Corey Jeffers is a 2006 outfielder from Woodbine, NJ with a thick strong build at 6-0, 200 lbs. He ran the 60 in 7.28 and threw a strong 85 mph from the outfield. Jeffers throws were accurate and had good on-line carry. At the plate, Jeffers takes a short, compact swing and makes consistent solid contact. He shows bat speed on a line drive swing plane. Jeffers tends to pull off the ball some and likes to pull the ball. More extension through the ball will help Jeffers develop the power potential his strength gives him. Jeffers is also a good student off the field.

Jeffers is a junior outfielder from New Jersey with good present strength throughout his body. He’s a 7.63 runner in the 60 and showed good arm strength from the outfield in throwing 82 mph. At the plate, Jeffers hits from a calm, balanced stance with a rotational type swing. He generates some bat speed and hit the ball hard in game situations once he settled down and got aggressive attacking fastballs. Jeffers swing is more geared to aluminum bats right now and he probably hits with impressive power with one in his hands. Jeffers also showed that there might be a spot for him at the college level as a pitcher. He throws from a high ¾’s release point and generates good arm speed. His fastball was 80-84 mph and he threw a 70-72 mph curveball that had some 12/6 downer bite to it. Jeffers is also a good student.
