2002 WWBA Midwest Qualifier - Top 20 Prospects

 

1. Maday, Daryl    RHP        6'3/210    R/R  2003          Westosha Central            Bristol , WI

Maday is a big, strong right-hander with a live 90+ fastball.  His arm works nicely and he shows a good breaking ball.  Good command, he fills the strike zone.

 

2. Juergens, John JR   C     6'1/215    R/R  2003          Bradley               Bourbonnais ,IL    

Juergens won the homerun derby, hitting a few well over 400’ with wood.  He has a strong arm and a major league body.  Also showed the ability to make contact against good pitching.

                                               

3. Bales, Danny   LHP          6'3/190    R/L  2004          Kennedy            Cedar Rapids ,IA

We’ve seen him in the upper 80s with plus life.  His breaking ball is right up there with any in high school baseball. He has outstanding arm speed and should end up with a plus changeup.

 

4. Keane, Nolan   OF/P         5'11/170  L/L   2004          Kewanee                        Kewanee , IL

Excellent all-round player with tools.  He can rake! throw and run.  Good prospect who knows how to hit.. 

 

5. Arndt, Gary    SS/P            5'11/170  R/R  2003          Racine Horlick                     Racine,WI

Arndt does everything well.  Should be a top flight college middle infielder.  He throws very well, even pitches in the mid to better 80s. 

 

6. Brockel, Rob    3B             6'1/195    RR   2003          Marquette                         Pewaukee , WI

Brockel is a strong athlete with a plus arm and big power potential at the plate.

 

7. Zink, Ryan     RHP             6'4/200    RR   2003          Mad Lafollette                   Madison , WI

Zink surprised us topping out at 91 mph.  Nice looking body and good arm action.  Threw consistently 88-89.

 

8. Cordier, Erik     RHP           6'4/205    RR   2004          Southern Door                 Sturgeon Bay , WI

90+ looks pretty easy for Cordier.  Big, young pitcher to keep a close eye on.

 

9. Harper, Tony    C/OF          6'0/195    R/L  2003          Oak Creek                         Oak Creek , WI

Harper is a catcher, pitcher, outfielder with a plus MLB arm.  He can hit, the ball jumps off of his bat.

 

10. Jarzabeck, Andrew    OF    5'11'/195R/R   2003          Kenosha Tremper          Kenosha , WI

Big time college player who can really run.  Swings the wood very well and plays the outfield with the best.

 

11. Lucsak, Dan  RHP          6'6'/205   R/R  2003          Brookfield East                   Brookfield , WI

Big prospect who has shown much more before.  Could be a good draft pick if he pulls it all together by next spring.      

12. Tobler, Adam    P/OF       6'4/185    R/R  2003          Rochelle H.S.                   Rochelle , IL

Big RHP who has throw much better than the 84 in Cedar Rapids .

 

13. Miller, Adam  P/3B         6'0/175    R/R  2003            Knoxville                           Knoxville ,IA

Miller can pitch at any college in America .  Extremely fast arm that routinely throws in the low 90s.

 

14. Fergus, Wesley  1B        6'3/205    R/R  2003          Racine Horlick                    Racine,WI

Swings the wood well.  Shows big power potential and makes contact against top pitching.

 

15. Stanke , Cal   RHP            6'0/160    RR   2003          Men St. Marys                  Menasha,WI

Stanke is another high level DI pitching prospect. Fast arm, good breaking ball.  Has thrown 90+.

 

16. Webb, Daniel    OF/P       6'1/185    L/R  2003         Anna Jonesboro                 Anna , IL

Good athlete with good baseball body.  He should be a nice draft pick if he hits well next spring.

 

17. Weber, Matt   P/IF           6'3/190    R/R  2003          Rockford Boylan                 Roscoe , IL

Big athlete with a strong arm.  Heard he’s been in the 90s in the summer.

 

18. Sadler, Tommy   OF        5'10/165R/R    2003          Kennedy                            Cedar Rapids ,IA      

Sadler is a speedster who is fast becoming a top hitter with wood.

 

19. Mayhew, Ben   RHP        6'6'/210   R/R  2003          Marquette                          Brookfield ,WI

Big, projectable RHP who may end up being the best of this bunch, down the road.       

 

20. O’Brien, Kyle   OF          5’9/185    L/L   2003          Glenbard East                       Lombard , IL

Not tall, but very strong with one of the fastest bats in the Midwest .
