2009 Prospects
RHP/1B Brooks Pounders – (Temecula Valley HS – Temecula, CA): Pounders has real good stuff on the mound throwing 3 pitches for strikes. His velo was up to 89 mph at this event, but was at 94 the following week. He can really hit too. Aflac All-American.
SS Jiovanni Mier – (Bonita HS – Pomona, CA): Mier has a very athletic build and is a very polished defensive player. He projects very well and he can really swing the bat. Aflac All-American.
LHP/1B Kristopher Hobson – (Stockdale HS – Bakersfield, CA): Hobson has smooth delivery with an explosive release. His curveball is a potential strikeout pitch and projects well. He can swing the bat and the ball really jumps.
RHP Justin Bellez – (Mira Mesa HS – San Diego, CA): Bellez is an athletic pitcher with an easy loose arm action. The ball comes out easy and has a lot of life on his fastball. Justin has good feel for his slider, and he can throw it on either side of the plate for strikes. He had impressive outings in San Diego, and also a week later at the Metrodome.
SS Nolan Arenado – (El Toro HS – Lake Forrest, CA): Arenado has a good build at 6-2 196 pounds. He has some juice in his bat and made solid contact to all fields. We like him best at 3B and projects.
RHP Ethan Miller – (Ayala HS – Chino Hills, CA): Miller is a legit 2-way player with very good power at the plate. He projects well on the mound and throws 3 pitches for strikes.
OF Matthew Moynihan – (Cathedral Catholic – San Diego, CA): Moynihan is a very athletic and strong player who can really run. His defensive tools play well and he’s got lots of potential at the plate from the left side.
3B Cade Kreuter – (Hart HS – Newhall, CA): Krueter took one of the best BP’s at this event. He has big time juice in his bat and gets good extension in his swing. Cade has a big projectable frame, and has good defensive actions on the corner.
C Cameron Garfield – (Murrieta Valley HS – Murrieta, CA): Garfield has good catching tools behind the plate with developing arm strength. His very quick transfers and feet produce good pop times. He has some pop at the plate and can hit.
C Nolan Clark – (Capistrano Valley HS – Mission Viejo, CA): Clark has a strong durable build behind the plate. He showed good catching tools with good arm strength. He flashed some power potential at the plate.
OF/3B Cole Frenzel – (Dickinson HS – Dickinson, ND): Frenzel was a big surprise at this event. He has good arm strength (91 from OF) and good raw power at the plate. He received National Showcase invite from performance at SS West.
OF James Dykstra – (Rancho Bernardo HS – San Diego, CA): Dykstra has a good athletic body with a very projectable build. Very quiet approach to the game, but he gets it done. He showed power with a smooth swing. He has big time power potential.
OF Matt Arlington – (Point Loma HS – San Diego, CA): Arlington has a good flat path in his swing and generates bat speed. He gets the barrel to the baseball and can hit for some pop.
MIF Albert Alvarez – (Temecula Valley HS – Temecula, CA): Alvarez is a very good runner (6.60) and has very good defensive actions. He can really play defense. He has bat speed and uses the opposite field well.
RHP Nico Lytle – (Bishop Kelly HS – Boise, ID): Lytle has a big XL frame with a very projectable body. He throws with a long loose easy arm action with projectable velocity.
LHP – Paul Strong – (Marina HS – Huntington Beach, CA): Strong has a good 6-2 195 pound body. He has a fast arm and throws 2 pitches for strikes. Was up to 88 at this event, but pitched the day before.
OF Andy Wilder – (Notre Dame Prep – Scottsdale, AZ): Wilder has a good body with a projectable build. He runs well and has good arm strength from the outfield. He flashes good bat speed with some pop in his bat.
RHP Aaron Northcraft – (Mater Dei HS – Newport Beach, CA): Northcraft has a big 6-4 205 pound body with a very deceptive delivery. He has a fast arm with a lot of life on his fastball. Right hand hitters didn’t want anything to do with him.
RHP Bryan Crabb – (Coronado HS – Coronado, CA): Crabb was very impressive at this event. He pitched at 86-88 with an easy arm action and threw 3 pitches for strikes. His mechanics work well and he repeats his delivery.
2010 Prospects
C Jake Hernandez – (Los Osos HS – Rancho Cucamonga, CA): Hernandez is one of the best catching prospects in the country. He has excellent tools behind the plate with good arm strength. He can really hit too.
C Stefan Sabol – (Aliso Niguel HS – Aliso Niguel, CA): Sabol is one of the most athletic catchers in the country. He has outstanding defensive tools behind the plate, and he can hit with the best of them.
MIF Anthony Wolters – (Rancho Buena Vista HS – Vista, CA): Wolters has an athletic lean body and has good defensive actions. His hands work very well in his swing and has good bat speed.
MIF Matt Morse – (Aurora Christian HS – Sandwich, IL): Morse showed good all around tools at this event by running a 6.91 and throwing 86 from the OF. He was aggressive at the plate and generates bat speed.
RHP Trevor Anthony Williams – (Rancho Bernardo HS – San Diego, CA): Williams has a good strong build. He has a fast arm with good arm strength. He has good life on his fastball and throws 3 pitches for strikes.
RHP Matt Blanchard – (Mater Dei HS – Whittier, CA): Blanchard was coming off an injury at the time of the event and was impressive. He has a live arm with good pitchability. He has a very high ceiling and is a good follow.
3B Kyle Ferramola – (Los Alamitos HS – Los Alamitos, CA): Ferramola has a good lean build that projects. He stays inside the baseball well at the plate and flashed some bat speed.
2011 Prospects
SS Christian Lopes – (Canyon Country HS – Valencia, CA): Lopes is one of the top 2011’s in the country. He has outstanding defensive actions and is very polished defensively. He is aggressive at the plate and hits the ball hard to all fields.
OF Travis Harrison – (Tustin HS – Aliso Viejo, CA): Harrison is another one of the top 2011’s in the country. He has a very good swing with some big time power. The ball absolutely jumps off his bat and can flat out hit.
OF Daniel Camarena – (Cathedral Catholic HS – Bonita, CA): Camarena is yet another one of the top 2011’s in the country. He can really hit from the left side and has good present power. His tools play very well in games.
