Taylor Buckles is a 2009 C/P with a 5'9'', 180 lb. frame from Acworth, GA who attends Kell HS. He has a short, stocky build with good present strength. Buckles threw 71 mph during drills with a best pop time of 2.05. He has a quick exchange and release and makes accurate throws to second base, even though he tends to fall off to the third base side on his throws. He showed good hands receiving the ball and was comfortable behind the plate. Buckles hits from a slightly open stance with high hands and a long, rotational swing. His swing plane is down through the ball. Buckles used his strength to hit some balls hard to the right centerfield gap and is primarily an opposite field hitter. He ran the 60 in 8.28.
