Collegiate Summer Top 25 6-28-11

Allan Simpson

Cape teams exchange positions

With three straight wins by Harwich and three straight losses by Hyannis, those Cape Cod League teams have flip-flopped roles as the nation's No. 1-ranked summer-league team in the latest Perfect Game USA weekly Top 25 rankings.

Harwich (10-4) moved from No. 8 to No. 1, while Hyannis (9-5) slipped from No. 1 to No. 5. Both clubs were impacted by rainy weather in the Northeast over the last week, and played just three games apiece.

None of the other teams that were within striking distance of the top spot had a significant enough week to bump a Cape Cod League from the No. 1 spot. The California Collegiate League's Santa Barbara Foresters (15-4) remain at No. 2, while the Coastal Plain League's Edenton Steamers (18-6) remain at No. 3. The West Coast League's Wenatchee AppleSox (17-2) moved up one spot to No. 4.
