Pitching was on display for the Black team as 3 pitchers combined for a shutout of Orange. Arizona commit Kevin Elder (Burlington Central HS, IL) was dominant in his 3 innings of work allowing no hits with 8 strikeouts. His fastball was steady at 88-90 MPH in his 3 innings of work. He also threw a sharp breaking ball for strikes and showed command of both pitches.
He was followed by Nebraska commit Derek Burkamper (2013 - Muscatine HS) who pitched 2 innings allowing one hit. He was steady at 86-89 MPH with his fastball touching 90 MPH. He's a lean projectable bodied player with a clean arm action.
Florida commit AJ Puk (2013 - CR Washington HS) pitched at 85-88 MPH with a loose easy arm action. He gets good run on his fastball with a sharp curveball. He's a very projectable pitcher who could really make a jump between now and the end of the spring.
Tyler Votroubek (2013 - CR Prairie HS) led the Black team with 2 hits. He's a strong kid with bat speed and power potential.
