Chavis has a tightly wound 5-foot-11, 190-pound build that packs more strength than is obvious at first glance, or at least until he takes a swing. He has an extremely aggressive approach at the plate, with plus present bat speed and the ability to consistently hit the ball in the air. Chavis hit 15 home runs at Perfect Game WWBA and BCS tournaments during the summer and fall of 2012 and has picked up where he left off this summer. Chavis showed excellent all around tools at the PG National including 6.68 speed in the 60-yard dash and throwing 91 mph across the infield.
