The summer baseball circuit has shifted gears since last week's WWBA17U Championships in Marietta, Ga.

Players competed in the WWBA17U tournament with wooden bats. However, things have changed this week as several players committed to Division I programs are competing in the annual PG BCS 17U tournament in Fort Meyers, Fla., which unlike the WWBA format, uses the BBCOR bat.

Wednesday's action at the PG BCS17U was filled with excitement, and here's an inside look at how several commitments performed.

Mid-Atlantic Red Sox 10, Team Mizuno of PR 1

* Wake Forest 2013 commit, C Alex Murphy, had another impressive day at the plate. He went 2-for-3 with a triple, home run, three runs scored and three RBIs.

Marucci Elite 9, Orland Scorpions 17U Black 6

* Florida State 2013 commit, SS Oscar Mercado, went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead the Elite squad.
