2004 Underclass National Showcase
Christopher Murphy -- Murphy is a slender freshman infielder from Pennsylvania with some very good tools and actions for a young player. He has some life to his lower body on defense that shows in his movements to ground balls. He also looks like he’s going to have very impressive arm strength when he matures. He runs very well for a freshman. Murphy lists himself as a switch hitter but only hit from the left side that we saw. He has a short, compact stroke that’s opposite field oriented right now. More strength is obviously going to help his bat speed with wood and he has some good fundamentals in place for when that happens. He's an excellent hitter who just needs to develop more physically. Definitely a top "07" to keep an eye on.
