The following players stood out during the Red vs Navy game at the 2014 National Underclass South Showcase.
Zachary Eggers (2016 LHP, Flower Mound, TX) Topped out at 82 with his fastball and mixed in a curveball at 67 and change up at 75.
Zachary Rumfield (2017 C, Robstown, TX) was also up to 82 with his fastball in his inning of work.
Grant McDaniel (2016 OF, Victoria, TX) showed quick hands with a solid up the middle approach. He had the only hit for the Navy team.
Sammy Pleus (2016 LHP, Sugar Land, TX) was very impressive in his 4 innings of work topping at 87 while striking out 10.
Javan Smitherman (2018 RHP, Kilgore, TX) was also impressive with 6 strike outs during 4 perfect innings, his fastball topped at 83 and had feel for a 70 MPH curveball. He also had 2 singles and 2 runs scored a the plate.
Logan Berlof (2016 MIF, McKinney, TX) showed gap to gap power while collecting 2 doubles.
Austin Harper (2018 OF, Sugar land, TX), Jake Oblas (2016 RHP, Gunter, TX), Zachary Baker (2016 2B, Mesquite, TX) and Braylen Gage (2016 OF, Keller, TX) all collected a hit in a winning effort for the Red Team.
