A righty hurler with a background playing behind the plate, English is another one of those athletic presences on the mound this class will come to be known for. He’s steadily improved on the mound, both in terms of raw velocity and command. He’s reached 95 mph with his fastball this summer and works consistently in the low-90s. Most impressive about English, however, has been the development of his outstanding command of his secondary pitches, an arsenal that includes a sharp curveball, slider, and a changeup.
