Steven Ferguson is a 2007 LHP/1B with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame from Katy TX, who attends Cinco Ranch HS. He has a tall, slender build with developing strength. Ferguson has a multi-part delivery with a short, somewhat still arm action. His release point is over the top. Ferguson's fastball was 76-78 mph with some late running action. His off-speed pitch was a 62 mph curveball with predictable 12/6 downer break from that release point. We didn't see a change up. Ferguson's delivery and arm action make it hard to project his raw stuff but was around the plate with his pitches and was effective. Ferguson is a good overall athlete who can run and fielded his position well. He also plays some first base. He is an excellent student.
