Matt Francati is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 6'1'', 210 lb. frame from Bay Village OH, who attends Bay Village. Francati has a big frame with a thick build. Francati pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with good command of his fastball. He pitches to contact and looks to get a lot of ground balls. He works the corners well and can be fairly deceptive. Francati works quick between pitches which helps his defenders stay on their toes. He throws a 1/7 curveball for strikes and it has the makings of a nice pitch. At the plate, Francati starts with a square stance and starts his swing with a quick stride. He looks to hit the baseball to the opposite field and can do so with some pop. His hands work in his swing and generates some bat speed. Francati will drive the ball better when he quiets down his swing with fewer moving parts. Defensively, Francati moves well around the base at 1st and can make the picks. Francati is an outstanding student.
