Stephen Smith is a 2008 OF from West Islip HS, residing in West Islip, New York, with a 5'9"/165 pound frame. Stephen has a lean frame. He hits from a straight stance with a high back elbow and a no stride approach. Smith has a short swing with good hands. He will get more power when he learns to use his lower half more. Stephen has a line drive swing plane and centers the ball well. He has long arm action from the outfield with a solid release at 77 mph. Smith has an accurate arm but needs to continue working on his arm strength. He moves to the ball well and has solid ramge. Stephen is an excellent student.
