Casey Hellman is a 2008 RHP/OF with a 6'0'', 170 lb. frame from Piedmont CA, who attends Piedmont HS. Hellman performed well on the mound. In 3 IP he allowed zero runs, striking out one and allowing only one hit. He has a wiry, lean body type on an average sized frame. Hellman is not traditionally projectable in terms of size but his loose arm and lean body suggest he will throw harder as he physically matures. Better still is his pitchability and mound presence. From his over the top slot he showed a 79-81 mph fastball with good down angle. Hellman's curveball has decent spin and some depth. He throws quality strikes, showed the ability to change speeds and has a three pitch-mix repertoire, making him a solid college prospect for the right level, which will be determined in large part by his physical strength and size gains in the coming years.
