David Rollins is a 2008 LHP/of with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Carthage, TX who attends Carthage. David displayed good arm speed along with good tempo and sound mechanics. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with loose action. He has a very athletic frame, with some present strength. His arm speed is good with good whip. Hitters really had a hard time with his stuff this weekend. He spotted the ball on both sides of the plate, and mixed in his offspeed very effectively. His ball jumped on hitters, and no one was taking confident or aaggressive swings against him. He worked quickly and attacked hitters, filled up the zone with strikes. David struck out 8 of the 9 batters he faced, with a top fastball velocity of 87 mph and a top velocity on his slider at 80 mph. Offensively, he hits from a slightly open stance with a nice quiet swing. He has a good flat bat path that produces line drives. David was a top prospect for this showcase.

David Rollins is a 2008 LHP with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Carthage, TX who attends Carthage HS. He has a live, slender build with good overall athleticism. Rollins throws from a high 3/4's release point with smooth and fluid pitching mechanics. His best pitch was an 80 mph slider that was sharp and biting and worked well off his 88-90 mph fastball. Rollins had a good idea how to mix his pitches and locations and pretty much overmatched most hitters. If he were to develop a change up with the same type of quality and command that would be a big bonus. Rollins also plays first base and has a quick contact type swing from a wide base and has enjoyed lots of succcess at the plate in WWBA events in the past.
