The following players stood out during the evening game of Texas Orange vs Steel Teams at the Northeast Underclass Showcase.
Christopher Holcomb (2017, LHP, Nauset Regional HS, MA) was 79-80 topping at 82 with his fastball, he showed good feel for a curveball at 67 and mixed in a 75 MPH change up. He struck out 8 in 4 perfect innings of work.
Nate Carney (2016, OF, Bristol Eastern, CT) was 3 for 4 at the plate with a run scored and a double, he does a good job staying back and through the ball.
Liam McGill (2016, C, South Kingstown, RI) went 2 for 4 wih a double and run scored, and showed good actions behind the plate.
Rahul Prince (2016, 3B/RHP, St. Joseph, NY) showed good bat control with a hard double down the line.
Nick Paasch (2016, RHP, OF Tolland HS, CT) went 2 for 4 showing a mid field line drive approach.
Zach Stevens, (2017, 1B, Lexington, MA) went 2 for 4 making solid contact with a line drive swing plane.
David Stirpe (2018, INF, Hilton, NY), Ben Closson (2016, C/1B, Lancaster HS, NY), John Klimowich (2016, OF/3B, Fair Lawn, NJ), Ryan Mitchell (2016, 3B, Moorpark HS, MA) and Daniel O'Connor (2016, C/SS, Manchester Memorial, NH) all had 1 hit for the Steel Team.
Luke Apuzzi (2016, OF, The Lawrenceville School, NJ) made hard contact on a triple to dead CF.
Brendan Kates (2016, C, Duxbury, MA) went 2 for 3 in the game showing good bat speed.
Alex Beattie (2016, RHP, St. Pius X, ON Canada) and Johnny Tuccillo (2017, C/OF, Stissing Mountain HS, NY) each collected a hit for the Texas Orange Team.
