Golden Spikes 17u RHP Jonathon Olczak (2012, Wesleyan Christian, Greensboro, NC) was up to 92 mph in Golden Spikes 7-5 win over Mid-Atlantic Canes. Olczak is a strong, athletic righty who projects well and shows outstanding arm speed and quick, loose arm action. His 12/6 curveball was at 71 with good feel and late break, and his 80 mph changeup flashed potential.

Marucci Elite came into the 17u WWBA National Championship as the top ranked team in the country, they have struggled to win but have showcased some of the top arms in the Southeast region in the process. Today, in their 5-4 loss to Suncoast Reebok, LHP Zach Irwin (2012, Madison Central HS, Madison, MS) topped out at 89 and has a strong, workhorse build. RHP Myles Gentry (2012, Gulfport, MS HS) was up to 91 with easy arm action, and RHP Zach Bird (2012, Murrah HS, Jackson, MS) a very loose arm and velo up to 91, and RHP Harrison Spruiell (2012, Byrd HS, Shreveport, LA) topped at 89.
SS Andrew Velasquez (2012, Fordham Prep, Bronx, NY) was a standout for the Marucci offense with a quick bat, excellent foot speed and quick, smooth actions on the infield.

IN Prospects Blue RHP Nick Jordan (2011, Harrison HS, Evansville, IN) topped out at 86 over his 5 innings of work as the Prospects dropped an 7-5 contest to Orlando Scorpions Underclass Purple. Jordan pitched on a good downhill plane and repeated his arm action on a 75 mph curveball and 78 mph changeup.
Scorpions Underclass RHP Gunnar McNeill (2013, West Orange HS, Gotha, FL) also topped at 86, complimenting it with a 74 mph curveball and RHP Robbie Barrett (2013, Dr. Phillips HS, Orlando, FL) was up to 84.

The Louisiana All-Stars beat the Best 9 White Sox 9-6 as LHP Jared West (2012, North DeSoto HS, Shreveport, LA) topped at 86 for the All-Stars and RHP Trey McAvoy (2012, South Aiken HS, Aiken, SC) was 86 for the White Sox.

RHP Dakota Shadoan (2012, Norman North, Norman, OK) topped out at 86 as Action Baseball 17u White beat Spartanburg Phillies 4-1. Shadoan also threw a 73 mph curveball and flashed a 73 mph changeup. Reliever RHP Dustin Beasley (2012, Stoney Point HS, Round Rock HS) topped out at 82 in the two innings of relief.
OF Steven Duggar (2012, Byrnes HS, Moore, SC) was the offensive star for Spartanburg and is one of the better hitters in the state. He went 3-3 with simple mechanics and a left handed swing that produces consistent hard live drives.

Lucas Giolito (2012 Harvard-Westlake HS, Santa Monica, CA) took the hill for the SGV Arsenal for the second time this week, and though he wasn't quite as sharp as usual, he was still effective and a lot of fun to watch. The scouts that ventured away from the playoff action at the East Cobb Complex were treated to Giolito's mid 90s heat (up to 96) and his hammer low 80s curve thrown from a very sharp downhill angle. Giolito went 3 innings, allowing 3 Runs (1 ER) on 3 hits with 4 walks but did strike out 7.
The #2 ranked player in the class of 2012 was on the hook for the loss bbefore a 5-run 7th inning brought the Arsenal back for an 8-6 win over Team Elite 17u White.
Peter Van Gansen (2012 Alameny HS, San Fernando, CA) earned the Win with two perfect inniings of relief. Van Gansen struck out three, throwing 88.2% of his pitches for strikes. Round Trip Baseball's Byron Buxton (2012, Appling County HS, Baxley, GA) was the talk of the 18u WWBA with his athleticism, speed and power arm. He touched 94 on PGs gun and 96 on other scouts' guns during one of his pitching appearances. He topped at 89 and threw a curveball at 75. He went 2-3 with 2 RBI at the plate, showcasing the quick bat and game breaking speed that make him a top prospect.

Michael Church (2012, RHP, Lake Braddock HS, Burke, VA) sat at 87-88mph on his fastball while touching 89mph, Church's curveball was up to 70mph, with his slider topping out at 76mph, and a changeup topping out at 78mph. He has an arm that works well, has armside run on his fastball with some sink to it, good command of his 12-6 curveball, good command of his slider and uses a high 3/4 arm angle.

A 4-run rally in the top of the 6th gave So Cal Elite a 4-2 in over the WY Clippers Wednesday afternoon. RHP Justen Heuermann (2012, Oak Ridge HS, Spring, TX) topped out at 86, also throwing a 77 mph curveball and 79 mph changeup.
WY Clippers OF Connor McMorrow-Kwalwasser (2012, Highland Mills, NY HS) has lead the Clippers with his bat all week and again showed a short, compact swing and very good bat control. 3B Dan Crowe (Dobbs Ferry, NY HS) showed a quick bat and a sound aggressive hitting approach at the plate.

C Riley Kilgore (2013, Christian Brothers, Germantown, TN) showed very good blocking skills and is a player to watch for one of the best teams in the state of Tennessee.
Midsouth Select RHP Alex Graham (2012, Broken Arrow, OK HS) topped out at 86, and will be one of the arms Broken Arrow counts on in their Oklahoma 6A title defense after losing RHPs Archie Bradley, Mason Hope, and Nick Pettus.

14 Lakes Area Dodgers batters came to the plate in a ten run first as they rolled over Team TPX by a 13-1 count. LHP Brandon Willard (2012, Orchard Lake, Sylvan Lake, MI) threw all four innings, allowing just one run on one hit. The Dodgers pounded out 11 hits on the day and were aided by 5 Team TPX errors.

RHP David Denson (2013, Bishop Amat HS, LaPuente, CA) is a big strong hurler who threw a complete game in ABD Bulldogs Underclass 9-3 win over the East Cobb Renegades. He topped out at 85 and threw a 73 mph curveball. 3B Nick Costello (2013, Claremont, CA HS) was one of the best hitter at last year's PG/Evoshield Underclass Championship in Arizona. He homered and drove in a pair of runs to pace the offense. He has a short, strong swing and big power potential.

Upstate Mavericks 17u Orange ended pool play with an exciting 11-10 win over Team Georgia 16u. Upstate put up seven runs in the 4th and then single tallies in the next three innings. 3B Jordan Spivey (2012, Boling Springs, SC HS) hit a solo home run and OF Morgan Howard (2013, Riverside HS, Greer, SC) had a huge day, going 3-3 with a homer and 5 runs driven in.

Mid-Atlantic Red Sox RHP Jacob Williams (2012, Sussex Tech, Greenwood, DE) and RHP Arnold Capute (2012, Friends School of Baltimore, Baltimore, MD) both topped out at 87 in the Red Sox 8-6 loss to the Cincinnati Spikes. Williams showed short, quick arm action an deception and a frisbee slider at 75. Capute showed solid arm action and good extension with balanced delivery, also throwing a 72 mph curveball.
Spikes John Tanner (2012, Moeller HS, Cincinnati, OH) homered and drove in two runs. He showed bat speed, strength and power to all fields.

The Braves were down 9-4 coming into the top of the 6 inning with things starting to look bleak the Braves starts to chip away at the lead. The first 3 batters got on for Jordan Ebert (2012, MIF, Baldwin County HS, Foley, AL) who got his first hit of the game with a Grand Slam. Ebert ended the game 1-3 with 1 run scored, 1 Home Run, and 4RBI'S. Ebert has an athletic build, with decent bat speed, raw power and makes regular contact with the ball. That set the stages for Wes Burns (2011, 3B, Lassiter HS, Marietta, GA) who came up with one on and none out and drilled a 1-2 pitch over the right centerfield fence to give the Braves a 10-9 lead. Burns has a strong lower half, with raw power.

The Tampa Bay Warrios started their summer with a championship at the 18u Memorial Day Classic in Fort Myers and moved to 3-2 at the 17u WWBA with an easy 12-0 win over the East Cobb Yankees 16u. RHP Cam Hokanson (2012, River Ridge HS, New Port Richey, FL) topped out at 88 in his inning of relief. He threw downhill with some deception and also showed a 74 mph curveball with potential.
RHP Walker Lockett (2012, Providence HS, Jacksonville, FL) is a big, strong pitcher who topped out at 88 and showed a slider at 75 and a changeup at 77. RHP Jeffrey Ortiz (2012, Seacrest Country Day School, Naples, FL) topped at 85, pitching the game's final frame.

The NJ Twins posted a 4-2 win over the DCH Georgia Jayhawks in their final pool play game. LHP Aaron Smith (2012, Governon Livingston, Berkely Heights, NJ) threw four shutout innings allowing three hits while striking out four. MIF Brett Matzen (2012, Ridge HS, Basking Ridge, NJ) showed a short, compact swing and stayed inside the ball well and C Mike Roethke (2012, Immaculata HS, Flemington, NJ) showed athleticism and good extension on a fluid swing that produced hard line drive contact.
DCH Dondrei Hubbard (2012, Creekview HS, Canton, GA) is a solid athlete who has stood out this week for the Jayhawks. He picked up a pair of hits Wednesday and has raw power potential and drives the ball with an easy swing with extension and lift. 2B Graham Bunting (2012, West Forsyth HS, Cumming, GA) is an athlete with a quick bat and sound hitting approach and is a hitter to watch over the next year.

FTB ran out to a 6-0 lead after two innings and behind another big day from OF Jesse Winker (2012, Olympia HS, Winderemere, FL) moved on to the final four of the 17u WWBA with a 9-2 win over the East Cobb Astros 16u. Winker, doubled, homered and drove in three runs and has put himself among the list of top hitters in the class with superb performances at PG National, Tournament of Stars, and now the 17u WWBA. C Chris Okey (2013, Eustis HS, Mt. Dora, FL) also homered and is one of the top all-around catchers in the 2013 class. RHP Seth McGarry (2012, Lakewood Ranch, FL HS) topped out at 88 over his four innings and LHP Thomas Woodrey (2012, Cardinal Gibbons, Lighthouse Point, FL) topped out at 85 in his three innings of relief.

East Cobb Astros RHP Duane Underwood (2012, Pope HS, Marietta, GA) has shown great athleticism in the outfield and at the plate and speed on the bases, but it is his arm strength that makes him one of the top prospects in the country. Today, pitching in relief in the EC Astros 16u playoff game against South Florida Elite Squad Black he topped out at 96 on the PG radar gun, and was up to 97 on another behind the plate. He sat 93-94 and also showed a hard breaking ball at 73.
Elite Squad had a number of hard throwing pitchers in the game led by RHP Alex Lavandero (2012, Belen Jesuit, Miami, FL), who topped out at 92. RHP Kevin Louis-Perez (2012, Miramar, FL HS) was up to 91, RHP Domenick Mancini (2012, Cypress Bay, Weston, FL) was up to 88, and RHP Nick Travieso (2012, Archbishop McCarthy HS, Pembroke Pines, FL) was up to 94.

Alan Archer (2013, OF, West Orange HS, Winter Garden, FL) was 1-3 in the game with his only hit coming in the bottom of the 8th giving the Scorpions 17U Black team a 2-1 hard fought victory over Utah Baseball Academy. RHP Keenan Innis (2013, Blessed Trinity HS, Cumming, GA) threw 6 1/3 innings topping out at 84 and RHP Jackson Smith (2013, Hartselle, IN HS) topped out at 87, pitching the last 1/3 of the game.
Patriots National 17U RHP Michael Taylor (2012, Christ Church School, Urbanna, VA) was very impressive topping out at 94 in his 5 2/3 innings of relief. He showed a smooth, easy delivery with good arm action and feel for a 74 mph curveball and 84 mph changeup.
RHP Taylor Knicely (2012, Lee HS, Staunton, VA) started the game and topped out at 89, showing a 75 mph curveball with good depth and a straight CH at 83.

FTB Mizuno pounded out 15 hits en route to their 10-3 win over Homeplate Chilidogs. OF Jesse Winker (2012, Olympia HS, Windermere, FL) has been locked in all summer and continued it this week. Thursday, he homered and drove in a pair of runs showing big time bat speed with bat raw power and lift in his swing. Nick Rivera (2012, Bishop Verot HS, Cape Coral, FL) also homered and drove in four runs while Jesmuel Valentin-Diaz (2012, Puerto Rico Baseball Academy, Manati, PR) has stood out with his smooth swing from both sides of the plate, showing quick, strong wrists and lots of batspeed.
RHP Robert Whalen (2012, Haines City HS, Davenport, FL) topped out at 91 in his innings of work, with a good curveball at 75 and RHP Colyn O'Connell (2012, Dunedin, FL HS) topped out at 86 in his inning of work.

The East Cobb Braves defeated the top seeded Orlando Scorpions Purple and their All American RHP Walker Weickel 6-3 Thursday afternoon to advance to the tournament quarterfinals.
The hard throwing Weickel, who threw a shutout earlier in the tournament while topping out at 94 mph, was uncharacteristically wild as the Braves scored three runs off him in the first inning and knocked him out of the game. Weickel threw 40 pitches to get 2 outs, only 21 of those strikes, and forced in 2 runs with a hit by pitch and walk before being lifted.
IF/RHP Chase Moody (2012, Spalding County HS, GA) continued his outstanding tournament and has himself on the short list for MVP consideration should the Braves win another game. He had a first inning single off Weickel to drive in a run and later hit a 2-run home run while going 3-4 with 3 Rbi's. Moody is now 12-22 (.545) on the week with 6 extra base hits and 8 Rbi's.
OF Kyle Carter (2012, Columbus HS, GA) went 2-4 with 2 doubles and 2 Rbi's to support Moody. All American CF Skye Bolt (2012, Holy Innocents HS, GA, verbal to UNC) also had 2 hits and scored a run for the Braves.

PBC PAL took advantage of Houston Banditos errors in the bottom of the 5th and 6th innings to overcome an early 7-0 deficit and advance to the quarterfinals with a tension packed 10-9 win.
The Banditos scored 7 runs in the top of the first inning but PAL slowly inched back into the game. With the time limit already reached, PAL scored three runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to tie the game, the third run scoring on an outfield error. After the Banditos were retired without scoring in the first frame of the extra innings format, a 2-out infield error enabled PAL to score the winning run in the bottom of the inning.
RHP/IF Jake Jarvis (2014, Klein Collins HS, TX) was the hard luck losing pitcher for the Banditos but impressed with his arm strength for a young pitcher, topping out at 90 mph and showing good composure on the mound. He also went 2-4 during the game and will present scouts an interesting player vs. pitcher puzzle as he continues to develop as a prospect.
OF/RHP Jordan Brinson (2011, Palm Beach Central HS, FL) got the win in relief for PAL and warrants mention as well. Brinson pitched at 88-90 with his fastball and is a athletic 6-2, 190 lb right hander who also runs a 6.8 60 and has some bat speed. He has not committed to school this fall according to the PG database.

OF D.J. Stewart (2012, The Bolles School, FL, verbal to Florida State) clinched FTB's 6-0 win over Kentucky Baseball Club and a trip to the quarterfinals with a dramatic grand slam in the 7th inning.
FTB had already scored one insurance run in the top of the 7th when Steward stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and KBC brought in hard throwing 2013 Clinton Hollon (2013, Woodruff County HS, verbal to Kentucky) out of the bullpen. Stewart fell behind 0-2 to Hollom, who was throwing 94-96 mph, before hitting a scorching line drive over the right field fence.
The blast was Stewart's first home run of the week, although he's hitting .400 (8-20) with 10 runs scored.
FTB RHP Brad Labozetta (2012, Lakeland HS, verbal to Florida Gulf Coast) and KBC LHP Ryne Combs (2012, Bryan Station HS, Louisville) had engaged in a classic pitching dual prior to that, as Labozzeta threw 5 shutout innings, striking out 10 hitters on a mix of 86-90 mph fastballs and big breaking upper 60's curveballs, while Combs had only allowed a 4th inning run while pitching into the 7th. Combs topped out at 87 mph with a hard mid 70's slurve before tiring in the 7th.

Silva showed good command and loose arm action and a curveball at 78 and changeup at 81. PBC PAL C Taylor Gushue (2012, Calvary Christian HS, Boca Raton, FL) is one of the best all-around backstops in the country and homered in the game to lead the offense.

Kit Scheetz (2012, LHP, James River HS, Midlothian, VA) threw a complete game shutout to help the Virginia Cardinals advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Scheetz has good command, effectively pitches inside, an arm that works well, and throws easy. Scheetz competes on the mound, has a good mound presence, keeps hitters off balance, and hides the ball well. Scheetz has armside run on his fastball, with life on his fastball, a good curveball and uses a high 3/4 arm angle. The 36th seeded Chattanooga Cyclones road the pitching of RHP Bobby Towne (2012, Walker Valley, TN) to a upset victory over #5 seed Top Tier Thursday morning in round 2 of the playoffs.
Towne threw a complete game shutout, allowing 6 hits without walking a hitter and striking out 4. He was hardly overpowering, pitching in the upper 70's, but threw 38 curveballs among his 102 pitches and was able to keep the Top Tier hitters guessing and off balance. It was Towne's second complete game 7 inning shutout of the tournament, as he also throttled the New Jersey Marlins on Sunday.
C B.J. Binder (2012, Ooltewah HS, TN) continued to lead the Cyclones offense, going 2-3 with the game's only Rbi. Binder is now 9-19 on the week with 9 Rbi's.

The Scorpions Black scored in each of the first four innings as they beat Diamond-Simcox 9-2. Scorps starter LHP Daniel Moritz (2012, Deltona, FL HS) is a big, long lefty who projects and topped at 84 on the day. He showed a heavy FB, curveball at 71 and change at 72. RHP Zach Stewart (2012, Lake Brantley HS, Altamonte Springs, FL) is a projectable arm with clean, easy arm action and topped out at 85. C Chris Biocic (2012, Merritt Island, FL HS) showed very good catch and throw skills and strength behind the plate.

The Orlando Scorpions Black needed 9 innings to join their organizational mates, the top seeded Orlando Scorpions Purple, in round 3 of the playoffs but prevailed over Rookies Baseball 6-3 on Thursday morning.
Reliever RHP Matt Robinson (2012, Winter Park HS, FL) was outstanding for the Scorpions, throwing a scoreless 7th inning and then twice retiring the Rookies in the bases loaded/1 out extra innings format. Robinson retired 7 straight hitters, 3 by strikeout and was topping out at 91 mph on his fastball.
RHP Joseph Starling (2013, Bartow HS, FL) threw the first 6 innings for the Scorpions and showed his prospect stuff, relying almost exclusively on a 88-90 mph fastball to keep the Rookies under control.
OF George Kalogridis (2012, West Orange HS, FL) scored the first Scorpions run in the 9th inning with a walk and was 1-2 with 2 walks and 2 Rbi's on the day. OF Taylor Perez (2012, Winter Springs HS, FL) followed with a 2-run double to give the Scorpions and Robinson a couple of insurance runs.

Angels White RHP Scott Hoffman (2011, Desert Ridge HS, Mesa, AZ) the Yankees 29th round draft pick, threw a complete game striking out 7 while walking none as Angels White 2012 beat Team Elite 17U White 3-0 to advance to the 2nd round of the 17u WWBA Playoffs. Hoffman is a big, strong righty who held his velo and showed very easy, smooth arm action. He also showed a solid CB at 71 and a very good changeup at 79.
Team Elite threw a trio of high 80s arms RHP Kendall Hawkins (2012, Cartersville, GA HS) topped out at 88 with good command and short, loose arm action after showing good tools at SS throughout the week. RHP Ray Castillo (2012, Russell County HS, Seale, AL) showed short arm action and a fastball up to 88, also showing good break on a 74 mph curveball and flashed a 80 mph changeup. LHP Zach Erwin (2012, Duluth, GA HS) threw two frames topping out at 87.

Trey Killian (2012, RHP, Mountain Home HS, Mountain Home, AK) sat at 88-90mph on his fastball touching 92mph, with his curveball topping out at 72mph, with his slider touching 79mph, and his changeup topping 82mph. Killian has an effortless arm action, is around the plate with all his pitches, changes speeds well and works quick. Killian has riding life on his fastball, with tight rotation on his slider which he uses as an out pitch. Killian's line on the day was 7 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits while walking 2 and striking out 14 to earn the win for DBAT McCabe.

27th seeded Utah Baseball pulled off a dramatic and surprising upset in round 2 of the playoffs Thursday morning, scoring 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning to overcome a 4-1 deficit and defeat the 3rd seeded Canes Baseball 6-4.
In fact, Utah had been shutout through 5 innings by Canes starter RHP Tim Kelly (2012, York HS, VA, verbal to Virginia Tech) before scratching out a single run in the 6th.
The big blow for Utah in the 7th was delivered by 1B/LHP Gage Matuszak (2012, Brighton HS, UT), who delivered a bases loaded triple to give Utah a 5-4 lead. Matuszak was 3-3 on the day and later came into to get the save on the mound in the bottom of the 7th.

The 4th seeded Texas Sun Devils advanced in the playoffs Thursday morning with a 5-1 win over the Atlanta Blue Jays.
SS Gavin Cecchini (2012, Barbe HS, LA, verbal to Mississippi) continued to heat up with the bat. After starting the tournament 1-9 over the Sun Devils first 4 games, Cecchini is now 5-7 with 4 Rbi's in the last 2 contests, including 2-3 with 2 Rbi's against the Blue Jays.

Butler threw 98 pitches in the win, relying mainly (81 pitches) on his 85-88 mph fastball and deceptive delivery to handle the Blue Jay hitters. It was Butler second victory of the tournament, as he threw a complete game shutout against the Del Mar VA Canes in the Sun Devils opener last Saturday.

OF Zach Larson (2012, Lakewood Ranch HS, FL) continued his hot hitting from the #3 hole in the All American lineup, going 2-4 with 3 Rbi's and a double. The 6-4, 190 lb Larson is now 8-14 on the tournament with 4 doubles and 9 Rbi's.

Baseball U Prospects and the Ohio Elite combined for 4 home runs in Round 2 playoff action Thursday morning, with the 12th seeded Baseball U emerging victorious 8-5.
1B Christopher Shaw (2012, Lexington HS, MA) and 3B Grant Van Orden (2012, Don Bosco Prep, verbal to Army) both hit 3 run home runs for Baseball U to account for 6 of the team's 8 runs. That gave Shaw (9-19, 8 Rbi's on the tournament) home runs in 4 consecutive games. The 6-3, 220 lb left handed hitter obviously has huge power and the ability to use it against quality pitching. Van Orden is having an equally impressive tournament, hitting .643 (9-14) to go with 4 walks and 5 runs scored.
OF Jacob Brobst (2012, Bishop Watterson HS, OH) hit a 3 run home run for Ohio Elite while teammate C Matt Smith (2013, Fredrickson HS, OH) added a 2-run shot. Ohio Elite was only able to muster one other hit, though, off of Baseball U RHP Tommy Alexander (2012, Wyoming Valley West HS, PA), who threw a complete game with 10 strikeouts. The 6-2/175 lb Alexander was up to 87 mph with his fastball and threw a very nice mid 70's curveball for strikes.

The East Cobb Braves, held down early, exploded for 10 runs in the 4th thru 6th innings for an easy 11-1 run run victory over the ABA Braves in Round 2 playoff action Thursday morning.
SS Matt Gonzalez (2012, Harrison HS, GA, verbal to Georgia Tech), who hit a home run in the Braves round 1 playoff win against the San Gabriel Valley Arsenal, continued his hot hitting by going 3-4 with 2 Rbi's. IF Chase Moody (2012, Spaulding County HS, GA) also went 3-4 with 2 doubles and is now 9-18 with 5 doubles in the tournament.
LHP Mason Felt (2012, Hebron Christian Academy, GA, verbal to Oregon State) was in complete control on the mound for East Cobb, throwing a 6 inning complete game 2-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Felt threw in the 86-88 mph range the entire game with a 68 mph curveball.

A few days after throwing a no-hitter, Team Alabama RHP Kevin Davis (2013, Miller HS, Brewton, AL) was back up to 92 mph throwing the first two innings as Team Alabama's offense stayed hot with an 11-4 win over the Dallas Stars Black to move on to the 2nd round of the 17u WWBA Playoffs.
The Team Alabama offense pounded 13 hits as Ben Craft (2012, Chelsea, AL HS) showed a strong swing with gap to gap power and projects for more power.

RHP Carson Fullmer (2012, All Saints Academy, FL), who was announced as a member of the Perfect Game All American Classic team on Wednesday, celebrated in style Thursday morning, striking out 16 Team Alabama hitters in a 3 hit shutout as the top seeded Orlando Scorpions Purple advanced in the playoffs with a 3-0 win.
Fullmer threw 70 of 92 pitches for strikes in the dominating performance, starting 19 of 25 hitters off with a strike. His fastball averaged 92 mph and topped out at 95 and his 78 mph curveball was a plus pitch for him as well. Fulmer is now 2-0 in 12 innings without allowing a run in the tournament and has stuck out 28 (!!!) hitters. In fact, only 15 of the 43 hitters Fullmer have faced have managed to avoid the slow walk back to the dugout.
IF Kevin Brantley (2012, Wekiva HS, FL) hit a solo home run for the Scorpions and went 2-3 out of his leadoff spot.

The unstoppable middle of the South Florida Elite Black's batting order continued to dominate as the Elite overcame an early 2-0 deficit to defeat Team Citius Thursday morning by a 8-2 margin and move on to the next round of the playoffs.
OF Lewis Brinson (2012, Coral Springs HS, FL, verbal to Florida), hitting in the #3 hole, went 2-2 with 2 walks and scored 3 runs. Any conversation about the tournament MVP will have to include Brinson if the Elite advance further in the playoffs, as he is 9-15 in the tournament, with 2 home runs, 7 Rbi's and 9 runs scored.
Many of those runs have been scored as the result of the cleanup hitter, C Christopher Chinea (2012, Gulliver Prep, FL, verbal to Miami). Chinea, who unfortunately missed last month's PG National Showcase with a minor injury, is completely healthy now and is 7-13 on the week with 11 Rbi's. He's an outstanding hitter with very good strength and is also one of the top defensive catchers in the country.
The Elite received a clutch pitching performance from LHP Ivan Paleaz (2012, Sunset HS, FL, verbal to Miami). Paleaz came into the game in the second inning and threw 6 shutout innings of relief, allowing only 2 baserunners while striking out 7 hitters. The Miami commit is an extremely polished southpaw who throws in the 85-88 mph range with a big breaking curveball and a nice change up he could throw more.

RHP Tucker Simpson (2012, Oxford, AL HS) topped out at 92, striking out 10 in 7 innings as the East Cobb Braves earned a big 6-3 win over SGV Arsenal in the first round of the 17u WWBA Playoffs Wednesday night. Simpson is a big, strong Georgia Tech commit who has been one of the best pitchers in the East Cobb program over the last few years.

CCB 17U Elite took a 3-0 lead after 3 batters in the first inning and cruised to a 10-0 run rule victory over Longshots Baseball in playoff action Thursday morning. After a leadoff single and an error in the CCB half of the first inning, IF Mark Mathias (2012, Irvington HS, CA) blasted a 3-run home run to give the Elite all the runs they would need. Mathias would later add a run scoring single and is now 7-12 with 7 Rbi's for the tournament.
RHP/DH John Dickerson (2012, Palo Alto HS, CA), batting in the leadoff spot, went 3-3 with 3 runs scored. Like his teammate Mathias, Dickerson is also having an outstanding tournament and is 8-13 at the plate with an impressive 10 runs scored in 5 games.

The #11 seeded ABD Bulldogs survived to play another game, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to pull out a 6-5 win over the Angels White. The Angels helped seal their own fate, committing infield errors on the first two batters of the inning, then playing a bunt into an infield single to load the bases. The tying run scored when 3B Daniel Robertson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and the winning run scored when 1B Joseph Duffin followed with a single.
ABD will play CCB 17U's in the next round.
RHP Kieran Lovegrove (2012, Mission Viejo HS, CA, verbal to Arizona State) threw a complete game to get the win for ABD. Lovegrove topped out at 91 mph on his fastball, with a 79 mph slider as his best off speed pitch.
SS Paul Panaccione (2012, Liberty HS, AZ) completed an outstanding tournament week for the Angels, going 2-3 to up his tournament totals to 8-14 with 7 Rbi's.

RHP Michael Bollmer (2012, Bryan Station, KY, verbal to Louisville) led #7 seeded Kentucky Baseball Club to a 6-1 win over the Virginia Cardinals Thursday morning and advancing them to the next round of the playoffs. Bollmer threw a complete game 1-hitter, allowing an unearned run and striking out 8 Cardinal hitters. He worked in the 84-87 mph range with his fastball and threw a 75 mph curveball, with very good command of both pitches. Bollmer also provided enough offense to win the game by himself, blasting a 2-run home run.
SS Cole Metcalfe (2012, Madison Central HS, KY) also knocked in 2 runs with a triple for KBC.

Jacob Bosiokovic (2012, RHP, Delaware Hayes HS, Delaware, OH) topped out at 89mph while sitting at 85-87mph with his curveball topping out at 70mph, and his slider topping out at 79mph. Bosiokovic has a projectable frame, has good extension out front, with good follow through, with an online delivery, life on his fastball, and tight rotation on his slider, that he uses as an out pitch.
Matt Smith (2013, C, Fredericktown, Fredericktown, OH) paced Ohio elite on offense going 2-2 with 2 runs scored, 3RBI'S and a triple. Smith has good plate coverage, a fluid stroke, with good bat speed.

Hegner has good command of his pitches, effectively pitches inside, gets good extension out front, with good follow through and throws easy. He has a balanced smooth online delivery, sets up hitters, changes speeds well, with a changeup that has good armside run and he uses it as his out pitch.
Jesmuel Valentin-Diaz (2012, MIF, Puerto Rico Baseball Academy, Manati, PR) was 2-2 in the game to help lead FTB to the second round of the playoffs. He has a quick bat, gets good extension at the plate, with a short compact swing, good bat speed, and stays inside the ball well. Valentin-Diaz has a sound hitting approach at the plate, drives the ball with regular contact, and is a gap to gap hitter. In the field Valentin-Diaz has good fielding actions, with solid defensive tools, and a quick smooth transfer.
Mitchell Greer (2012, RHP, Edgewood Academy HS, Prattville, AL) topped out at 92mph on his fastball while sitting at 88-92mph with his curveball topping out at 76mph. Greer is around the plate with all the pitches, with short arm action, an arm that works well, solid arm action, uses his lower half, and hides the ball well. Greer has armside run on his fastball, with a good feel for his curveball and effectively pitches up in the zone.

Every time the Big Stix Gamers 17u play, Matt Olson is highlighted by PG scouts as a top prospect. The Parkview HS product throws in the upper 80s on the mound but is more known for his big time power bat from the left side. Olson homered in the Big Stix Gamers 7-5 win over the NJ Super 17 showing his big time bat speed and strength. He is a high level two way prospect to watch over the next year.
