Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League top prospect list

The Hamptons League had a nice balance of talented prospects this past summer, but the league definitely was more fruitful when it comes to pitching prospects.

Power arms such as Chris Hall and Stephen Woods made some waves this summer, while righthanded pitcher Tim Ingram earned Most Outstanding Pitcher honors for the summer he put together. Meanwhile, offensively, St. John's athletic outfielder Mike Donadio had a terrific summer, not only cementing himself as the league's best overall hitter, but also earning the distinction as the Hamptons League's best overall prospect.

TOP 10 PROSPECTS

1. Mike Donadio, of, Riverhead (St. John's/SO in 2015)
The Johnnies are excited about Donadio's potential for good reason. The talented sophomore outfielder hit .328 with five homers and 45 RBIs as a freshman for Ed Blankmeyer's club, and followed that up with a stellar summer, that included a batting average over .370 along with nine stolen bases, among other accomplishments. The 6-foot, 190-pounder, showed power during the spring, and showed some gap power this summer with nine doubles. Donadio registered the fastest 60-yard-dash time (6.52) at the league's annual Scout Day, while he also showed great speed and instincts during games. Donadio showed a mature approach at the plate with good pitch selection and did a nice job of using all fields. Donadio has average arm strength, but that's expected to improve as his body matures in St. John's strength and conditioning program.
