 2018) was the relieve pitcher for the Rakers with one inning of work, struck out one and allowed one run. For the Warriors, it was split work for pitchers. Damien McElroy(Raymond S. Kellis, Peoria, AZ 2018) pitched the first four of work with giving up two hits, one walk, and one strikeout. Antonio Brito (Verrado, Litchfield, AZ 2018) pitched the last three innings of relieve, giving up two hits, one run, two walks, and five strikeouts.

Phenom Cruise past the Yumma Beast.

Team Phenom blew past the Yumma Beast in 7-0 victory in seven innings. For Team Phenom Preston Hartsell (Corona Del Mar, Newport Coast, CA 2018) was hot today going 3-4 driving in one and scored two runs. For the Yumma Beast Baseball team, Danny Arriola (Yuma, Yuma, AZ 2017) went 1-3 for the day.
Pitching was solid for the Team Phenom today with Alexander Williams (Redwood Christian Jr-Sr High School, Castro Valley, CA 2018) on the mound. Williams gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, and struck out eight batters on five innings of work. Williams was pretty hot today with his fastball averaging 80-83 mph for the day. For the Yumma Beast Baseball Team Daniel Miranda (Yuma Catholic, Welton, AZ 2017) pitched pretty well today, pitching five innings worth, walked two, struck out six and gave up five runs.

Butler carries Nighthawks to victory

The Nighthawks road the arm of Jahred Butler (2018, Hemet HS, CA) to a 12-0 victory over the SV Aztecs.  Butler pitched a complete game one-hitter, giving up just one walk while striking out 11.  He showed good command with a 76-79/80 mph fastball, while also mixing in a handful of off-speed pitches.  From the plate, Butler went 1-3 and scored two runs.

The offense for the Nighthawks was sparked by Noah Johnson (2017, Bloomington HS, CA) who went 2-4 at the plate with a triple and two RBIs while also scoring one run.  Sergio Garcia (2017, Chaffey HS, CA) went 3-4 and two runs scored.

Adrien Garibay (2018, Moreno Valley HS, CA), Gerardo Arellano (2017, La Quinta HS, CA) each contributed two RBIs a piece.

For the Aztecs, Atom Melton (2018, Tombstone HS, AZ) went 1-3 at the plate and one stolen base.


Late runs lift War Eagles 14U to W 2-1

The War Eagles 14U get two late runs in the bottom of the 5th to squeeze by the Dirt Dawgs 2-1.  Jagger Parke (2018, Westwood HS, AZ) pitched a complete game, giving up just one earned on five hits and four strikeouts while just walking one.

Erik Makil (2018, Westwood HS, AZ) went 1-1 and scored a run.

For the Dirt Dawgs, Austin Baltierra (2017, Temecula Valley, CA) pitched 5 innings for the Dawgs giving up two earned runs on four hits while also striking out four.  Mark Gomar (2018, Diamond Bar HS, CA) went 1-3 at the plate with a run scored and a stolen base.
