Unsigned Top Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List

1: Jose Cueto    OF        6'2        185       R/R       Braddock          Miami, FL

Cueto isn’t just a young man who could play at any Division I school in the country; there were many high school outfielders drafted this year that can’t carry his tools.  In addition to his plus arm, average big league speed and powerful bat, the 6-2, 185 lb. Cueto is a top notch student who wants to study Pre-Med in college, so academics are definitely not a problem, either.

2: Joseph Bittle  RHP/3B            6'1        170       R/R       Texas         Texarkana, TX

We’ve seen Bittle before and were surprised that he was unsigned.  He threw 86-88 mph in Fort Myers with a loose, quick arm and a killer breaking ball in a 81-84 slider that freezes hitters.  He can pitch for any Division I program in the country.

3: Anthony Annino         LHP/1B 6'5        215       R/L       Waltham           Waltham, MA

Annino has a very nice pitcher’s body at 6-5, 215 lbs and is well coordinated with good pitching mechanics.  He touched 84 mph with his fastball and is a very good bet to throw harder in the future.

4: Chase Townsend        3B/1B/P            6'3        190       R/R       Greenbrier Christian       Chesapeake, VA

Townsend is lanky and projectable at 6-3, 190 lbs and can really swing the bat.  He hit a couple of balls out in batting practice and hits with authority in games.  His father was a former professional player so hitting is in his genetics.

5: Rufus Caruthers         OF        6'0        180       R/R       Lassiter             Marietta, GA

Caruthers has a mature, athletic body at 6-0, 180 lbs and the strength to generate very good bat speed with wood.  He’s a 6.89 runner in the 60 who tracks the ball well in the outfield.
