David Thoms -- Thoms is a switch-hitting junior middle infielder from Georgia. He has an athletic body with some good life to it and plays the game with aggressiveness and confidence. Thoms has a nice approach and stroke from the left side of the plate and generates good bat speed. He doesn’t project much power yet but he makes solid line drive contact. Thoms swing from the right side is fundamentally similar but he doesn’t quite have the same amount of bat speed. Thoms ran in the 4.30’s (MLB average) a couple of times, giving a better read on his speed than 60 time. Defensively, Thoms has good actions and some arm strength for the middle of the field. Keep an eye on him, he has tools.
