FORT MYERS, Fla. - The first round of the playoffs (eight games) at the 2011 WWBA Florida Qualifier are scheduled to start at 2 p.m. Sunday at Terry Park and the Boston Red Sox Player Development 5-Plex. The final pool-play games are slated for Sunday morning, after which the seedings will be determined. The four quarterfinal games - all at Terry Park - are to follow at 4:30 p.m.
My plan going into the day is to provide one featurish type of story after the completion of pool-play to set up the playoff field, and another story setting up the semifinals after the completion of the quarters. Sunday should offer plenty of drama, and if anything unexpected comes up, I'll try to be on top of it. The semifinal and championships games are scheduled for Monday (9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. respectively) at Hammond Stadium at the Lee County Sports Complex.
