SWFL 18U Pitchers from Naples HS
Published: Saturday, September 19, 2009
The SWFL 18U team is a championship contender and they have a number of players sure to move on after high school.
I saw two pitchers in particular this morning who should get pro follows and college offers. Both go to Naples High School.
Lefty Cameron Griffin is a solidly built 6-1, 190 and threw consistently in the mid-80s with a 78-80 MPH slider. He has a good delivery and easy arm-action. The stuff is short for pro ball right now, but it's September and he may look different in the spring. The stuff he has will work for a lot of Mid-D1 schools and Griffin projects for me as a durable hurler who can throw a lot of innings.
Kevin Lindheim is a 6-0, 210 righty who threw 86-89 MPH in relief, one of the best arm-strength guys we've run into during this tournament. Lindheim's arm works well, with a long stroke, though he throws severely across his body on his delivery. The strongly built Lindheim had some depth on his 70-72 MPH curve. It's not hard to see him as a good short reliever in college, mid- or high-D1.
