15-Red vs 17-White Highlights >>

1/3/2016 3:16:00 PM

Emanuel Fernandez (2017 LHP, Lake Worth, FL): Fernandez has a strong, athletic, and projectable body to go along with a powerful, quick swing. He drilled a line drive double over the CF's head, and the Miami commit should continue to add raw power moving forward.

Bobby Ballew (2017 OF, St. Petersburg, FL): Ballew went 2-2 in game action with a pair of singles, showing good ability to match plane with barrel control and spray line drives. He also runs very well, racking up several stolen bases.

Anthony Frechette (2018 C, West Chester, PA): Frechette doubled in his only at bat and eventually came around to score, showing a solid combo of athleticism and pop in his swing. He also projects pretty well behind the plate.

Jonathan Gates (2018 LHP, Brooksville, FL): Gates was tremendous in his 3 innings, working 84-87 and topping at 88 from a loose, easy arm action and delivery. His slider was sharp and biting; his curveball had great spin and depth, and his changeup mimicked the fastball extremely well with diving action. He is a very high end prospect.

David Hendrick (2017 SS, Foley, AL): Hendrick had 4 strikeouts over 2 innings, powering his fastball by hitters in the low-mid 80's, topping at 85. He flashed advanced feel for a diving changeup and could make huge strides in the spring.

Garrett Hastings (2017 OF, Gainesville, FL): Hastings is a highly athletic prospect who showed some serious speed in game, singling on a ground ball and clocking 4.21 seconds down the line. He also showed good ability to track balls in the OF, again using that speed to his advantage.

He consistently put pressure on the defense by being quick on his feet, taking an extra base, and even scoring when the opposing team seemingly forgot about him. A very cerebral performance.

Jonathan Hirschland (2017 RHP, Milton, GA): Hirschland showed a heavy, sinking fastball that touched 82 MPH, and also mixed in a solid slider/changeup combination, mixing in all 3 pitches with effectiveness over 4 innings. He allowed only 2 hits and struck out a pair as well.
