St. Francis (Mountain View, CA) continued their impressive run to start the season, winning both of their games to become the new number one this week. The 11-0 Lancers have been dominant to this point, outscoring their opponents 57-13 in spite of playing a tough schedule. They will face a tough test on Saturday when they take on 6-1 Sacred Heart Cathedral (CA), but it certainly won't be the first big test they've faced. The Lancers' signature win to this point was their 3-0 victory over Bishop O'Dowd (CA), as they knocked off one of the top pitchers in the state, Joe Ross. It won't get any easier the following week when they take on 20th ranked Archbishop Mitty (CA) on March 29th.

Last week’s number one, Farragut (TN), dropped a game at the Science City Classic, but went on to win the tournament and currently sit at 5-1 on their young season. They slipped, but not far, coming in at no. 2.

Preseason number 1 Gulliver Prep (FL) had an impressive week, which they started with a 20-0 victory. The Raiders moved up to #3 after going 3-0 and capping off the week with a 7-6 extra innings victory over Tampa Jesuit (then #18) in the National Game of the Week. The top ranked player in the class of 2012, RHP/SS Lance McCullers got the start for Jesuit and was up to 98 MPH but the Raiders managed to pick up three runs off of him over five innings. Gulliver now sits at 12-2 on the season and look every bit the juggernaut they did before the season.

Edison (Huntington Beach, CA) held steady at #4, in spite of losing their first game of the season. The Chargers went 2-1 on the week, with their first loss coming in a split doubleheader against a solid team in El Toro (CA). Owasso (OK) rounds out the top 5, moving up from 9th after winning the Blue Devil Classic Tournament in Florida.

Archbishop McCarthy (FL), Bishop Gorman (NV) and Flanagan (FL) all moved into the top 10 with each winning all of their games this past week.

Orangewood Christian (FL) continued to climb, cracking the top 15 after making their debut in the rankings last week. The Rams won all three games to move to 13-0 on the season. They are led by SS/RHP Dante Bichette Jr, 2B Vicente Conde (pictured above), C Tomas Nido and C/RHP/1B A.C. Carter. They will have to protect their undefeated streak four times this week.

St. James (SC) moved into the top 25 and remain undefeated on the season after winning both of their games this week. OF Tanner English continues his breakout campaign and has been a major impact for the Sharks, hitting .516/.579/.935 through his first eight games.

#26 Douglas (FL), #36 Wayne County (GA), #38 The Woodlands (TX), #39 Pensacola Catholic (FL), #44 Boulder Creek (AZ), and #50 Mater Dei (CA) all make their debuts in the top 50 this week. 45th ranked Brenham (TX) rejoins the top 50 after dropping out for the past two weeks.
