Joel McKeithan is a 2010 SS/IF/P with a 6'1'', 145 lb. frame from Arden, NC, who attends TC Roberson HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team. McKeithan is a very young prospect with a tall and lean frame with long limbs and great projection. Defensively he has nice footwork with good actions. He has the ability to play SS, but he might grow out of the position. At the plate he is a switch hitter who looked a bit stronger from the right side. He has solid bat speed with good swing mechanics and a line drive swing plane. He takes an aggressive swing and makes consistent contact. On the mound he has a loose arm from a 3/4 arm slot with good mechanics. He showed mound presence and threw strikes with his 72 mph fastball. McKeithan has a good chance to be a top prospect by the time he becomes an upperclassman. He is a must follow and he is an excellent student as well.
