Tyler Carter is a 2008 RHP/IF from Iowa
City, Iowa, with a large 6'3", 165 lb. frame. He is a talented
freshman offensively, defensively, and on the mound. He has a
balanced delivery with a quick arm. Carter hits his spots and has
projectable velocity. He has good bat speed with leverage and power
potential. Carter also has good actions defensively with soft
hands.
Chad Christensen is a 2009 SS/RHP from
Marion, Iowa, with a lean 6'0", 152 lb. frame. He has very good
defensive actions for age with soft hands, good feet, solid arm
strength, accurate throws, and good body control. Chad has good bat
speed and is projectable at the plate. His arm works well and he
gets life on his FB with a deceptive slurve. He mixed his pitches
well with solid control. Chad has a projectable body.
Callahan Deporter is a 2008 C/RHP/OF
from Orion, Illinois, with an athletic 5'10", 160 lb. frame. He has
good defensive actions at C and OF. He has quick feet behind plate
with solid pop times. He moves well laterally, and shows good arm
strength with solid carry and accuracy. He has good bat speed and
bat control, and is a line drive hitter. He is a solid hitter. He
has nice mechanics on the mound with an easy arm.
Charles Epperson is a 2008 OF/RHP from
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with a lean and athletic 6'0", 175 lb. frame.
He has very good arm strength and arm speed, and good fielding
actions. Charles is very quick, and has good range in the OF. He
has very good bat speed, and is a line drive hitter. Charles has a
bright future in the OF.
Jose Espinosa is a 2007 C/IF from
Ridgefield, Connecticut, with a lean 5'11", 145 lb. frame. He can
play anywhere defensively; he was one of the best SS, C, and CF at
the event. Jose has quick hands and good footwork with solid arm
speed. He has quick feet behind the plate with good pop times.
Jose has good bat speed, and is solid line drive hitter. He has
good game quickness, and is a solid all-around player.
Tommy Fleckenstein is a 2009 C/RHP from
Anamosa, Iowa, with a strong 5'11", 170 lb. frame. He has very good
bat speed with present raw power. He has very good potential as a
hitter. Tommy has a strong arm behind the plate with good quickness
on his throws. He also shows his good arm action pitching with a
sinking FB. He is a must follow.
Spiker Helms is a 2008 RHP/MIF from
Wildwood, MO, with a 5'11", 170 lb. frame. He has a clean and easy
arm with good arm speed, and a slow and deliberate delivery. Helms
has late movement on his FB, and has projectable velocity. Helms
has a good slider, and has solid control. He also has good
defensive actions. He is a two way prospect who needs to be
followed.
Chase Hentges is a 2008 RHP/MIF from
Shakopee, MN, with a lean 6'0", 150 lb. frame. He has good arm
action on the mound with solid arm speed and nice mechanics. He
showed solid control, and had some arm side life on his FB. He is a
solid P prospect with projectable velocity. He has good actions
defensively with nice range, and made nice plays during the games.
He has a quick bat, and made solid contact with a balanced swing.
Andrew Kraus is a 2009 3B/RHP from
Strawberry Point, Iowa, with a 5'10", 150 lb. frame. He has good
speed, a quick arm, good arm strength, and solid footwork. Kraus
centers the ball well with power potential to all fields. He has
good pitching mechanics. He has depth to his CB, and showed solid
control. He has a good set of tools.
Greg Larpenter is a 2009 OF/IF/RHP from
Urbandale, Iowa, with a 5'6", 142 lb. frame. He has very good arm
strength in OF with plus arm speed. He has good OF actions, and
tracks fly balls well. Greg has an accurate arm with good footwork
and hands in the IF. He has a compact and quick swing, and is a
line drive hitter who uses the whole field. He has easy arm action
on the mound with smooth mechanics and a solid CB.
Mitchell Overstreet is a 2009 OF/RHP
from Bettendorf, Iowa, with a strong 6'1", 200 lb. frame. He has
great arm strength from the OF and on the mound. His throws are on
line with good mechanics. He has leverage in his swing with power
potential. Overstreet has good arm action and arm speed on the
mound. He has life on his FB with solid secondary pitches. He has
the tools to be a top prospect in the future.
Mark Radmacher is a 2008 C/RHP/3B from
Rosemount, Minnesota, with a strong 6'0", 200 lb. frame. He was one
of the best players at the event. He showed arm strength with
accuracy, and had solid pop times. He is also a good receiver.
Mark has a power bat with good leverage in his swing. He has good
bat speed, and centers the ball well with present raw power that is
projectable. He is a good looking hitter.
Blake Schwartz is a 2008 RHP/IF from
Rosemount, Minnesota, with a lean 6'2", 185 lb. frame. He has good
arm speed on the mound, and uses his lower half well in his
delivery. He has good control, and has very good potential on the
mound. Blake has a balanced swing with good leverage. He also has
good range defensively.
Kellen Sweeney is a 2010 SS/RHP from
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with a 5'9", 145 lb. frame. He was one of the
youngest players, but also one of the best at the event. He has
advanced defensive actions with soft hands, body control, good
footwork, a quick arm, and good arm strength. Kellen has a very
quick bat with solid swing mechanics to be a top hitter. He has a
controlled delivery, and good control on the mound with a tight
breaking ball. He is a top two way prospect.
Brent Warren is a 2008 OF/LHP from
Robins, Iowa, with a long and lean 6'2", 155 lb. frame. Warren has
very good speed. He also has good arm speed, and the ball comes out
clean. He showed soft hands at 1B as well. Warren has solid bat
speed, a balanced swing, and power potential. He has a clean arm
action with little effort and a fluid delivery. He maintains his
velocity out of the stretch. He is a two way prospect.
