Dulins Dodgers take home 14u BCS Finals crown

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Dulins Dodgers knocked off the Big Stix Gamers by a score of 7-
6 in the 14U BCS Finals. The Dodgers went wire-to-wire winning all 8 games they
played.

The Gamers would grab 2 runs in the top of the first before the Dodgers would score 4
runs in the bottom of the frame to grab the early lead, 4-2. But, over the next 4
innings the Big Stix would chip away and grab a 6-4 lead heading to the bottom of the
5th inning. In the bottom of the 5th the Dodgers would have a big, 3-run inning, to
take the lead for good, taking the title by a score of 7-6. The inning was capped by a
3-run double by Josh Cooley (2013, Horn Lake HS, TN).

The most valuable pitcher was Brett Hanewich (2013, Bradenton HS, Fla) of the Dodgers.
For the tournament, Hanewich pitched 10 innings gave up 4 earned runs on 6 hits. He
also had 2 K's and didn't walk a batter. He also pitched 2 2/3 innings in the
championship game to earn the save.

The MVP of the Tournament was Josh Cooley. Cooley had a huge day en route to the
Dodgers winning the tournament. In two games today, Cooley went a combined 3-for-4
with 3 doubles, a walk, and 9 RBI's to lead Dulins. For the tournament Cooley was 5-
for-11 with 3 doubles, 10 RBI's, 5 runs scored, 4 walks, one home run, and one steal.
