In many way, players like Casey Gillaspie are only as valuable in the draft as their spring performances say they are. He’s not going to wow scouts with his superior athleticism or speed, and it’s not going to be about the “what if” factor with him – his game is about pure power and putting up numbers that makes scout believe what many already do, that he’s a big leaguer masher in the making. To his credit, he’s done everything he needs to do in that department so far this season and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
