Cape Clubs Grab Top 2 Spots
  
PG CrossChecker, in conjunction with the summer-league website,www.summercollegebaseball.net, has unveiled its first ranking of summer teams for the 2010 season. Not surprisingly, two teams from the powerful Cape Cod League sit atop the rankings, with the Brewster Whitecaps at No. 1 and the Chatham Anglers at No. 2.
  
The nation’s top 30 summer-league teams will be ranked each week, on Tuesday or Wednesday. An emphasis is placed on the league’s competitive level, the prospective professional-quality talent on each club, a team’s won-loss record and its league dominance in arriving at the rankings. Each club must have at least a .500 record to be eligible.
  
Last year’s No. 1 club, the Forest City Owls of the Coastal Plain League, has opened this season with a 16-7 record, and is ranked No. 4.
