Jarett Rindfelish and A. Urabik both go 2 for 3 at the plate while Joe Gellenbeck's double adds 3 runs to give pitcher Howie Smith whose FB touched 81 the 8-3 win.

Whitaker and Adams (Windward Braves) both go 3 for 3 in today's 8-0 win over the BL Bombers. 

Winning pitcher for Windward was White pitching 5 scoreless innings giving up just two hits.

Carolina Reds 15u clinches win on last play >>

A well faught game right to the end but the Carolina Reds 15u come out on top over the East Cobb Rangers 5-4.  Doug Norman picks up the win for Carolina showing a great performance.  Norman pitched all 6 innings earning 9 strikeouts.  However it did come down to the last out of the game.  The game tying run, pinch runner Jason Delay, tried to score from second on a base hit to right however right fielder Garrett Rast throws out Delay at the plate for the final out of the game.  The Rangers pitching staff did combine for 9 strikeouts and only allowed 2 hits, however it was the 6 walks that made the difference in this game.  
Panthers top Titans >>
South Charlotte Panthers' Lefty Alesander Bostic showed good stuff in the first inning of work touching 86 with the fastball, however only lasted 2 2/3 innings.  Philip Perry followed up Bostic and picked up the win.  East Cobb Titans' Jesse Rentz gets the loss but went 6 1/3 strong innings keeping his team in the game.  Nick Salisbury lead the way for the Panthers going 2-4 with 2 runs scored, followed by Brian Bauk who was 2-3  with an RBI. Also, Colby Barnette crushed a double to center field and later scored.  For the Titans Andrew Smith colleted 2 of the teams hits going 2-4 with 1 run scored.   
Marucci 15u hold on for 7-5 win >>

Austin Edens went 2-3 in the game with 2 runs scored and a double. Edens has a large frame, with an aggressive approach at the plate, and shows potential pop in his bat.

Kyle O'Keefe was 2-3 in the game for Marucci Elite with a double and 3 RBI's. O'Keefe has an aggressive approach at the plate, with good bat speed and stays inside the ball.

Devin Browning led East Cobb Pride in their effort. Browning was 2-3 in the game with a run scored and a double. Browning has a short compact swing, has an aggressive approach at the plate, with a strong build.

Two Mid 80s Arms for Flames >>

The East Tennessee Flames had two mid 80s arms throw in their 11-4 victory over Shamrock Baseball 16U to end the first day of the 16U PG/EC Invitational.

Eric Freeman started the game, topping at 84 with his fastball, throwing downhill and complimenting it with a 71 mph curveball.

Hunter Neff got the final four outs for the Flames, topping at 86 with a curveball at 73. He has a balanced delivery and good hip rotation, his arms works well with control of both his pitches.

The Flames picked up 12 hits on the day, with Freeman picking up two. Other Flames with multiple hits were Zach Messing, Nick Walker, and Baylee Delozier.

MJ Delong was on base three times and had two RBI for Shamrock Baseball. He makes consistent contact at the plate and has impact speed on the bases.
Dodgers Hang on for 6-3 Win >>
Gm # 14 | 6/9/2011 | 4:30 PM Batters Box Baseball 16U vs. East Cobb Dodgers
A four-run top of the sixth inning propelled the East Cobb Dodgers to a 6-3 win over the BL Bombers as Andrew Riel allowed two earned runs, striking out five in six innings. He topped at 77 with his fastball, also throwing a changeup at 70 and a cutter at 71.

Top offensive prospects for the Dodgers were 2B Tyler Flowers, a projectable athlete with good actions on the infield and arm strength, CF Colt Henderson, a strongly built player with the ability to run, throw and hit for power, and 1B Zach Eller, a power-hitting LHH with strength and power potential.

Jake Durham got the start for Batters Box, topping at 78, throwing a curveball at 67, and a changeup at 66. Jack Kolls topped out at 70 in his 2 1/3 inning stint and Will McMillian topped at 70, also leading the offense with two hits including a triple.
Dallas Tigers Pound BL Bombers 12-0 >>
Evan Anderson topped out at 85 over 4 innings in the Dallas Tigers 12-0 four inning win over the BL Bombers. Anderson sat 82, throwing downhill from a over the top arm slot and is a solid athlete with broad shoulders and room to fill.

The Tigers offense pounded out nine hits with Colin Peterson knocking two hits, showing the ability to stay inside the ball well, and Tyler Zabojnik showing gap to gap power with quickness in his bat.
Yanks Top Marucci 16s 4-2 >>
Gm # 9 | 6/9/2011 | 2:00 PM Marucci Elite 16's vs. East Cobb Yankees 16U
Ed Voyles and Eric Henderson combined to shutdown a talented Marucci Elite 16U squad 4-2.

Voyles topped out at 85 with his fastball over six shutout innings, striking out 7 and walking two. He has long easy arm action, also showing a curveball at 69 and a changeup at 70. Henderson threw the 7th, topping at 79 with his fastball.

The Yankees got multiple hits form Alec Sard and Pearce Howell. Sard has a sound hitting approach with a line drive swing. Howell has a lean, projectable frame and loose swing actions.

Marucci has a roster full of talented offensive prospects highlighted by projectable, athletic LHH OF Justin Williams, Strong athletic OF Cameron Davis, power bat Charles Guillory, and 2014 top two way prospect Blake Hennessey.
Shockwave Pour it on Late in 13-5 Win >>
SC Shockwave used 5 pitchers in their 13-5 win over the Chattanooga Cherokees.

Brody Gibson got the start, topping at 80 with a curveball at 73, Preston Lane was next with his fastball at 75 over two scoreless frames.

JD Waite topped at 80 in his inning, Collin Steagall at 82, and Grande Fender at 73.

The Shockwave got two hit games from Jordan Gore, Preston Lane, and Hayden Heflin. Stephen McKnight had three hits in four at bats and drove in three.

Gore showed an all fields approach with good bat speed, Lane has a long, projectable frame and solid contact skills.

Matt O'Brien stood out for the Cherokees offensively with a sound hitting approach, balanced swing, and lots of line drive contact.
Eubanks CG Gives Reds Victory >>

Carolina Reds RHP Alex Eubanks threw a complete game, allowing one earned run, walking three and striking out 3 in a six innings, time limit game. He topped out at 79 with his fastball, also flashing an 11/5 curveball at 72.

Josh Crump led the offense with three hits and an RBI, and Josh Massey had  a hit, showing a balanced and quiet hitting approach with quickness in his bat.

Matthew Vaccaro picked up a pair of hits and an RBI, and also showed soft sure hands and solid actions and arm strength on the infield.
TGBA Tops Chilidogs 3-1 >>
RHP Matthew Gorst threw a complete game, allowing five hits and one earned run, striking out four and walking none. His fastball topped at 84, a 72 mph curveball and a changeup at 70. He has smooth easy, arm action and good command of an 11/5 curveball.

Chilidogs starter RHP Levi Koebel nearly match him pitch for pitch allowing three earned runs on seven hits, striking out 3. His fastball topped out at 83 and he threw nearly 40% curveballs with it topping at 70 with good break. He throws downhill with a balanced delivery and smooth arm action.

Chris Carden had two hits in three at-bats for the Chilidogs, showing a line-drive approach with balance and solid bat speed. Jacob Reine is a solid athlete who had a single and drove in their lone tally.

TGBA Jonathan Banks has a strong, confident approach and a smooth swing, picking up a hit, RBI, and scoring a run. Evan Trout stayed inside the ball well with a short line drive swing. He showed the ability to make consistent hard contact to all fields. Sam Roberts had two hits an RBI with a strong base and short swing with pop.
Heat Start Tourney with 5-4 Win >>

Top Notch (SC Heat) started their 16U PG/EC Invitational with a 5-4 comeback win over the ABA Braves.

Four pitchers combined to allow only one earned run with starter Matthew Williams topping his fastball at 82, his curveball at 74 and a changeup at 73.

Alex White had three hits at the plate, showing projectability and a quick bat with whip. He has a pull approach, but the ability to hit balls to all fields and is an interesting prospect to watch.

ABA Braves OF Quantico Dodson has a quiet, line-drive stroke at the plate and is a good athlete who can run. Of Montico Dodson showed lots of athleticism, covering ground in CF and good speed.

ABA Braves reliever Andrew Brady is a solid athlete who was up to 75 mph with his fastball.

Jordan Baker Throws Complete Game No-Hitter >>
As impressive as Jordan Baker's (East Cobb) complete game no hitter was while touching 82 mph, the Astros' bats were just as impressive with Skyler Weber, Kyler Neal, and Wade Bailey all hitting 1.000 on the day.  One hit being a HR for Bailey and Weber.  Bailey led the way going 3 for 3 while the others went 2 for 2.  Mitchell Webb won the RBI contest that game Thursday with 4 RBI's as the ball was jumping of his bat.

Gm # 2 | 6/9/2011 | 9:00 AM East Cobb Titans 15U vs. North GA Barons 16U
Easts Cobb Titans Josh Shumake and North Georgia Barron's Ryan Zentko battled it off on the mound as Tony Flores (East Cobb) and Kyle Jackson (North Georgia) battled at the plate.  Shumake and Flores eventually winning the battle off of Flores'  double to RF scoring two runs.

Kyle Jackson (North Georgia) finished 1 for 3 on the day with a two run HR.  Ryan Zentko pitched a complete gaming giving up 4 runs and added a hit as well at the plate to go along with 2 walks for the barron's. 

Jared Datoc added a double for East Cobb going 1 for 2 on the day. 
Diamond Boys win 8-0 >>

Nate McMaster pitched a 5 inning complete game victory for the Diamond Boys this morning. McMaster allowed 0 runs on 1 hit while walking 1 and striking out 4.

Jacob Carpenter went 1-2 in the game for the Diamond Boys. Carpenter's only hit was a 2 run triple to help in the effort. He also walked once and scored 2 runs in the win.

Mike Poole was 2-3 in the game for the Diamond Boys. Poole scored 2 runs in the game with a single, a double, and 2 RBI's in the game.

Marucci Elite 15's Plate 18 Runs >>

The Marucci Elite 15's roll through their game one beating 5280 Baseball 16u 18-0.  The biggest story to this game was the way that Marucci swung the bats, they plated thier 18 runs with a combination of thier 13 hits and 6 walks.  Marucci brought the big bats posting 7 doubles by: G McCrory, M Nickens, A Edens 2, H Randolph, J Mauldin 2. Tanner Lloyd picks up the win for Marucci by throwing 3 inning of perfect baseball.
Krill and the Patriots top Pride >>
The East Cobb Patriots 16u come out on top over East Cobb Pride 16's with help of Mike Krill and the Patriots bats.  Mike Krill picks up the win while pitching all 6 innings.  East Cobb Pride did rough Krill up for 5 earned runs, however Krill's bulldog type preformance only allowed 2 walks keeping his team in the game.  The Patriots took advantage of 5 doubles by: Kemether, Henke, Lee, Yost, and Trego.  The Pride did not go queitly putting up 8 hits of their own lead by Lippincott and Walker.  Zach Lippincott was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored, while Jimmy Walker was also 2 for 3 with an RBI.
