Alex Hogge is a 2007 C/1B/OF from Atlantic Shores Christian HS in Chesapeake, VA, with a 5'7", 189 lb. frame. Alex has a short strong build, that produced outstanding workout times for his position. He shows a smooth LH swing with athletic actions in the box, and a simple approach that helps in square the ball very well. Behind the plate Alex shows a smooth release with a very accurate arm. He has outstanding footwork behind the plate and runs very well for a catcher. Alex is a player that should attract attention from many colleges across the country.

Alex Hogge is a 5'7" 185 pound 2007 catcher, first baseman, and outfielder from Chesapeake, Virginia who attends Atlantic Shores Christian. He has good arm strength with his 73 mph throws from behind the plate with a pop time of 2.02. His throws were very accurate and it seems that he controls the running game very well. Playing at a position were speed is not a premium, he showed a very good 60 time of 7.29 and a 4.55 down to first. Hogge is a left handed hitter who got better at the plate as the event went along. He has some good power which will improve as he gets his lower body more involved in his swing. Alex was named to the Top Prospect game and one should look for him to continue to improve in all areas.
