2008 SOUTH TOP PROSPECT SHOWCASE - TOP PROSPECT LIST

Bo Altobelli C Plano HS, TX. Bo is a very solid athletic catcher, he has every thing you look for, above average arm strength (1.87, 79 mph), plenty of hitting tools, including a very quick bat, and he is an above average runner for a catcher (6.98).

Daniel Armstrong MIF-RHP Norman HS, OK Daniel is an athletic Middle Infielder with a good glove. Already an average MLB runner (6.99). Daniel also touched 87 on the mound with some good pitch-ability.

Chris Asing RHP-OF Flower Mound HS, TX. Chris is a very projectable pitching prospect who sits (84-86) with a quick arm and a FB that has late life. Chris also has a very solid approach at the plate.

Jordan Chovanec OF Industrial HS, TX. Jordan’s best tool is his already above average speed (6.63). Jordan’s uses his speed well that projects him to be in CF someday. He also shows a good sound middle away approach at the plate.

Colton Daigle is a 2009 RHP-1B-3B Acadiana HS, LA. Colton shows arm strength from both corner positions (86 mph) and on the mound topping at 85 mph. His bat could become a very usable tool as he already has a good sound approach to hitting.

Zachary Dando RHP- 1B Cherokee Trail HS, CO. Zach has shown tools to be a solid two way prospect in college, his fastball is a mid 80’s with a useable change up at 70 mph. Already posses good hitting tools, with above average bat speed.

Josh Easley RHP, Weatherford HS, TX- A top prospect pitcher, Josh has all the tools that you look for in a pitcher, tall and lanky with more to come. Already shows an average MLB fastball (88-91) that could project to an above average fastball in MLB. Josh is also runs fairly well (7.17).

Adam Farris OF, Liberty Christian HS, TX. Adam posses good OF tools, already an above average runner (6.96), good accuracy on throws. Already shows very good hitting tools and a good line drive approach at the plate.

Will Fletcher C-RHP, McKinney Boys HS, TX. A top-notch athlete, Will has the tools to be a catcher, (1.97 pop, 84 MPH) and already is a MLB average runner (7.09) Will also touched 88 on the mound and projects as a highest-level two-way prospect in college.

Chase Greening RHP, Lufkin HS, TX. Chase already shows a mid 80’s fastball topping out at 86 MPH and as the frame to add more strength and already a loose arm, he projects to increase his velocity.

Davis Henderson RHP, Klein Collins HS, TX. Davis posses a good pitching frame, already a posses a loose arm, throws a solid sinking fastball (85 MPH) and a very tight late breaking slider (75 MPH).

Dustin Jackson RHP-OF Terrell HS, TX. Dustin already shows MLB average arm strength from the OF (88 MPH) and very good hitting tools. On the mound shows a loose arm while throwing a mid 80’s fastball with good arm side run. Dustin is a very good two way prospect at the college level.

Jordan Lewis OF-SS-RHP  WT White HS, TX.  Jordan is an athletic fielder that already is an average MLB runner (6.99).  At the plate he shows the potential for power with an already good line drive swing.

Nathan Lyons OF-1B Berkner HS, TX. Nathan is already an above ave MLB runner (6.75) and shows good tools at the plate, including quick hands and good bat speed, also has very good fielding tools.

Philip Menou 1B-RHP, Sam Houston HS, LA. Philip shows the tools to project well at the plate with very good bat speed and good use of his hands. Philip shows raw power at the plate. And has advanced defensive tools.

Tyler Nurdin LHP, Fort Worth Paschal HS, TX. Tyler is a 2010 that is a high ceiling on the mound. Already shows his pitch-ability throwing three pitches in the zone. Has good arm strength (sitting 85-87) with more to come from this kid! Will be a top level prospect as a LHP.

Ryan Salter OF Denton Ryan HS, TX. An athletic OF who is an ave MLB runner (7.06) and has a strong OF arm (86 MPH) to go along with is solid defensive skills. Ryan has a sound hitting approach at the plate, with some tools including good bat speed.

Matt Shortall C-OF-RHP Jesuit HS, TX. Matt is another member of a strong catching class in Metro Dallas. Matt’s best tool is his arm strength (87 MPH-OF, 1.9 pop, 81 MPH-C). Matt has tools to work with at the plate also.

Cole Thompson RHP, Trinity Christian Academy HS, TX.  Already has a good pitching frame standing 6’5 with room to grow.  Cole posses a mid 80’s FB (85) with more to come over time.

Seth Thompson is Lufkin HS, TX. Seth has tools you look for in an OF, has well above average speed (6.68). Defensive tools that project to any OF position. Also shows good hitting tools.
