Ryan Fehling is a 2007 OF/1B with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame from Chico CA, who attends Pleasant Valley. Fehling has a very noticeable body. He is broad and athletic, with a strong lower half and room in his upper body to fill out. His overall ability is quite well-rounded and he could really come on this spring. Offensively he showed a short stroke and good balance. He stays inside the ball and hit line drives to all fields, displaying a nice opposite field approach. Fehling lets the ball travel and has good timing. He creates nice barrel lag and gets to a powerful position behind the baseball at the contact point. Follow him closely. Defensively he approaches the ball well and reads the ball in the air well. He has good arm speed and should continue to improve his raw arm strength. Fehling makes accurate, low trajectory throws that can be handled easily by the cut off men. He is a good student and has interesting ability.
