Griffin is a lean and lanky 6-foot-5, 190-pound southpaw with loose, young athletic actions and tons of physical projection. He pitches in the 90-92 mph range at present with his fastball, but it is just a matter of time before he starts pumping mid-90s heat consistently. Griffin’s best secondary pitch is a nice changeup with plenty of deception, and he also throws a big sweeping curveball with sharp biting action.
