SBA/Easton Elite Claim 2014 Perfect Game Deep South Regional Championship

Powered by the near flawless pitching performance of Will Hine, a strong 10 hit offensive performance and errorless baseball,
the SBA/Easton Elite from Shreveport won the 2014 Perfect Game Deep South Championship. Hine looked sharp on the
hill against an excellent Knights Baseball team from Nashville. The Knights managed just one hit off of Hine, who allowed
no earned runs, walked four and struck out eight during his seven innings of work. Nathan Hicks went 2-2 (singled in the
second and fifth), sparking the Elite to the 6-2 victory in on Sunday at Brandon High School in Brandon, MS. The Elite
never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring two runs on an RBI double by Carson Chapman and a groundout
by Steele Netterville. The Knights pushed across one run in both the first and fourth innings. In the first, Thomas Zazzaro
scored on an error and plated another run in the bottom of the fourth to close its deficit and bring the Knights to life.
Hine and his teammates; however, battled the next three innings in the 95 plus degree weather to hold off the determined
Knights to claim the Championship.

The Elite will now move on to the Perfect Game Super 25 National Championship July 30-August 3 in Ft. Myers, FL.
