Chris Straface is a 2006 LHP/OF/1B from De La Salle HS in Danville, CA, with a 6'0", 180 lb. frame. He is a crafty left handed pitcher with a good feel for the strike zone, and a curveball that separates himself from the rest of the staff. Good sound mechanics, even tempo delivery, and consistent finish out front. He has a compact arm action in back with arm speed out front. His curve ball has good late depth with good spin and action from an 11-5 tilt. His curveball is currently a good out pitch, and will continue at the next level. At the plate he tends to wrap the bat behind his head with an upright stance and average base. Straface takes a small stride and occasionally spins on contact. He shows strength in his swing and has the ability to use the whole field. Defensively he has good hands at first base with good footwork around the bag. He has the potential to be a two-way prospect, and is a good student.
