Perfect Game gets tips on up and coming high school prospects virtually every day and follows up on every one of them. Some of them turn out to be right on the nose, others perhaps a bit exaggerated. The important thing after hearing about a potential prospect is to get him to an event for the PG scouts to see for themselves.

Last August we began to hear about a righthanded pitcher in North Texas who was throwing in the low-90s but had somehow had only been seen by a small handful of area scouts. He hadn’t played in any WWBA events, hadn’t been invited to the Texas Scout Association showcases and certainly hadn’t played in any of the major showcases such as the Perfect Game National Showcase, Tournament of Stars or the Area Code Games.
