Orphanos went all 5 innings allowed just 3 hits, and 1 run, while striking out 5 and walking one. He piched in the high 80's and topped at 88 mph. He's also got a good curve and a decpetive arm angle, to go along with solid, compact mechanics.

On the other end, A.J. Cole (2010, Oviedo HS, Fla) worked 4 innings and gave up 7 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking one. Cole pitched in the mid 90's while topping out at 97 mph. Cole is a minimal effort guy with plus mechanics.

The homer gave the Elite Squad a 4-1 lead but East Cobb battled back to plate a couple of runs to cut the lead to just a run. Crittenberger showed good speed and pop as he raced around the bases. He one-hopped the centerfield wall in the Stadium at Terry Park. It could have been a triple but the centerfield made a solid effort to dive for the ball, giving Crittenberger a little more time to get around the bases.
Prospects Jump Out to Lead with 2 HR's >>
The All-American Prospects have jumped out to a 4-0 lead over the East Cobb Dynasty thanks in large part to a couple of long balls. Ryan Attrick (2010, Palmetto HS, Fla) and Joe Costigan (2010, Collier HS, Fla) each have hit solo home runs as the Prospects take a 4-0 lead in the 4th inning.
Orlando Gets Walk-Off Win >>

The Prospects jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before the Rage battled back to get one run in the 4th inning and three more in the 6th to take the lead. But they couldn't hang on as the Prospects scored the go ahead runs in the final frame to advance.

Starter Daniel Gibson (2010, Tampa Jesuit HS, Fla) shined for the Prospects throwing 4 IP while allowing only 1 run on 2 hits. The lefty used his 88-89 mph to strike out 10 batters. Gibson has a fluid arm action and a slight 3/4 arm slot that allows for movement on his pitches. He also changes up his pitch sequence well which kept hitters off balance.
SFL Elite Get Late Run to Advance >>
Kenny Keri (2010, Chaminade HS, Fla) hit an RBI double in the top of the 5th inning to put the South Florida Elite Red up for good as they move on to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Elite Red got 4 runs in the 1st inning, but Diamond Vison Elite quickly got back in the game with 2 runs in the 1st and 3 more in the 2nd.

Brad Gero (2010, Park Vista HS, Fla) was 2-for-2 with a double, BB and 2 runs scored in the losing effort for Diamond Vision Elite. Gero shows an opposite field approach as he went to the other way with both his hits. He's got a tall, lean body and an open stance.
Mizuno Holds On to Advance >>
Mizuno got a strong start from righty Raul Flores and were able to score enough runs as they advance to the 2nd round of the 17U Playoffs. Flores went 4 1/3 innings, gave up just 4 hits and didn't allow an earned run while adding 5 strike outs.

Tyler Marlette (2011, Hagert HS, Fl) led the way offensively for Mizuno going 2-for-3 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI's, and a run scored.
Gibson Looking Sharp Early >>
All American Prospects lefty Daniel Gibson (2010, Tampa Jesuit HS, Fla) has struckout 8 of the 9 batters he's faced as the Prospects have a 3-0 lead on the Delaware Rage in the 4th inning. Gibson is 6'2" and 210 pounds and throws 88-89 mph. He's obviously very projectable and will probably add some mph to his fastball. Gibson is a player to keep an eye on.
Caits Out Duels Abramson >>
David Caits (2009, Cooper City HS, Fla) out dueled Matt Abramson (2008, Conestogs HS, PA) as the Florida Pokers defeated the Philelphia Reds by a score of 2-1. Deshields, Gaines Continue to Impress >>
The Atlanta Blue Jays defeated SWFL by a score of 8-2 thanks in part to strong performances from Delino Deshields (2010, Woodward Academy, GA) and Julius Gaines (2011, Luella HS, GA). Deshields was 2-for-3 with 3 runs, an RBI, and HBP. Gaines was 1-for-4 with a 3-run homer. Both play solid defense and are legit prospects.

Heath Burton (2010, Palmetto HS, SC) went 2-for-4 with 3 runs scored, an RBI, and a walk. Burton is perfect in the lead-off spot because he works the count and is a grinder. Josh Hyman (2010, Woddruff HS, SC) went 1-for-3 with a home run and 2 runs scored.
Campbell Has Strong Outing >>
East Cobb Astros righty Matt Campbell (2010, Northview HS, GA) pitched 5 innings of no-hit ball in East Cobb's 7-2 win over the Dallas Tigers. Campbell added 4 K's, 3 BB, 1 HBP.

Campbell's fastball hung around the mid 80's and touched 88 mph. Campbell has a live arm and isn't a max effort guy. He's got good command of all his pitches and the ball comes clean, to go along with a fluid delivery.
Braves Grab 6-1 Lead >>
Felton Jones (2010, East Coweta HS, GA) is 2-for-2 with a single, double, and 2-RBI's while Zach Farmer (2010, Newnan HS, GA) has an RBI double to help Dugout Club out to a 6-1 lead against Mustangs.

Christian Venditti (2010, St. Sebastian's HS, MA) went 2-for-4 with a double, home run, and 3-RBI's as the Northeast Rays knocked off SWFL by a score of 12-4. Ross Julian (2011, The Groton School, MA) chipped in a 2-for-2 effort with an RBI, and 2 runs scored.
Rossi Draws a Crowd >>
Northeast Rays righty Phil Rossi (2009, Catholic Memorial HS, MA) is drawing a crowd over at the Clemente Field. You can't miss him considering he's 6'7" and 205 pounds, as he has quite the presence on the rummer. Rossi's fastball has topped at 88 mph while hanging in the mid to upper 80's. With his size, the ball is on the hitter quick, so that 88 mph can seem a lot  faster. Rossi is definitly projectable and seems to have control over his 6'7" frame.
Bedrosian Lighting Up Radar Guns >>
Chili Dogs righty Cameron Bedrosian (2010, East Coweta HS, GA) looked dominate in his 1 inning of work today against Florida Diamond Pros, as he struck out the side. Bedrosian threw effortlessly in the 92-94 mph range. He also mixed in a shap 12-to-6 curve ball that has lot late break. Bedrosian has great size (6'0" 200 pounds) and is very projectable.

Overstreet has a lean, strong body, and brings a good defensive game to go along with his solid approach at the plate. He's got good range and strong accurate arm from the third base.

On the mound for Dulins was Matt Williams (2010, Memphis University, TN) who threw all 5 innings, scattered 8 hits, and allowed just 2 earned runs. He added 4 K's and walked 2 batters.
Lefty Foriest Grabbing Attention >>
Franklin Outlaws lefty Nathan Foriest (2010, Harpeth HS, TN) is pitching well early in his outing against the St. Louis Pirates. Through 2 innings, Foriest has yet to allow a hit or a run, while striking out 4 and wallking 3. Foriest has an athletic body at 6'2" and 190 pounds and his fastball is running 88-89 mph, while touching 90 mph. He also has a curve ball at around 78 mph, but his fastball is his best pitch as he's able to command the entire strike zone. He's also made a few good defensive plays too, getting off the mound quickly to throw out a couple of guys trying to bunt their way aboard.
Liorens Looks Strong >>
On the mound for the South Florida Prospects is righty Dixon Liorens (2010, Forest Hill HS, Fla). Liorens features an interesting delivery that's different than just about most we've seen in this tournament. He's got a real high leg kick which he seems to use as a timing device. Going along with the leg kick is a side arm delivery that can be comparable to that of Billy Wanger (but right handed). He's got a lot of life and movement on his fastball that has topped at 86 mph, while mixing in a curve at around 70's. It's also tough picking the ball up out of his hand and he doesn't change his motion when he goes from fastball to curve.
Dulins Up Early on Team Reebok >>
Kelly Myers (2010, Memphis University, TN) has walked and scored in the Dulins half of the 1st inning to give them an early 1-0 lead heading to the top of the 2nd.

Myers drew a one out walk and would later steal 2nd and 3rd before scoring on a sac fly to right field. Myers got great jumps heading into both 2nd and 3rd where the catcher really didn't have a chance. He read the pitcher well and was able to get good jumps, almost taking walking leads. Myers really isn't a speed guy, so this is somthing you want to see.

Astros Defeat Reebok 15-0 in 3 Innings >>

The East Cobb Astros hit there way to a 15-0 win over Team Reebok. The game went final afte just 3 innings. Andrew Toles (2010, Sandy Creek HS, GA) went 3-for-3 with a double, 2 triples, 2 RBI's, and 2 runs scored. Toles has above average speed, and cuts the bases really well. He's got pop on his bat to go along with a smooth swing, as all 3 of his hits were over the outfielders heads.

On the mound for East Cobb was Alex Hegner (2011, Pope HS, Fla). Hegner threw all 3 innings for the Astros, allowed just 1 hit and no runs or walks.

On the mound for East Cobb was Kyle Burchfield (2009, Harrison HS, Fla) Burchfield is a big guy (6'5" 225 pounds) and is real raw. His fastball is in the high 80's and if he works on his delivery, his velocity could go up.

Orlando Wins Pitcher's Dual, 3-1 >>

Orlando got 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning and went silent the rest of the way. But it was all they needed as the Scorpions defeated the Atlanta Blue Jays by a score 3-1.

Leonard stepped in and pitched great, going 7 innings while allowing just 2 hits and no runs. He also added 8 strike outs. He pitched in the mid 80's, with a good curve that hung around 70-71 mph range. He's got good command and attacked the strike zone, and used his 3/4 arm slot to get some movement on his pitches.

For the Blue Jays, Delino Deshields (2010, Woodland Academy, GA) really shined. He was 1-for-3 with a single and stolen base, while scoring the only run for Atlanta.
