FTB Pride Into Champ Game With 11-10 Win >>

In what was undoubtedly the most entertaining game of the tournament, FTB Pride held on for an 11-10 win over Chet Lemon's Juice, in a game that featured two of the country's most talented teams.

FTB Pride double play combination of SS Oscar Mercado (2013, Gaither HS, Tampa, FL) and 2B Christian Arroyo (2013, Hernando HS, Spring Hill, FL) continue to show why they are two of the most highly regarded players in the 2013 class. Both are excellent defenders with quick feet, smooth actions and arm strength. They also are two projectable bats with strength and bat speed.

FTB Pride RHP Jeff Passantino (2014, Bishop Verot HS, Fort Myers, FL) topped at 84 and LHP Nate Brecklin (2012, Eustis, FL HS) also topped at 84. Juice RHPs Luke Heyer (2014, Durant HS, Lithia, FL) topped at 82, Connor Wentz (2012, Dunnellon, FL HS) at 84, and Dylan Barrow (2011, Durant HS, Tampa, FL) and Tyler Danish (2013, Durant HS, Brandon, FL) were 88 and 85 respectively after each had topped at 91 earlier in the tournament.

Hitting highlights for the Juice were a game tying three run homerun by Alex Merritt (2013, Trinity Catholic, Ocala, FL) and two roped doubles by 2B George Ragsdale (21012, North Port, FL HS).

Upstate Mavericks moved on to the 18u East Championship with a 12-4 win over the Dirtbags. It was a back and forth affair between two of the top travel teams from the Carolinas until a two run fifth and a six run sixth gave Upstate a run rule win.

The offensive star of the game was Cory Cremonese (2013, Boiling Springs, SC HS) who went 3-3, doubling, tripling, and driving in six runs. He is a strong, athletic player with a short, compact swing and lots strong hands and wrists. Kevin Brantley (2012, Wekiva HS, Apopka, FL) had three hits and Spencer Sox (212, White Knoll HS, Columbia, SC) also had a pair of singles.

Upstate starting pitcher LHP Vinnie Rosace (2013, Lake Mary, FL HS) topped at 87, and relievers RHP John Robert Rogers (2013, White Knoll HS, Lexington, SC) and RHP Kyle Foster (2013, Blue Ridge HS, Greer, SC) were up to 83 and 84.

Dirtbags used four different pitchers on the day. Zach Garrison (2013, Northern HS, Durham NC) topped at 83, JD Cook (2013, TC Roberson HS, Arden, NC) at 78, LHP Jeremy Johnson (2013, Rocky Mount HS, Rocky Mount, NC) at 79, and LHP Braxton Davidson (2014, TC Roberson HS, Arden, NC) at 83.

The Dirtbags roster is loaded up and down with future ACC and SEC players, the bat that stood out the most was Braxton Davidson who continued a hot tournament, showing big bat speed and power, driving the ball to the middle of the field.

Upstate Mavericks 18U defeated CBC River Hawks 17U thanks to RHP Hunter Donaldson (2012, North Henderson High School, Edneyville, NC) who threw a complete game through 5 innings, striking out 3 batters and allowing only 2 hits.  Donaldson's loose arm action and good follow through helped him throw 36 strikes out of 57 total pitches.  His fastball averaged between 78-80 mph and was clocked at 84 mph.  Donaldson's consistent pitching through all 5 frames helped the Mavericks take down the River Hawks with a score of 8-0.

Kevin Brantley (2012, Wekiva, Apopka, FL) had a strong performance with his bat today and was a disruption when on base, going 2-3 while stealing 2 bases, bringing in an RBI and scoring a run himself.  His quickness and good instincts when on base helped him get on base and bring in runs to assist in the Maverick's victory.  Brantley also showed his athleticism on defense with his quick release and good arm strength to help back Donaldson and only allow the River Hawks to get 2 hits throughout the game.

Michael McClellan (2012, Union Grove, McDonough, GA) was 2-2 from the plate today with a double, bringing in 1 run for the Upstate Mavericks 18U team.  Spencer Sox (2012, White Knoll, Columbia, SC) also helped drive in 2 of the Mavericks's 8 runs while going 1-2 on the day today to help improve their record to 6-0 in the tournament.

Gm # 171 | 5/28/2012 | 9:00 AM FTB Pride vs. Orlando Scorpions Underclass Purple
Oscar Mercado (2013, Gaither, Tampa, FL) had a big day in FTB Pride's 5-4 victory over the Orlando Scorpions Underclass Purple. He went 3-4 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI, and 1 stolen base from the lead-off spot, including a triple to CF in the 3rd. The Florida State commit is ranked 3 for the class of 2013 according to Perfect Game. Mercado showed solid defensive skills along with an accurate arm. He is a line drive contact hitter with raw power and a live bat.

Chase Vogelbach (2012, Bishop Verot, North Fort Myers, FL) was 3-3 with 1 run scored for the FTB Pride. He had a double to LF and 2 singles on the day. Vogelbach has a live bat and stays inside the ball well.

Joe Jimenez (2013, International Baseball Academy, Bayamon, PR) earned the win for the FTB Pride. He pitched 5.2 innings and struck out 5 batters. Jimenez showed good mound presence and attacked hitters with a fastball that ranged from 82-89 mph and topped out at 90 mph. He mixes in a good slider that he can throw on both sides of the plate which was in the low-70's. He has projectable stuff and a big frame.

Dash Winningham (2014, Trinity Catholic, Ocala, FL) was 2-3 for the Orlando Scorpions Underclass Purple. He had a line drive RBI single along with an RBI double. Winningham hit the ball well showing power potential and good bat speed.

The Dirtbags and Orlando Scorpions 17U Purple were all knotted up 1-1 after 4 innings, but the tie didn't last long.  The Dirtbags got 2 runs in the 5th and 1 more in the 6th inning to secure the 4-1 victory over the Orlando Scorpions 17U Purple.

Gavin Culler (2013, West Forsyth HS, Clemmons, NC) was solid at the plate for the Dirtbags batting a perfect 3-3. 

Wood Myers (2013, Charles E Jordan HS, Chapel Hill, NC) helped build the lead for the Dirtbags in the top of the 5th inning with an RBI single to LF.  The North Carolina commit finished with 2 RBIs in the win.

Logan Koch (2013, South Mecklenburg HS, Charlotte, NC), the South Carolina commit and 154th rated player in his class, finished 1-3 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Christopher Silber (2013, Sanderson HS, Raleigh, NC) doubled in his only appearance at bat.  Silber later crossed the plate for the Dirtbags final run.  The right-hander also tossed 3 strong innings allowing 1 hit and no runs.  Christopher struck out 4 and maintained speed on his fastball between 85-89mph. 

Taylor Batch (2013, Jensen Beach HS, Stuart, FL) pitched 4 innings for the Scorpions. The RHP ranked in the top 200 nationally for his class had things going early allowing 1 run on just 2 hits.  Batch struck out 7 and stayed consistent on his fastball with speeds between 84-88mph.  His outing wasn't quite enough though as he was given the loss.

Brett Morales (2013, King HS, Tampa, FL), the 98th nationally rated player in his class, showed some good heat on his fastball in 2 innings of play for the Scorpions peaking at 92mph.

Top Prospects Lead the Way for Chet's Lemon Juice >>
Chet Lemon's Juice 18U is full of top prospects, and they proved their potential in a 4-1 victory over Hardcore Baseball Black 18U in their first quarterfinal game.

2013 Tyler Danish (Brandon, FL, Durant HS), a Florida commit who is ranked 59th nationally, pitched all 7 innings for Lemon's Juice allowing 4 hits, 1 run and recording 6 strikeouts. He had a strikeout percentage of 78.1%. His fastball ranged from 84-87 and peaked at 88mph. Danish has a good fastball and showed good arm speed.

Also for Lemon's Juice, 2012 Richie Martin (Brandon, FL, Bloomingdale HS), a Florida commit ranked in the top 150, went 2-4 and 2012 George Ragsdale (North Port, FL, North Port HS), a Virginia commit ranked in the top 200, went 2-3. 2013 Connor Wentz (Dunnellon, FL, Dunnellon HS), ranked in the top 400, went 1-2 with an RBI. Wentz showed patience as a linedrive contact hitter. Finally, 2013 Justin Ambrosino (Valrico, FL, Bloomingdale HS) went 2-3 with 2 RBI's. Ambrosino is a patient hitter with a confident approach.

For Hardcore Baseball, 2013 Brian Hernandez (Miami, FL, Braddock HS) went 1-2 with an RBI. 2012 Ryan Quintero (Miami, FL, Sunset HS) pitched 5 1/3 innings recording 4 strikeouts. Quintero's fastball peaked at 82mph. He showed good extension out front, good follow through, and good hip rotation.

Dirtbags scored three to beat FTB Chandler 17U in the bottom of the eighth. Cameron Snow (2013, Riverside, NC) singled in two to give the Dirtbags an 8-7 victory. Braxton Davidson (2014, TC Robinson, NC) was a perfect 3 for 3 with a triple and three RBI's.  He also walked.  Wood Myers (2013, Charles E Jordan, NC) had two hits in the win.  Samson Cavanaugh (2013, Eugene Ashley, NC) started for the Dirtbags.  He pitched 3 1/3 innings and struck out one.  His fastball topped off at 87 mph. Parker Johnson (2013, TC Robinson, NC) pitched the last three innings.  He struck out six and walked one. His fastball was between 86-88 mph and reached 90. 

Chris Okey (2013, Eustis, FL) went 2 for 3 with a walk.  Colby Bortles (2013, Oviedo, FL) had two hits and two RBI's.  One of his hits was a double. Castro pitched two innings and struck out one.  His fastball topped out at 88 mph. Nick Longhi (2013, Venice, FL) pitched 3 1/3 innings and struck out three.  He only allowed one run and his fastball reached 89 mph.

Upstate Mavericks 18U squeezed by the FTB Mizuno 17U in their 2-1 win. Evan Challenger (2012, Mt Dora, FL) pitched five innings for the Mavericks.  He allowed two hits, walked one and struck out nine. His fastball was between 82-84 mph and topped out at 86.  He throws strikes and was around the plate 68% of the time. Vinnie Rosace (2013, Lake Mary, FL) came in to pitch the last two innings. He only allowed one hit and walked one.  His fastball topped out at 87 mph. Jordan Brabo (2013, Blue Ridge, SC) led the offense with two hits and came around to score once. 

Logan Browning (2014, Lakeland Christian, FL) pitched five innings and struck out four.  His fastball's range was 83-85 and reached 87 mph.  Cre Finfrock (2014, Jensen Beach, FL) pitched the last innings for Mizuno.  He struck out three and his fastball topped out at 89 mph.  Evan Cannon (2014, Tampa Jesuit, FL) went 1 for 2.

Dylan Barrow (2011, Durant, FL) pitched a shutout for the Chet Lemon's Juice 18U 2-0 win against West Palm Beach Post 12. Barrow allowed two hits, walked two and struck out 15.  His lively fastball was between 86-88 mph and it reached 92. He was around the plate 64% of the time. Josh Greene (2013, Forest, FL) and Richie Martin (2012, Bloomingdale, FL) both had an RBI for the Juices. 

Austin Spitz (2014, Wellington, FL) pitched six innings for West Palm Beach.  He allowed one earned run and struck out two.  Jared Tosner (2012, Wellington, FL) and Colton Coates (2012, Glades Day, FL) both had a hit.

Dash Winningham (2014, Trinity Catholic, FL) went a perfect 3 for 3 in the Orlando Scorpions Underclass Purple 13-1 win over the Florida Hardballers 17U.  Winningham had a double, came in to score twice and drove in four runs.  Brendan Rodgers (2015, Lake Mary, FL) went 2 for 2 with a triple and two RBI's. Garrett Hall (2014, Deland, FL) also had two hits with an RBI.  John Jones (2014, East River, FL) and Jonah Garrison (2015, Boone, FL) both went 2 for 3 and each had an RBI.  Thomas Headley (2014, First Academy, FL) pitched four innings and only allowed one run.  His fastball topped out at 81 mph.

Jason Plyn (2014, Lake City, FL) pitched 2 1/3 innings and struck out two.  His fastball was between 81-83 mph and reached 84 mph. Zack Money (2014, Madison County, FL) pitched 2/3 of a inning and his fastball topped out at 85 mph.  Dalton Duty (2013, Palatka, FL) and Tucker Neuhaus (2013, Tampa Wharton, FL) both went 2 for 2 for the Hardballers.

Matt Deegan (2013, Ponte Vedra, FL) pitched a gem in the CBC River Hawks 17U win over the Orlando Scorpions 17U Black.  Deegan pitched seven innings, allowed three hits, and struck out eight.  His good fastball was between 83-85 mph and topped out at 88 mph. He was around the plate 64% of the time. Joe Shimko (2014, Mandarin, FL) doubled in the bottom of the fifth to drive in two runs.

Mitchell Jordan (2013, Lake Brantley, FL) pitched four innings for the Scorpions and struck out give.  He only allowed two earned runs and walked zero.  His fastball was between 81-85 mph and topped out at 86.  His pitches were around the plate 70% of the time. Tucker Ellis (2013, South Lake, FL) pitched the last innings and struck out one.  His fastball topped out at 84 mph.  Marshall Johnson (2013, Lake Mary, FL) singled and drove in a run for the Scorpions.

Hardcore Baseball Black 18U struck early and scored 8 runs in the bottom of the first to beat the Orlando Scorpions Underclass Black 12-4.  Both Tyler Selesky (2012, Estero, FL) and Spangler went 3 for 4 and each with an RBI.  Spangler had a double and a triple. Michael Paez (2013, Miami Sunset, FL) and Javy Garcia (2012, Doral, FL) helped out by going 2 for 4 and both had an RBI.  Alex Marquez (2012, Miami Coral Park, FL) and Mikey Perez (2013, Killian, FL) both smacked two hits for the Hardcores and stole a base. Gabriel Lorenzo (2012, Braddock, FL) pitched six complete innings and struck out three.  He only allowed one earned run.  His fastball was in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph.

Adam Polansky (2014, Dr. Phillips, FL) pitched 4 2/3 innings for the Scorpions.  He stuck out two and walked zero.  His fastball topped out at 83 mph.  Nic Strasser (2014, Dr. Phillpis, FL) and Kale Latorre (2014, West Orange, FL) both had two hits.

Orlando Scorpions score 12 runs in the bottom of the third to get a 13-1 win over Prosource Travel Baseball 17U. Damon Haecker (2013, Lake Brantley, FL) went 2 for 3 with two RBI's and came around to score twice.  Top prospect Alan Archer, (2013, West Orange, FL) who has already committed to UCF, went 2 for 2 with an RBI and also came around to score twice. Another top prospect on the Scorpions team, Carson Sands (2014, North Florida Christian, FL), pitched three innings and struck out five.  He only allowed one earned run on three hits.  His fastball was between 86-88 mph and topped off at 91 mph. Gunnar McNeill (2013, West Orange, FL) came in to close the game.  He pitched one innings and struck out one.  His fastball topped off at 86 mph.

Michael Mule (2013, West Boca, FL) led the Prosouce offense by going 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI. Anthony Delaney (2013, Summit Christian, FL) pitched 2 1/2 innings and struck out three.  He was around the plate 66% of the time and his fastball topped out at 86 mph.

Tyler Howe (2012, Lakeland, FL) pitched seven innings and helped his team, FTB Pride, win against the Miami Suns 17U.  In the 7-0 win, Howe struck out three, walked zero, and gave up only two hits. His fastball was between 83-85 mph and topped off at 86 mph. His pitches were around the strike zone 65% of the time. Top prospect Willies Estrada did his part by going 3 for 4 with one RBI.  With his fluid stroke and quick bat, Oscar Mercado (2013, Gaither, FL) went 1 for 3 with an RBI and a walk.  He is a top prospect and has already committed to Florida State.

Mateo Cuecha (2013, Hialeah Miami Lakes, FL) pitched three innings and walked only two for the Suns.  His fastball was around the low 80's and topped off at 83 mph.

Both teams were only able to collect 2 hits, however, FTB Chandler 17U was able to score 5 runs. FTB Chandler 17U was able to beat Fajardo Cariduros 5-1, thanks to a 4 run 7th inning.

Eugene Vazquez (2013, Timbercreek, Orlando, FL) collected the teams only 2 hits, both singles. Vazquez' 2 RBI's both came in the 7th inning and helped secure the win. Vazquez is an aggressive hitter with good extension, and he has raw power. The UCF commit ranks 85 for the class of 2013 according to Perfect Game.

David McKay (2013, Viera, Melbourne, FL) pitched 3 innings for FTB Chandler 17U striking out 4. The 6'3" RHP showed good control of his fastball that touched 88 mph, while mixing in a low-70's curveball. He has sound mechanics and throws easy. McKay is ranked 316 for the class of 2013 according to Perfect Game.

Spencer Trayner (2013, Jesuit, Tampa, FL) pitched 2 innings of relief, striking out 2. He has good command with life on his fastball. Trayner's fastball ranged from 84-90 mph. Trayner is a North Carolina commit ranked 27 for the 2013 class according to Perfect Game.
Central Florida Crushers Win Big in 4 innings >>

The Central Florida Crushers' bats lead them to a 13-3 win over Orlando Rays 18U. The Crushers scored 9 runs in the 3rd inning, and added another in the 4th to end the game early.

Chris Frey (2012, Country Side, Clearwater, FL) had a big day going 3-3 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI. Frey collected a single, double and triple for the Crushers. Frey is an aggressive hitter with a fluid stroke and good bat speed. He makes line drive contact regularly.

Sayge Woodham (2013, George Jenkins, Lakeland, FL) also went 3-3 for the Crushers, all singles. He had 2 RBI's and had 1 stolen base.

Brian Ortiz (2012, PR Baseball Academy, Curabo, PR) was 1-3 with 2 RBI and 1 stolen base for the Orlando Rays 18U. Ortiz is a patient hitter with a fluid stroke and quick bat speed. He showed quickness out of the box and on the bases.

CBC River Hawks 17U get six early runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and tack on 2 more in the sixth for the 8-1 win over the Florida Sox.

Buddy Harbuck (2014, Seabreeze HS, Ormond Beach, FL) & Joe JJ Shimko (2014, Mandarin HS, Jacksonville, FL) each have 2 hits in the game for the CBC River Hawks 17U.  Harbuck finished the game batting 2-2 with 3 RBIs. Shimko finished 2-3 with a double, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.

Cameron Paley (2013, Bishop Kenny HS, Jacksonville, FL) pitched 3 2/3 innings for the CBC River Hawks 17U allowing 2 hits and no runs. Paley struck out 3 batters and had consistent speed between 79-82 mph on his fastball. 

Omar Colon (2014, Osceola HS, Kissimmee, FL) went 1-2 in the game and provided the Florida Sox with their lone run batted in.

At City of Palms park the Miami Panthers Prospect League defeated the GCT Storm 10-5. the 10-Hit Attack was lead by Marcos Bolanos (2015, Brito HS, FL) who went 3-3 with a run scored. Darian Perez (2015, John A. Ferguson HS, FL) went 2-2 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Andres Castillo (2013, Brito HS, FL) had a 2-run triple for the Panthers. Steven Paredes (2012, Southridge HS, FL) went 1-3 with 2 RBIs, a run scored, and a stolen base. On the hill for the Panthers was Richard Noa (2012, Archbishoip Coleman HS, FL) who worked 4 innings earning the win. 

For the Storm Brad Miller (2013, Indian Rocks Christian, FL) and Kevin Griffith (2013, Palm Harbor HS, FL) each had a double, a wlk, and an RBI in two trips to the plate. Miller also scored a run.

Tampa Bay Warriors 18U led FTB Mizuno 17U 5-0 early on, but FTB Mizuno 17U didn't go away as they clawed back and tied the game 5-5 after four innings.  In the top of the 6th inning, a passed ball followed by a sacrifice bunt advanced Eddie Goscicki (2013, JW Mitchell HS, New Port Richey, FL) to third base.  A balk on the next play brought home Goscicki and the run provided Tampa Bay Warriors 18U with the win in six innings. 

Chase Turner (2013, George M. Steinbrenner HS, Odessa, FL) & Chad Witkowski (2011, Steinbrenner HS, Wesley Chapel, FL) each went 2-3 with 1 run scored in the game for Tampa Bay. Turner showed he is a great athlete with high baseball IQ.  He had a live bat with a sound hitting approach.  Witkowski had a strong, athletic build and was an aggressive hitter with excellent bat speed and raw power.

Cody Beckman (2013, Alonso HS, Tampa, FL) pitched 88 pitches in 4 innings allowing six hits and 3 earned runs.  The LHP for Tampa Bay collected 10 strikeouts in the game and got the win.  Beckman was consistent in the game with speeds between 84-87mph with a peak at 88mph.

Edwin Bonilla (2013, Osceola HS, Kissimmee, FL), the top prospect from FTB Mizuno 17U, finished the game 1-2 with one run scored. Bonilla had quick feet, soft hands, and fluid defensive actions in the infield.  He was a high energy player with good instincts.

Manny Rodriguez (2013, Lake Nona HS, Orlando, FL) pitched 4 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 run scored for FTB Mizuno 17U. Rodriguez struck out 3 batters, but was given the loss in the game. 
Santiago's Homerun Not Enough for P21 18U >>

P21 18U trailed 6-2 in the bottom of the 5th until Jean Michael Santiago (2013, Freedom, Orlando, FL) hit a 2-run blast over the CF wall. P21 failed to score again, giving Bradenton RBI the 6-4 win. He also had a single earlier in the game. Santiago has a large frame with a compact swing.

Francisco Miguel Del Rio Pantoja (2013, Carlos Beltran Baseball, Vega Baja, PR) was 2-2 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI for P21 18U.

Bradenton RBI got a good game from Connor Davis (2012, Sarasota Booker, Sarasota, FL) who went 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Davis connected on a line drive double to LF in the first inning and later added a line drive single. He has a large frame with a strong lower half. Davis has a fluid stroke and a line drive swing plane.

Josh Serota (2013, Cypress Bay HS, Weston, FL) hit the sacrifice fly that scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the 6th.

Manny Pantaelon (2015, JP Taravella HS, Coral Springs, FL) used his balanced delivery to throw 3 innings allowing 0 runs on 3 hits and 2 BB's. Pantaleon had cut action on his fastball which helped him strike out 3. Ostingers' LHP Ryan Tauscher (2013, Newsome HS, Valrico, FL) had sound mechanics as he threw 3 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. Tauscher's 11/5 curveball was working well as he struck out 4 batters.

Offensively, the South Florida Lighting scored 6 runs on 9 hits. Rafael Marin (2013, Cypress Bay HS, Weston, FL) went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Maximo Gomez-Rizek (2013, Carol Morgan HS, Miami, FL) used his good bat speed to go 2-for-3 with a double, 2 RBI's, and a run scored. Rizek gets in good position to throw and he has the ability to throw from all arm angles. Hernandez threw 77% strikes and and used mostly a fastball that reached 85 mph, to get the win for Hardcore. Straw pitched 5 innings allowing 3 hits while striking out 6. Straw threw 71% strikes and had riding life on his fastball that reached 84 mph. Schappacher pitched the last inning for Suncoast. Straw also got the job done at the plate for Suncoast. He went 3-4 with a double, triple, 3 RBIs, a run scored, and a stolen base out of the lead off spot. Teammate Blake Bunch (2013, IMG Academies, FL) went 2-2 with a double and a run scored.

Machonis showed he was a top prospect at the plate and in the field with good fielding actions and a fluid stroke at the plate.

Hardcore Baseball Red (18U) used a 6-run 4th to knock off the Florida Baseball Academy (18U) 9-5 today at the Spring training home of the Tampa Bay Rays. The 6 run inning was capped off by a 2-run line drive homer to left field by Michael Centeno (2013, Miami Sunset HS, FL). Centeno showed he is a top prospect by using his power and large, athletic frame. Justin Sujo (2012, Sunset HS, FL) pitched a scoreless 5th striking out 1 in his one inning of work.

Top 300 nationally ranked player Blaze Vazquez (2013, Naples HS, FL) homered in the bottom of the 6th inning to give Team IMPACT 18U another insurance run.  Vazquez had a live bat with power potential and finished the game 1-2 with 1 RBI. 

Sammy Bozza (2013, Seacrest Country Day HS, Naples, FL), Nick Faur (2012, Gulf Coast HS, Naples, FL), & Austin Langham (2013, Barron Collier HS, Naples, FL) each went 1-2 in the game as well.  Bozza and Faur finished with 2 RBIs each while Langham tripled and had 1 RBI.

The West Palm Beach Post 12 improved to 2-1 in tournament play by beating Orlando Baseball Academy 2013 7-3 in six innings. The game was played at Lee County Sports Complex, Sunday Morning.

RHP Mitchell Evelyn (2013, Kings Academy HS, Wellington, FL) worked fast and kept hitters off balance while pitching 4 2/3 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits and 3 BB. Evelyn struck out 2 with the help of his good curveball. Orlando's Chris McCormick (2013, JW Mitchell HS, Trinity, FL) pitched well in relief while going 1 1/3 innings allowing 0 runs on 0 hits and striking out 2. McCormick has an overtop arm angle with a fastball that averages 80-83 mph and a 12/6 curveball that has a good break.

Offensively, West Palm scored 7 runs on 10 hits. Kevin Aubry (2012, Palm Beach Central HS, Wellington, FL) used his aggressiveness to go 2-for-4 with 2 RBI's and 1 run scored. Aubry has the ability to be a lead-off type hitter. Kaelan Jacobs (2012, Wellington HS Wellington, FL) had a good eye as he went 2-for-3 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Nelson Garcia (2013, DeLand HS, FL) pitched the final 3 innings allowing only 1 hit and striking out 5 to earn the victory. Garcia worked 79-82 with his fastball and used his curveball as his out pitch to shut down the Heat in the final 3 innings. For CFBL Steven Miles (2013, The Masters Academy, FL) doubled with the bases loaded in his only at bat in the 5th inning to cut the Heat lead to 5-4.

The Dirtbags got 5 runs in the 3rd inning and finished with 8 runs on 10 hits.  CRFS Baseball 18U tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the 2nd inning, but couldn't keep up and lost 8-4 after seven innings.

Jeremy Johnson (2013, Rocky Mount HS, NC) got things going early for the Dirtbags in the top of the 3rd inning with a double that scored one run. Johnson finished the game 1-2 with 3 RBIs. Davis Kirkpatrick (DH Conley HS, Greenville, NC) followed up Johnson's double with a single that scored one more run.  The East Carolina commit finished 1-3 with 1 RBI.

The last three runs for the Dirtbags in the 3rd inning came from Matt Vernon (2013, Forsyth Country Day HS, Winston-Salem, NC). Orlando Scorpions Black beat the North Florida Storm 18U 5-0.

For the Scorpions, 2013 Michael Flaherty (Orlando, FL, Dr. Phillips HS) and 2013 Kevin Fuller (Ocala, FL, Trinity Catholic HS) doubled back-to-back in the bottom of the 5th inning. Flaherty went 2-2 and Fuller, an aggressive hitter with a confident approach, went 1-1 with 2 RBI's. 

Top prospect for the Scorpions, 2013 Codey Conway (Orlando, FL, Winter Park HS) pitched 4 innings allowing 1 hit with no runs and no errors. Conway has a projectable frame and showed good extension out front, loos arm action and smooth delivery.

The Orlando Scorpion 17U Purple scored 7 runs on 8 hits to beat the St. Pete Stars 7-2 in seven innings at five-Plex-Former Red Sox Spring Training Site, Field four on Sunday. The Scorpions are 4-0 in the tournament thus far.

Gunnar McNeill (2013, West Orange HS, Windermere, FL) led the offensive attack for the Scorpion by being aggressive and going 2-for-2 with 3 RBI's. MT Minacci (2013, North Florida Christian HS, Tallahassee, FL) had a solid day at the plate as he went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored. Ryan Larson (2013, Dr. Phillips HS, Orlando, FL) with his line drive swing went 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored. Larson continues to have a good tournament following a 2 RBI performance in Saturday's win over the Players Edge Cobras.

RHP Joseph Starling (2013, Bartow HS, Bartow, FL) worked fast in his 3 innings of pitching. Starling allowed 0 runs on 1 hit and 3 walks, while striking out 5. Starling's fastball is very good, he averaged 84-88 mph and it peaked at 89 mph.

The Stars' LHP Travis Carden (2014, Osceola High HS, St. Petersburg, FL) pitched very well in relief. Carden, the crafty left, pitched 2 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 ER, while striking out 3.

Scott Benedict Baseball beat the South Florida Marlins 6-0. Their victory was topped off by top prospect 2013 Ian Hagenmiller (West Palm Beach, FL, Palm Beach Central HS), a Miami commit who is ranked 74th nationally. Hagenmiller went 1-2 with a triple in the 4th inning. He has a large frame with raw power at bat. 

2012 Hunter Kyzar (Lake Worth, FL, Santaluces HS) went 3-3 with 2 RBI's for Scott Benedict. Kyzar also pitched 3 innings, with his fastball peaking at 84mph. Kyzar is athletic and strong and showed a good arm. 2013 John Padich (Lake Worth, FL, Palm Beach Central HS) pitched the other 4 innings, allowing no hits and recording 6 strikeouts.

The score was knotted up at 1-1 between Orlando Scorpions Underclass Black and Florida Pokers 18U White as the game headed into the bottom of the 7th inning.  Orlando Scorpions Underclass Black got a walk-off double by Michael Jenks (2014, Lake Brantley HS, Apopka, FL) to get the 2-1 victory.  It was Jenks only hit of the game, but he made it count. Jenks finished 1-3 with 1 RBI.

Austin Hale (2014, Trinity Prep, Winter Springs, FL) had a good game at the plate for Orlando.  Hale went 2-2 in the game with 1 RBI.

Ben Wright (2014, Citrus HS, Inverness, FL) lasted 4 innings for the Orlando Scorpions Underclass Black allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run.  Wright had a projectable frame with a smooth delivery and good extension out front.

John King gave six good innings for Florida Pokers 18U White, but it wasn't quite enough to get the win.  King allowed 3 hits, 1 run, and struck out 4.

2012 Donovan Christman (Orlando, FL, Pine Castle Christian HS) went 1-3 with 3 RBI's and a double for the Clutch. His double was part of a 5-run stretch scored by the Clutch in the 4th inning. 2012 John Krauss (Orlando, FL, Boone HS) went 3-4 with 3 RBI's and a double as well. Krauss' double came late in the 6th inning to close out the game. 

2013 Brent Huber (Orlando, FL, Boone HS) pitched 5 innings for the Clutch, recording 3 strikeouts. 

2012 Cory Pawnall (Debary, FL, University HS) pitched 5 1/3 innings for the Renegades and recorded 3 strikeouts.

Mason McQuaig (2013, South Lake HS, Mascotte, FL) doubled in the bottom of the 4th inning for the Scorpions 17U and finished the game 2-2 with 1 RBI. McQuaig had a quick bat with a fluid stroke.

Austin Goodson (2013, Ocoee HS, FL) pitched 4 good innings for Next Level Scorpions 17U allowing 1 hit and no runs. Goodson struck out 2 in the game.  Replacing Goodson after 4 innings was Lucas Brown (2013, Bishop Moore Catholic, Winter Garden, FL).  Brown pitched 2 innings striking out 5 and allowed 1 hit with 1 earned run.

The GCT Storm had a 6 run 4th inning to help them beat the Florida Pokers 17U White 8-4 in seven innings on Sunday at five-Plex-Former Red Sox Spring Training Site, Field two. Jesse Dingman (2012, Palm Harbor HS, Palm Harbor, FL) displayed good command in relief as he pitched 4 innings, while giving up 5 hits, 0 R, and 0 BB. Dingman threw a lot of fastballs that were explosive at times, his 12/6 curveball was very good. The Pokers' RHP Dameon Concepcion (2013, Coral Springs HS, Coral Springs, FL) had great extension out front as he pitched 2 innings not allowing a hit or a run and striking out 1 in relief.

Offensively, GCT Storm scored 8 runs on 10 hits. Brenden Overton (2014, Tarpon Springs HS, Tarpon Springs, FL) had a solid day at the plate as he went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored. Overton stayed aggressive following his 1-for-3 performance from Saturday's game vs. the CBC River Hawks 17U. Benny Mendizabel (2013, Clearwater Central Catholic HS, Safety Harbor, FL) had a key RBI in the win as he went 2-for-3 with 1 run scored.

The Florida Pokers 17U White scored 4 runs on 9 hits. Matt Fengler (2013, Pompano Beach HS, Pompano Beach, FL) was very confident in his approach while going 2-for-3 with 1 RBI. Fengler drove the ball with regular contact and this is why he is a middle of the order run producer. Conner Prater (2013, Viera HS, Melbourne, FL) used his patience to go 2-for-3 with 1 run scored. Prater has a live bat and has the potential to hit for power.

Florida Burn 18U came out victorious over Tek9 Baseball 6-0. 

2012 Kevin Guthrie (Sarasota, FL, Venice HS), a Brown commit, went 1-4 with 3 RBI's and a double for the Burn. Guthrie's double came in the bottom of the 4th inning, where 4 of his team's 6 runs were scored. Guthrie showed gap to gap hitting with some pop and a sound hitting approach. 2013 Ryan Reinoso (St. Petersburg, FL, Pinellas Park HS) went 1-3 with an RBI and a double. 

2012 Logan Peel (Sarasota, FL, Northeast HS) pitched 4 1/3 innings for the Burn, allowing 3 hits and recording 7 strikeouts. He had a strikeout percentage of 72.6%. Peel's fastball peaked at 85mph. He effectively pitched inside, threw easy and had mound presence. 

2013 Kevin Kirk (Dacula, GA, Mill Creek HS) pitched 3 innings for Tek9 and recorded 4 strikeouts. His fastball was consistent between 77-81 and peaked at 81mph. Kirk has broad shoulders and a projectable frame. He showed control on both sides of the plate and solid arm action.

Score International 18U scored 12 runs on 10 hits and beat the Orlando Nightmares 12-0 in 4 innings.

Three players for Score International 18U had at least 2 RBIs in the game.  Cody Smith (2012, Plant City HS, FL) tripled in the bottom of the 2nd inning and finished 1-3 with 2 RBIs. Brycen Gladbach (2012, Bloomingdale HS, Valrico, FL) had a double, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBIs in the game.  Sam Machonis (2012, Sickles HS, Tampa, FL), the Polk State commit, also hit a triple and finished 2-3 with 4 RBIs.

Hayden Kelley (2012, Gaither HS, Tampa, FL) had a good game as well at the plate for Score International 18U batting 2-2 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Joe Siegfried (2012, Springstead HS, Spring Hill, FL) had good control around the plate with all pitches.  The RHP for Score International 18U had consistent speed between 82-84mph on his fastball.  Siegfried went 3 innings allowing 1 hit, no runs, and struck out 1 batter.

For FTB Chandler, top prospect 2013 Chris Okey (Mt. Dora, FL, Eustis HS) a Clemson commit who is ranked 21st nationally, went 2-3 with a double. Okey showed a confident approach and aggressive hitting. Another prospect, 2013 Nick Longhi (Venice, FL, Venice HS) a Louisiana State commit who is ranked 55th nationally, went 1-3 with a double. Longhi showed good plate coverage and a confident approach. 

2013 Sean Brady (Cape Coral, FL, Ida S. Baker HS), a Florida commit who is ranked in the top 200, pitched 4 innings allowing 1 hit. His fastball stayed consistent in the range of 85-88mph while peaking at 90. Brady showed good command, control on both sides of the plate, good extension out front, outstanding arm speed and a balanced delivery. He recorded 5 strikeouts in the game. 

2013 Griffin Fuller (Debarry, FL, Spruce Creek HS) pitched 5 innings for Florida Burn allowing 3 hits and recording 3 strikeouts. Fuller showed good command and competed on the mound.

The Tampa Bay Warriors had two players record home runs in their win against Team Florida Black. 2012 Joseph Koehler went 1-2 wit 2 RBI's in the game, and his 2-run homer came at the top of the 4th inning to put his team ahead 3-2. The Warriors weren't done yet. In the top of the 5th, 2013 Chandler Chapman (Lutz, FL, Freedom HS), who went 1-2 with an RBI, also hit a home run to close out the game. 

2013 Ethan Lictenberg (Tarpon Springs, FL, Tarpon Springs HS) pitched all 7 innings for the Warriors and recorded 3 strikeouts. His fastball peaked at 82mph. Lictenberg is athletic, works fast and showed deceptive delivery. 

2013 Matthew Majewski (Miami, FL, Palmetto HS) went 1-2 with an RBI and a double for Team Florida. Majewski is an aggressive hitter with a short, compact swing and good plate coverage.

Upstate Mavericks 18U improve to 3-0 with win >>
The Upstate Mavericks 18U scored 1 run in each of the first three innings to take the early lead on the Central Florida Green Jackets. The Mavericks would tack on 2 more runs in the 5th inning and win 5-1 over the Green Jackets.

Hunter Donaldson (2012, North Henderson HS, Edneyville, NC) had an all around good game for the Upstate Mavericks 18U. Donaldson had leverage in his swing, showed a good eye at the plate, and finished the game 2-3 with a double and 1 RBI.  Hunter also pitched 3 innings allowing no hits, struck out 2, and got the save.

Cory Cremonese (2013, Boiling Springs HS, SC), the Winthrop commit, had a good game at the plate as well for the Mavericks. Cremonese had a large, strong frame and was an aggressive hitter going 2-4 with 2 RBIs.

Kyle Foster (Blue Ridge HS, Greer, SC) lasted 4 innings for the Upstate Mavericks 18U.  Foster struck out 7 batters, allowed 3 hits, and one earned run.  Kyle had good command and showed control on both sides of the plate.

Kevin Brantley, (2012, Wekiva HS, Apopka, FL), the Hofstra commit, had solid defensive tools in the infield with soft sure hands. Brantley also doubled in the game.

Orlando Scorpions Underclass Purple was outhit 8 to 10, but they were able to beat Scott Benedict Baseball 6-4 in seven innings at Terry Park, Brett on Sunday. RHP Andrew Karp (2014, West Orange HS, Windermere, FL) with his smooth delivery had a solid outing as he pitched 4 innings allowing 7 hits, 3 runs, 1 ER, 1 BB, while striking out 1. Karp threw a lot of strikes with his fastball which averaged 83-86 mph and topped out at 88 mph. Scott Benedict's Micheal Chambers (2012, Boca Raton HS, Boca Raton, FL) showed solid mechanics as he pitched 4 innings, while allowing 4 hits, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 BB. Chambers was able to strike out 3 with mixing his pitches between a fastball, curveball, change-up and cutter. Chambers was able to pitch effectively inside with his fastball, which averaged 78-81 mph and peaked at 83 mph.

Offensively, the Scorpions were able to score 6 runs on 8 hits. Top prospect John Jones (2014, East River HS, Orlando, FL) used his high energy to go 2-for-2 with 5 RBI's, 2 doubles, and 1 BB. Jones continues to stay hot as he went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI's in the Scorpions' last game vs. the Suncoast Reebok 17U. Jones has a good eye with raw power. Defensively, Jones blocks balls in the dirt very well. He has good arm strength and likes to throw.  Austin Hogan (2014, Boone HS, Orlando, FL) added two hits of his own as he went 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored. Carl Chester (2014, Lake Brantley HS, Longwood, FL) with his open stance went 1-for-3 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored.

Scott Benedict scored 4 runs on 10 hits. Gage Morey (2013, Wellington HS, Wellington, FL) went 2-for-4 with 1 run scored. Joe Shue (2013, Palm Beach Central HS, West Palm Beach, FL) had a good day at the plate as he went 1-for-2 with 1 RBI and 1 BB. Danny Hernandez (2014, Palm Beach Central HS, Lake Worth, FL) went a perfect 2-for-2 with 1 RBI and 1 BB. Hernandez was impressive defensively as he showed his solid defensive tools and his good arm.

2013 Charles Fowler (Mt. Dora, FL, Lakeland Christian HS) pitched all 7 innings for Lemon's Juice. He recorded 10 strikeouts with a strikeout percentage of 78.6%. Fowler showed a smooth delivery and loose arm action. 

2013 Kalen Carter (Key Largo, FL, Island Christian HS) went 1-3 with a double for the Diamond Elite. Carter scored the first and only run for the Elite. 2012 Kida De La Cruz (Miramar, FL, Somerset HS) pitched 4 innings for the Elite and recorded 3 strikeouts. His fastball peaked at 87mph.

Pensacola Pirates scored runs in each of the first four innings as they coast to a 10-1 victory over Suncoast Select 18U.  The Pirates scored 10 runs on 11 hits.

Zac Fowler (2011, Spanish Fort HS, Daphne, AL) got things going early for the Pensacola Pirates with his 2-run HR in the top of the 1st inning.  The top prospect had an athletic build with a projectable frame.  Fowler showed excellent bat speed, a confident approach, and the power to hit the ball to all fields.  Zac Fowler finished the game 1-2 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Logan Clifton (2012, Satsuma HS, AL), Jacob Terry (2012, Navarre HS, FL), Alex Jones (2012, West Florida HS, Pensacola, FL), and Austin Quina (2012, Tate HS, Pensacola, FL) each had 2 hits in the game for the Pirates.  Clifton showed a good eye at the plate and moved well down the lines while running.  Terry, the Jacksonville commit, had good bat speed with power potential. Alex Jones, C for the Pirates, had quick feet with a quick release behind the plate.  He also showed a fluid stroke and good bat speed at the plate. Quina also moved well down the lines running and showed a live bat at the plate.

Austin Ferlita (2012, Bishop Mcglauglin HS, Spring Hill, FL) went 1-2 with a triple and a run scored for the Suncoast Select 18U.

Pitching for the Hardballers, 2013 Sean Kamhoot (Gainesville, FL, PK Yonge HS), ranked in the top 400, pitched 2 innings and recorded 5 strikeouts. Kamhoot threw 42 pitches while peaking at 87mph. 

2013 Alffredi Ramos (Hialeah, FL, Mater Lakes Academy HS), ranked in the top 400, went 1-2 with a double for the Tigers. 2013 Peter Llerena (Pembroke Pines, FL, Mater Lakes Academy HS) pitched all 6 innings for the Tigers and recorded 5 strikeouts. His fastball peaked at 84mph.

East Coast Grays Scout had an early 3-run lead until Florida Baseball Academy 18U put 6 runs on the board after five innings.  East Coast Grays Scout answered in the bottom of the 5th inning as they retook the lead for good on Vincent Miniet's (2013, Tampa Jesuit HS, Odessa, FL) 3-run double.  Miniet finished the game 1-1 with a walk and 4 RBIs.  Vincent's double proved to be just what East Coast needed to get the win.

Leland Saile (2013, Tampa Jesuit HS, Land O' Lakes, FL) added an insurance run for East Coast in the bottom of the sixth inning with his solo HR to LF.  The top prospect had good bat speed and showed raw power.

East Coast Grays Scout's RHP Lawson Vassar (2013, Pulaski Academy, Little Rock, AR) went 4 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run while he struck out 3. Vassar, ranked in the top 350 nationally, had a large frame and a balanced delivery.  The Arkansas commit threw strikes and maintained speed between 81-84mph on his fastball.

Joseph Novis (2012, Lake Gibson HS, Lakeland, FL) & Tate Mathewson (2013, Lake Wales HS, Frostproof, FL) each had a good game at the plate for Florida Baseball Academy 18U.  Novis had a live bat and good bat speed as he finished the game 2-3 with a double and 1 RBI.  Mathewson showed he has gap power with his 2-run double in the top of the 5th inning.  Tate finished the game 2-3 with 2 RBIs.

2014 Braxton Davidson (Arden, NC, TC Roberson HS), ranked 99th nationally, went 2-3 with 4 RBI's and 2 doubles for the Dirtbags. Davidson started things off for his team early in the 1st inning and finished with a 3-run double in the 6th.

Some other top prospects for the Dirtbags had big games as well. 2013 Matt Vernon (Winston-Salem, NC, Forsyth Country Day HS), a North Carolina State commit who is ranked in the top 500, went 1-4 with 2 RBI's and a double. 2013 Davis Kirkpatrick (Greenville, NC, DH Conley HS), an East Carolina commit who is ranked in the top 450, went 2-3 with a double. Kirkpatrick is athletic with a sound hitting approach. 

2013 Matt Davis (Sedalia, NC, Ashley HS) pitched 4 1/3 innings for the Dirtbags and recorded 3 strikeouts. His fastball was consistent between 83 and 85mph while peaking at 86.

2013 Eduardo Espinosa (Miramar, FL, Pines Charter HS) went 1-2 with 2 RBI's and a double for the Bucky Dent Academy.  Espinosa's 2-run double came late in the 5th inning.

Team Xtreme, with a strong pitching performance from LHP Richard Castro (2012, Rivervier HS, Sarasota, FL), defeats Renegades Baseball 18U 5-1 in seven innings at Terry Park, Stadium on Sunday. Castro with his 3/4 arm angle allowed one run over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out 10, walked five and surrendered one hit. Castro had great command and cut action on his fastball which had an average speed of 78-82 mph and peaked at 83 mph. Renegades' starting pitcher was LHP Justin Myers (2012, Matanzas HS, Palm Coast, FL). Myers with his overtop arm angle pitched 4 innings allowing 4 hits, 4 runs, 2 of which were earned and struck out 5.

Offensively, Team Xtreme scored 5 runs on 4 hits. Christian Diaz (2012, Steinbrenner HS, Lutz, FL) and his live bat led the way going 1-for-2 with a double, 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Cristannel Cosmo (2012, Francisco Rodriguez HS, Tampa, FL) had a solid day at the plate by going 1-for-1 with a double and 1 run scored.

En Fuego Baseball 18U had everything going early as they poured on 7 runs in the first 3 innings of play.  Cape Coast Canes responded with 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning and two more runs in the bottom of the 5th.  Those six runs for Cape Coast Canes were all they would get as En Fuego Baseball 18U held on for the 8-6 win.

Jarret Zimmerly (2012, Navarre HS, FL) had a strong game for En Fuego as he showed a good eye at the plate and a confident approach. Zimmerly went 3-4 in the game with a double and 1 RBI. 

Miguel Paulino (2012, Choctawhatchee HS, Fort Walton Beach, FL) & Nick Lowe (2013, Satsuma HS, AL) each had good games for En Fuego Baseball 18U. Paulino finished 2-3 with 1 RBI while Lowe ended the game with 2 RBIs.  Each had one double in the game.

Although allowing 4 earned runs, Beecher Faust (2013, Fairhope HS, AL) for En Fuego went 4 strong innings allowing 4 hits while he struck out 8. Faust worked his arm well, showed sharp downhill arm action, and was consistent on his fastball between 81-84mph. Beecher peaked at 86mph.

Alec Wong (2012, Rockledge HS, FL) put in a good game in the loss for Cape Coast Canes. Wong went 2-4 with 3 RBIs.  Dillion Cooper (Bay Side HS, Palm Bay, FL) finished with a triple and 2 RBIs for Cape Coast.

FTB Pride won their 4th straight game in the East Memorial Day Tournament, this time defeating Team Florida Red 8-2. 

FTB Pride is a team full of top players. 2013 Christian Arroyo (Spring Hill, FL, Hernando HS), a Florida commit who is ranked 68th nationally, went went 1-4 with an RBI. He showed a fluid stroke, balanced swing and a confident approach. 2013 Willies Estrada (Kissimmee, FL, Celebration HS), ranked in the top 350, went 1-2 with 2 RBI's. 

2013 Angel Soto (Orlando, FL, Cypress Creek HS) went 1-2 with a double that came early in the 3rd inning that eventually led to the Pride's first 3 runs. Soto is an aggressive hitter with a fluid stroke and good bat speed. He also showed good instincts on bases. Their pitcher, 2014 Justin Duff (Jacksonville, FL, Trinity Christian HS) pitched all 6 innings, recording 4 strikeouts. Duff showed good command and a balanced delivery. 

For Team Florida, 2012 Shane Castro (Homestead, FL, South Dade HS) went 2-2 with a double and 2012 Alex Fernandez (Miami, FL, Killian HS) went 1-2 with an RBI and a triple. 
2012 LHP Hits 87 MPH in 6-1 Win >>
Dakota Wehde (2012, Flagler Palm Coast, Palm Coast, FL) pitched 5.1 innings for the Central Florida Green Jackets, beating the Elite Performance Baseball Club 6-1. He struck out 6 and walked none. Wehde has a large athletic frame with projectable stuff. He is a crafty left hander that throws easy and has good extension out front. His fastball ranged from 78-83 mph and topped out at 87 mph. Wehde mixed in a good changeup that was in the low-70's.

Robert Lewis (2012, Flagler Palm Coast, Deltona, FL) had a big day going 2-3 with 2 RBI's and 1 run scored. Lewis had a 2-out line drive triple to LF that extended the Green Jackets lead to 6-0.

Ty Turner (2013, Pine Ridge, Deltona, FL) added a 2 RBI line drive double to RF for the Green Jackets.

Bonilla is a line drive contact hitter with pop in his bat. The Bethune-Cookman commit ranks 500 for the class of 2013 according to Perfect Game.

Cre Finfrock (2014, Jensen Beach, Jensen Beach, FL) doubled to LF in the 5th and scored later in the inning. Finfrock is a UCF commit who ranks 80 for the class of 2014 according to Perfect Game.

Burris Warner (2013, Auburndale, Auburndale, FL) got the win for FTB Mizuno 17U pitching 4 innings without giving up a hit. Billy Larrimore (2013, Ida Baker, FL) pitched flawlessly for the SWFL Underclass team. Larrimore pitched 7 innings giving up one earned run off of no hits. Larrimore had a smooth online delivery with good extension out front. He had good command with all of his pitches and could place pitches on both sides of the plate well. Larrimore threw mainly fastballs ranging from 81-84 mph with a few curveballs mixed in to keep hitters guessing. Larrimore struck out 15 batters on the game.

The Dawg Pound 18u also had a good starter today. Jose Lopez (2013, Arlington Country Day, FL) pitched 4 innings giving up only two hits and no earned runs. Pitchers Anthony Delaney (2013, Summit Christian, FL) and Jaxon Schfield (Summit Christian, FL) both pitched 2 innings giving up no hits and combining for 6 strikeouts. Both threw strikes and attacked hitters throwing over 75% of their pitches for strikes. Delaney, the starter, had a smooth delivery with good command using mainly his fastball which ranged from 80-84 mph. Schfield competed well on the mound and used his lower half well to attack hitters. Schfield had 5 strikeouts and his fastball velocity was between 78-81 mph. Both pitchers also did well at the plate going a combined 2-3 and scoring two runs.

JJ Fribourg (2013, Bolles, FL) pitched the full seven innings.  He gave up one run and struck out three.  His fastball ranged in the high 70's and topped out at 82 mph.

Dylan Allen (2013, George Jenkins, FL) also pitched in by going a perfect 1 for 1 with a walk. Kuehl McEarchern (2011, Eustis, FL) started for the Chets and pitched 5 innings while striking out six.  He only allowed one hit and didn't walk anyone.  His pitches were around the strike zone 70% of the time. Kuehl's fastball averaged in the mid 80's and topped off at 87 mph. Dylan Barrow (2011, Durant, FL) closed the game by throwing two innings and striking out three.  His fastball ranged between 84-87 mph and topped off at 91.

Danny Rodriquez (2013, Steinbrenner, FL) pitched six innings for the Gators and struck out five.  His fastball topped out at 82 mph. Marcus Begg (2013, Steinbrenner, FL) went 1 for 3 with and RBI in the top of the seventh.

Upstate Maverick's 18U hitters came up clutch in the bottom of the 7th inning to beat the Next Level Scorpions 17U 4-3 in seven innings on Saturday at five-Plex-Former Red Sox Spring Training Site, Field two. RHP John Robert Rodgers (2013, White Knoll HS, Lexington, SC) pitched 4 scoreless innings in relief. Rodgers showed good command with a good follow through to give up 2 hits and strike out 4 in the process. Rodgers' fastball averaged 82-85 mph and peaked at 87 mph. Rodgers was able to keep his fastball down and he used the lower half of the strike zone nicely with his change-up and curve ball as well. Scorpions' LHP Tim Wood (2013, Ocoee HS, Ocoee, FL) is a crafty lefty that pitched 4 innings in Saturday's game. Wood gave up 5 hits on 3 runs and 1 BB. Wood had armside run on his fastball. Wood used his curveball and change-up to keep hitters off-balance.

Upstate Mavericks' Teft Hill (2012, Cypress Lake HS, Ft. Meyers, FL) used his gap power to hit a triple while going 3-for-4 on the day with a run scored. Hill showed he drives the ball with regular contact. Kevin Brantley (2012, Wekiva HS, Apopka, FL) had a solid day at the plate while going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Brantley was impressive defensively with his quick, smooth transfer and his accurate arm. RHP Chip Capper (2013, Westminster HS, Atlanta, GA) used his loose arm action and good follow through to start the game pitching. Capper pitched 3 innings and gave up 2 hits 3 runs, 2 of which were earned, and 2 BB's. Capper had good command on his fastball which averaged 82-85 mph and topped out at 87 mph. Capper changed speeds with a mid-70's slider and a low-70's curveball.

Next Level Scorpions' Cody Burgess (2013, West Orange HS, Winter Garden, FL) showed patience at the plate while going 1-for-3 with a run scored. Burgess stayed hot from the Scorpions' victory Friday 3-2 over the Central Florida Green Jackets. Burgess went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Friday's game. Steven Ramos (2013, Deltona HS, Alamonte Springs, FL) is an aggressive hitter with a live bat that went 1-for-2 with a run scored and 1 BB.

Florida Burn 17U scored 5 runs in the first two innings which proved to be more than enough for pitchers Josh Grubbs (2013, Venice HS, Nokomis, FL) and Matthew Piatt (2013, Calvary Christian HS, Largo, FL) in their 6-1 win over Florida Xtreme 2013.  Grubbs showed good control and competed well during his 4 innings of 3 hit, shutout baseball with 4 strikeouts hitting 83 MPH on his fastball.  Piatt then pitched the final 2 innings in relief allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run with 3 strikeouts while attacking hitters and competing well showing a good curveball, changeup, fastball combination that reached 84 MPH on the radar gun.

Andrew Ferrell (2012, Spanish Fort, AL) led the Pirates with two hits and an RBI.  Cory Eller (2012, Niceville, FL) started for the Pirates and went 4 1/3 innings.  He struck out three and allowed only two earned runs.  His fastball topped out at 84 mph. Jacob Terry (2012, Navarre, FL) pitched an innings and struck out three.  His fastball topped off at 82 mph. 

Gabriel Delarosa (2013, Hialeah Gardens, FL) smacked a two-run homerun in the top of the 3rd.  Delarosa also had all three RBIs.  Carlo Ugalde went 2 for 3 for Florida. Christian Reyes pitched the last three innings, struck out four and only gave up two hits.  His fastball averaged in the mid 80s and topped off at 87 mph.

Hardcore Baseball Black 18U won 4-0 over Florida Burn 18U in seven innings on Saturday at Charlotte Co (Rays) Complex, Field four. An impressive pitching performance by RHP Jorge Lara (2013, Braddock HS, Miami, FL) helped lead the way for Hardcore's victory. Lara's overtop arm angle helped him pitch a complete, 7 inning, game. Lara gave up 3 hits on 0 runs, 3 BB's, while striking out 4. Lara had armside run on his fastball that had sinking action, his fastball averaged 76-80 mph. Lara was able to use his curveball and change-up to keep hitters off balance.

Hardcore Baseball's Tyler Selesky (2012, Estero HS, Estero, FL) was able to go 2-for-3 with 1 RBI. Once Selesky was on base he was running all over the place, Selesky collected 4 stolen bases. Selesky has the ability to run and is a very solid runner. Alex Marquez (2012, Miami Coral Park HS, Miami, FL) is a scrappy player that went 2-for-2 with 1 double, 2 RBI's and 1 run scored. Marquez has a sound hitting approach with a slightly open stance.

Florida Burn's Jordan Savion's (2011, Dunedin HS, Clearwater, FL) good bat speed was present in the game as he went 2-for-3 with a triple. Savinon carried his patient hitting approach over from the 8-0 win against the Ocala Heat 18U, where he drove in 2 runs. Savinon also showed good baserunning skills as he stole 1 base.

Kevin Vega (2012, Ocoee, FL) also had a hit bringing in 1 run, and he was quick on the bases stealing 2 on the day. 

Though the Florida Hardballers didn't pull it out 134th ranked Jordan Parnell (2013, Jesuit HS, FL) pitched a good 4 innings with his fastball averaging 83mph. His curveballs were in the upper 60's. Brooks Morgan (2013, Buchholz HS, FL) had a solid triple which drove in the 2 runs for the Hardballers. Louisville commit Tucker Neuhaus (2013,Tampa Wharton HS, FL) ranked 304th had a hit and scored 1 run.

Carson Wells (2013, Navarre, FL) set up the game winning run by getting a one out double. Wells was 2-3 with a walk and scored 2 runs. 

Michael Flaherty (2013, Dr. Phillips, FL) was the starter for the Orlando Scorpions 17u Black and he pitched 3 scoreless innings allowing only 2 hits and struck out 5. He showed a balanced online delivery throwing mainly fastballs ranging in velocity between 81-84 mph.

Top prospects Troy Strominger (2013, East Lake, FL) and Bobby Bassler (2013, Middleburg, FL) played well today going a combined 3-6 with 3 RBI's. Strominger showed good bat speed along with a live bat contributing to a 2 RBI double on the day. Bassler had a confident sound approach at the plate and he also had a double in the game..

Team IMPACT 18U starting pitcher Joe Rivera (2013, Palmetto Ridge HS, Naples, FL) tossed a complete game to lead his team to a 12-1 win over Tampa Bay Warriors 18U.  Rivera showed good control in allowing just 4 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 6 and walking 3.  His fastball reached 86 MPH on the radar gun.  

At the plate, top prospect 3B Leo Rill (2012, Naples HS, Naples, FL) led the way going 2 for 3 with a double, 2 RBIs, and 3 runs scored while displaying good bat speed and power potential.  Rill also received high marks for his defensive effort showing a good first step and proving he can make all the plays at 3B.  Top prospect and Indian River State College recruit Brendan Long (2012, Barron Collier HS, Naples, FL) also went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs while displaying good bat speed, a sound hitting approach, and gap power. 2B Austin Langham (2013, Barron Collier HS, Naples, FL) went 3 for 3 with an RBI and 3 runs scored.  C Nick Ott (2012, Community School of Naples, Naples, FL) contributed a double and a pair of runs scored.  Luke Caple (2013, Gulf Coast HS, Naples, FL) rounded out the 12-hit attack going 2 for 5 with a double and 5 RBIs.  

Top prospect and Broward CC recruit Jeffrey Ortiz (Seacrest Country Day School, Naples, FL) showed good life on his fastball that hit 87 MPH and a good curveball in his 1 inning of 3 hit relief allowing 4 unearned runs and striking out 3.  Chris Toni (2012, Brandon HS, Brandon, FL) contributed 2 innings of 2 hit, scoreless relief issuing no walks while striking out 3.  Toni displayed a solid arm action with a smooth delivery and a sinking fastball that hit 84 MPH.

David Koos (2012, Wellington, FL) and Zach Gerboc (2013, Wellington FL) pitched a one hitter for the West Palm Beach Post 12.  Koos went 5 2/3 innings, struck out four and walked one in the 6-0 win against South Florida Lightning. His fastball ranged in the low 80's and topped off at 84 mph. He was around the plate 64% of the time. Gerboc came in to finish the last hitter off.  Jacob Aqua (2013, Wellington, FL) went 1 for 2 with two RBI's, a walk and a stolen base.

Nolan Mullen (2013, Martin County, FL) pitched 5 scoreless innings and got the win for Florida Burn 18u. Mullen allowed only two hits and struck out 7. He worked fast, had a smooth online delivery, and effectively pitched inside on hitters. Mullen had a good fastball today ranging from 77-82 mph and had a good 11/5 or 1/7 breaking curveball, which he used to keep hitters off balance at the plate. Mullen also went 2-3 at the plate driving in 2 big runs.

Jordan Savinon (2011, Dunedin, FL) played well today going 1-3 and staying patient at the plate drawing one walk. Savinon the St. Petersburg College recruit showed he is a polished hitter and had good leverage allowing him to drive in 2 runs for the Burn.

Kevin Guthrie (2012, Venice, FL) the Brown recruit went 2-4 with a RBI double. Guthrie also pitched 2 innings in relief giving up no hits and striking out 2 batters. Guthrie showed good hip rotation helping him to throw between 82-86 mph with his fastball. 



Scorpions Pitchers Key to 3-1 Victory >>
The Orlando Scorpions 17u White pitchers Brooks Calvo (2013, Nease, FL) and Tyler Banniza (2013, Auburndale, FL) held the Orlando Nightmares to only one run in their victory. Calvo started the game and made it look easy on the mound. Calvo pitched 4 scoreless innings allowing only 3 hits and struck out 4. Calvo relied upon his fastball which ranged from 82-86 mph. Banniza relieved Calvo in the 5th inning and he allowed only one run off of 4 hits and struck out one. 

Miguel Egea (2013, Lake Nona, FL) was the star at the plate driving in two big runs for the Scorpions. His 2 RBI double in the bottom of the 5th stretched their lead to 3. He also showed he could run well stealing one base in the game.

Christopher Vazquez (2014, Freedom, FL) and Alex Miret (2014, Freedom, FL) were great at the plate for the Orlando Nightmares. Both went 2-2 and both drew one walk. Vazquez had two doubles and Miret drove in the lone run for the Nightmare with an RBI double.

Pitching proved to be the story as CFBL Elite 17U and FTB Chandler 17U got strong performances from 5 total pitchers in 2-2 tie.  FTB Chandler starter and Stanford recruit Brett Hanewich (2013, IMG Academies, Bradenton, FL) displayed both a balanced delivery and a live fastball that hit 91 MPH in 4 perfect innings with 9 strikeouts.  Top prospect Gage Hutchinson (2013, Deland HS, Deland, FL) came on in relief showing a smooth and balanced delivery in pitching 3 innings of 2 hit baseball surrendering a pair of unearned runs while walking 1 and striking out 3.  

For CFLB Elite, starter Nick Knarr (2013, Lake Brantley HS, Longwood, FL) pitched 3 innings of 2 hit baseball allowing 0 runs with 3 strikeouts while showing an 86 MPH fastball.  Top prospect Brandon Gracey (2013, West Orange HS, Windermere, FL) then came on and also pitched 3 innings of 2 hit baseball allowing 1 unearned run with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks.  Gracey showed a good curveball and a fastball that topped out at 90 MPH. Pitchers Anthony Delaney (2013, Summit Christian, FL) and Jaxon Schfield (Summit Christian, FL) both pitched 2 innings giving up no hits and combining for 6 strikeouts. Both threw strikes and attacked hitters throwing over 75% of their pitches for strikes. Delaney, the starter, had a smooth delivery with good command using mainly his fastball which ranged from 80-84 mph. Schfield competed well on the mound and used his lower half well to attack hitters. Schfield had 5 strikeouts and his fastball velocity was between 78-81 mph. Both pitchers also did well at the plate going a combined 2-3 and scoring two runs.

Kristian Romance (2011, Centennial HS, Port St. Lucie, FL) used his 3/4 arm angle to pitch a complete, 5 inning, game. Romance allowed 5 hits, 7 runs, 3 of which were earned, 4 walks, and struck out 2 in his outing. Romance's fastball averaged 80-85 mph and peaked at 87 mph. Romance had a good feel for his 11/5 curveball which had an average speed in the low 70's.

Natural's Bobby Dodd (2013, Port St. Lucie HS, Port St. Lucie, FL) used his patience at the plate to go 2-for-3 with 3 runs scored, 1 RBI, and 1 BB. James Deacitis (2012, Centennial HS, Port St. Lucie HS, Port St, Lucie, FL) is a patient hitter that went 2-for-3 on the day. Deacitis remained hot at the plate after following his 2-for-3 performance in Friday's tie with the North Florida Storm 18U.

Miami Suns' Jonathan Flores' (2013, Pine Charter HS, Miramar, FL) quick bat helped him go 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI's. Flores was impressive defensively with his ability to get in good position to throw and smooth transfer. Brandon Valdes' (2012, American HS, Miami, FL) good eye led him to go 1-for-2 with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Valdes showed his patience and he has the potential to be a power hitter.

CBC River Hawks 17U got solid pitching performances from Joseph Vermilya (2013, Providence HS, Jacksonville, FL) and Cameron Williams (2013, Ponte Vedra HS, Ponte Vedra, FL) and plenty of run support en route to a 10-2 win over GCT Storm.  Vermilya pitched the first 3 innings showing good mound presence and a willingness to compete in allowing just 3 hits and 1 earned run with 3 strikeouts.  Williams then came on and used his deceptive delivery to keep opposing hitters off balance during 3 strong innings of scoreless relief surrendering just 4 hits with 1 strikeout and no walks.

At the plate, Connor Michalski (2014, Creekside HS, St. Johns, FL) led the way going 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a pair of runs scored.  Christian Hicks (2014, Bolles School, St. Augustine, FL) knocked a pair of base hits and scored twice.  Top prospect Ryan Teifer (2013, Ponte Vedra HS, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) added an RBI triple and finished with 3 RBI for the game showing strong mechanics with a sound hitting approach and power to all fields.  

Brad Miller (2013, Indian Rocks Christian HS, Clearwater, FL) led the way for GCT Storm going 2 for 3 with an RBI double.  Jacob Moroff (2012, Clearwater HS, Palm Harbor, FL) finished 2 for 2 with a double.

SWFL Baseball 17U beat Orlando Baseball Academy 2013 5-1 on Saturday behind a strong pitching performance from Dustin Hagy (2013, Deltona Trinity, FL). Hagy threw 82-87 mph with easy, loose arm action, striking out 6 in 4 IP.

Shawn Feltner (2014, Apopka HS, FL) threw 78-83 mph with a smooth, deceptive delivery for Orlando Baseball Academy 2013. He also mixed in two secondary pitches, low-70s curve and a change-up—both plus pitches. Feltner showed good command of his mid-70s change-up, using it as his out-pitch. He allowed 1 hit and struck out 6 in 4 innings.

Hitmen Baseball was only able to get 1 hit in seven innings at Cypress Lake High School, on Saturday, but that was enough to get the 6-4 victory over Score International 18U. RHP Kyle Kadlub (2013, Bishop Kenny HS, Jacksonville, FL) with his overtop arm angle, pitched a complete, 7 inning, game. Kadlub allowed 5 hits, 4 runs, 2 of which were earned, 3 walks and he recorded 7 strike outs. Kadlub had armside run on his fastball and his 10/4 curveball and change-up kept the Score's hitters off-balanced.

Hitmen Baseball's Henry Edwards (2014, Bolles HS, Ponte Vedra, FL) had a good day at the plate by getting the sole hit for the Hitmen. Edwards went 1-for-3 with 1 RBI. Ethan Crout (2014, Fletcher HS, Neptune Beach, FL) was able to reach base twice, which led to him scoring 2 runs and gaining 2 RBI's without getting a hit. 

Score International's RHP Jordan Doyle (2012, Sickles HS, Seminole, FL) was very dominant in relief. Doyle pitched 4 scoreless innings, while not allowing a single run or hit. Doyle effectively pitched inside and used his heavy fastball to strike out 5. Doyle's fastball averaged 82-86 mph and peaked at 87 mph. Along with his loose arm action, Doyle was able to mix in a late breaking slider and a good change-up to help him pitch effectively.

Cody Smith (2012, Plant City HS, Plant City, FL) showed patience at the plate while going 1-for-2 with an RBI, 1 run scored, and a BB. In the field, Smith showed quick feet and an accurate arm, he is also a solid runner. Brycen Gladbach (2012, Bloomingdale HS, Valrico, FL) with his sound hitting approach went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Orlando Scorpions 17U Purple win low-scoring affair 1-0 over Dawg Pound 18U.  Orlando scored early in the top of the 2nd inning which was all they needed for the victory.

Despite going 1-3 in the game, MT Minacci (2013, North Florida Christian, Tallahassee, FL) the Florida State commit, got the only run scored in the game.  The top 300 nationally ranked player for the Orlando Scorpions 17U Purple showed a quick bat and sound hitting approach at the plate.

Scott Moss (2013, Deland HS, Deltona, FL) LHP for the Orlando Scorpions went 3 strong innings allowing no hits and striking out 6. The 6'6" top prospect had good command, a smooth delivery, and was consistent between 81-86mph. Scott's teammate, Brett Morales, went two innings allowing 1 hit and recording 4 strikeouts. Morales showed a balanced delivery and good command on his fastball.  Brett was consistent between 88-92 mph with his fastball.

Jonas Gonzalez (2013, Odessa, FL) went 5 innings for the Dawg Pound 18U allowing 6 hits and one earned run.  Gonzalez struck out 3 batters in the loss.

At the Charlotte County Complex today the Fajardo Cariduros(Puerto Rico) needed a walk off single to break the 2-2 tie in the bottom ofthe 6th inning for a 3-2 victory over the Florida Burn (17U). JoelAlmonte (2012, Coninental Academy, PR) lead off the bottom of the 6thwith a single and then advanced to second on a sacrifice by Kenneth Rodriguez(2012, University, PR) after reaching 3rd on a wild pitch RobertMateo (2012, University, PR) drove in pinch runner Abraham Lanzo (Fajardo, PR)with the game winning run. For the Cariduros Jean Avila (Fajardo, PR) was 1-3 witha triple and a run scored.

For the Burn catcher Grant Hodges (2013, East Lake HS, FL)was 2-2 at the plate with a solo home run. Hodges displayed a quick bat andpower potential while showing he can be a middle of the order run producer.

Central Florida Green Jackets' 9-3 victory over the Tampa Suns was highlighted by 2014 Tyler Walls' (Palm Coast, FL, Matanzas HS) home run in the top of the 6th inning. Walls went 1-3 with 1 RBI an had a very confident approach. 2014 Ty Turner (Deltona, FL, Pine Ridge HS) went 2-4 with 2 RBI's. 

2013 Jonathan Killon (Deltona, FL, University HS) pitched 4 innings for the Green Jackets and recorded 4 strikeouts. He stayed consistent with his fastball between 75-80mph while peaking at 83. 

2013 Dominic Sicardo (Tampa, FL, Carrolwood Day HS) went 1-3 with 1 RBI and a triple for the Suns and 2013 Vince Gleason (Wayne, NJ, Wayne Valley HS) went 3-3 with an RBI.
