David Christensen is a 2006 outfielder from Parkland, FL with a strong athletic build at 6-1, 195 lbs. He's a "tools" player that pro scouts will flock to before the draft. Christensen has a top level speed/arm combination. He ran the 60 in 6.69 and is the kind of player on the field who is always running hard and will take advantage of his speed. Christensen threw an outstanding 93 mph during outfield drills and has very good on-line carry to his throws. At the plate, Christensen hits out of a very spread stance with no stride and a high hand starting position. He has very strong hands and generates serious bat speed through the ball. Christensen likes to hit the ball out front and is looking to pull it hard. He got a 90 mph fastball out over the plate on the first pitch of an inning in Atlanta and hit a high and long bomb about 15 rows deep in left centerfield. He made solid contact most of his at bats and was really dialed in the whole event. Christensen is an outstanding student off the field. Highest level prospect.

David Christensen -- Christensen is a sophomore outfielder/pitcher with a nice, projectable athletic body and some very good tools for a young player. Christensen hits from a wide stance with little load or stride and generates good bat speed with a level swing path. Christensen’s swing can get a little long at times but he makes consistent good contact. His best tool right now is his arm strength. He threw 89 mph from the outfield and it wasn’t an effort throw, it was easy and the ball flew out of his hand. On the mound he topped out 86 with 70mph breaking ball and 78mph change up. He showed great poise and outstanding mechanics. Christensen is also a very good runner. He’ll be a fun player to watch develop over the next few years. David is an excellent student and could easily end up being one of the nations top prospects by his senior year. We are looking forward to following his future progress both on the mound and in the field.
