Ross Pomerantz is a 2007 LHP/1B with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Kentfield, CA, who attends Marin Academy. Lean frame with long arms and good projection. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an easy arm action. Pomerantz has a smooth arm and shows good poise on the mound. He gets good sinking action on his fastball that topped out at 74 mph while working in the 71-74 mph range. He worked both sides of the plate with his fastball, and dropped way down at times giving hitters a different look. Pomerantz also mixed in a 66 mph curveball, and showed a feel for his changeup at 60 mph. At the plate he is a left handed hitter with a high back elbow. He has solid bat speed and likes the ball on the inner half. He did show the ability to drag bunt with good bat control. He is also a good student.
