April 24 National Rankings

The top five teams in the ranks remain the same as Tampa Jesuit (FL), Harvard Westlake (CA), Olympia (FL), Mater Dei (CA), and American Heritage (FL) all rolled to easy wins. Florida begins district playoffs this week.

The showdown between previous No. 8 CC Carroll (TX) and No. 12 Calallen (TX) failed to live up to expectations, as Calallen cruised to a 7-1 victory. The impressive win moves Calallen up five spots to No. 7, Carroll slides to No. 14 this week.

Providence (NC) now sits 20-1 on the year and is up to No. 8 in the ranks and are the top team in the Mid-Atlantic. Another North Carolina team, TC Roberson, sits at No. 39.

The Woodlands (TX) continues to climb, moving into the top 20 thanks to an eight game winning streak that has run their season record to 20-3. No. 24 Cathedral Catholic (CA) has a similar eight game winning streak that included a championship at the San Diego Lions tournament a couple of weeks ago and have carried that momentum on.

No. 30 Broken Arrow (OK) had a big week that included a sweep of Stillwater (OK) over the weekend to extend their winning streak to eight, pushing their season record to 28-3. Broken Arrow leapfrogs No. 32 Owasso (OK) for the top team in the state, a position that has been jockeyed for back-and-forth all season long, suggesting that the 6A state tournament could be intriguing once again this season.

Farragut (TN) posted a pair of wins over Lexington Catholic (KY) in our National High School Game of the Week and sit one spot above Roberson at No. 39.

New additions this week include: No. 44 Kentwood (WA), No. 48 Norwin (PA), No. 47 Hamilton (AZ), and Western Branch (VA).
